Chapter 31: Chapter 31 Privacy, No Comnt
Thump, thump, thump…
Ning Yichu couldn’t tell if it was her own heartbeat racing out of control. Visions of that drunken night’s tangled scenes flashed through her mind, and she blurted out without thinking, “How many tis do I have to tell you, I’ve never had your child, and now I seriously suspect that you’re getting so close to just to take advantage of !”
Li Lingyang’s breath caught, a furious fire swirling in his eyes as he tightened his grip on her wrist. “Then tell , why did you appear at this amusent park?”
“That’s my privacy, none of your business!”
Shen Jiangqing looked on in disbelief. Was this really the cold and proud Li Lingyang she rembered?
He had never taken the initiative to hold her hand, not even when she had just given birth to their child. He had never embraced her, rely helping her into a wheelchair. But now, their distance was almost negative.

Jealousy grew wildly in her heart like vines. She reminded him, “Aling, the children are watching. Since Lady Ning claims it’s not her, we should just wait for the surveillance from the entrance, and it will be clear who ca in with the child.”
With a cold expression, Li Lingyang let go of Ning Yichu and shook out his crisp black coat, “Then we wait.”
“We’ll wait, so you can give up hope,” Ning Yichu said calmly, pointing to a bodyguard and instructing, “Hey you, I’m thirsty. Go get a juice.”
The bodyguard was embarrassed, as Ning Yichu spoke to him as if she were the one paying his salary.
But seeing that Li Lingyang, despite his unhappy face, did not stop her, the bodyguard resigned himself to getting her the juice.
The atmosphere turned awkward, tensely suspended.
But the children were completely unaware of what the adults were discussing, especially Doudou.
She had co to the amusent park today hoping to see Ning Yichu. Now that she saw her aunty, she scampered over to curry favor, her big eyes watery and innocent, her little mouth rosy, filling anyone who saw her with affection.
Ning Yichu couldn’t bring herself to push her away and was just about to squat down and chat with her when Shen Jiangqing suddenly rushed over and swept Doudou up into her arms.
“Doudou, didn’t you say you wanted to ride the carousel? Mommy will take you,” she said.
Doudou was held so tightly by Shen Jiangqing that her little face was turning red.
Ning Yichu originally didn’t want to interject, as she and Shen Jiangqing were on different levels. She had no place to comnt on how Shen Jiangqing handled her own child, but the helpless look in Doudou’s eyes softened her heart.
“Miss Shen, is this how you normally hold a child? Can’t you see Doudou’s face is turning red?”
Shen Jiangqing’s heart flustered, and she hurriedly loosened her grip, subconsciously glancing toward Li Lingyang.
In front of Li Lingyang, she always portrayed the image of a virtuous wife and a loving mother. She was hands-on with her children, and the nannies were only there to assist when she was overwheld.
Li Lingyang, noting Doudou’s flushed face, cast a daunting gaze upon Shen Jiangqing.
Shen Jiangqing quickly defended herself, “Last ti, Lady Ning took Doudou away without permission. I was just alard earlier. Doudou, did mommy hurt you?”
Doudou bit her tender lower lip and didn’t speak, instead extending her little hand to grasp Ning Yichu’s index finger as if to say she wanted her to join her in play!
Ning Yichu didn’t expect Doudou to like her so much; she found herself a little troubled. She didn’t mind playing with Doudou, but she worried Li Lingyang might think she had ulterior motives.
Doudou turned a pleading gaze toward Li Lingyang.
Li Lingyang’s brow tensed. “Since it will take a while for the surveillance to be checked, Lady Ning, I would appreciate it if you could take Doudou to play for a bit.”
“So President Li does understand manners after all~” Ning Yichu said mockingly, picking up Doudou and heading towards the pirate ship nearby. After a few steps, she called out as if she had just thought of Ningning, “Little friend, do you want to co along and play too?”
Ningning was playing along with mommy’s pretense, a complete little drama queen, “Sure, sure, I love playing with pretty aunties the most! Hmph, being with that stinky auntie earlier, the air was suffocating…”
Shen Jiangqing was so angry her eyes turned bright red, filled with resentnt!
It was clear that this wretched girl had only t Ning Yichu once, for just a few hours at most, and yet they had beco so close!
She had been caring for her for four years!
“Aling, didn’t we agree last ti to try and keep Lady Ning away from Doudou as much as possible?” Shen Jiangqing put on a conflicted and troubled expression.
Li Lingyang’s face betrayed no emotion, simply saying, “It’s rare for Doudou to like her, and with bodyguards watching, she can’t stir up any trouble.”
“As you say, but Doudou has never liked interacting with strangers. After being taken out once by Lady Ning, to like her so much, I fear Lady Ning might have said sothing to her…”
A glimr of suspicion flashed through Li Lingyang’s eyes, he of course had doubts, but the smile on Doudou’s face was genuinely real.
Li Lingyang’s silence in Shen Jiangqing’s eyes seed to indicate he was swayed by her, just as she was about to press her advantage, she heard the man’s deep voice suddenly rise…
“Ning Yichu doesn’t have that ability, and besides, Doudou needs to interact with more people to quickly co out of her shell. Since she’s willing to interact with Ning Yichu now, I respect that.”
Shen Jiangqing’s eyes widened, “But what if Ning Yichu hurts Doudou…”
“The bodyguards will be watching at all tis, if she dares to hurt Doudou, I will make sure she regrets it!” The threatening undercurrent in Li Lingyang’s deep tone was clear, it was not a matter for discussion, but a decision made.
Shen Jiangqing, who had ant to say a few words to belittle Ningning, swallowed her words hesitantly, “If you think it’s good for Doudou, then I have no objections.”
“Rest assured, I won’t take Doudou’s safety lightly. When she wants to find Ning Yichu, I will personally keep an eye on her.”
Shen Jiangqing felt as if she was choking on blood in her throat, that was even worse than the bodyguards watching!!
Doudou really enjoyed playing with Ning Yichu and her daughter, her smile barely ever stopping.
From a distance, Li Lingyang could hear the children’s laughter and cheers drifting over the silent park.
He had the photographer capture a few photos.
Watching his daughter’s beaming face, Li Lingyang thought, as long as Ning Yichu was willing to help Doudou out of her shell, even if she did have ulterior motives against him, he could let her off the hook.
Likewise, Ning Yichu was also secretly observing Li Lingyang, always aware of his movents.
After all, the park’s surveillance footage wasn’t available yet…
In such a mutually suspicious atmosphere, Special Assistant Xu finally delivered the security footage from the park entrance.
“President Li, the surveillance footage has been retrieved.”
Li Lingyang had been waiting for a while, took the iPad swiftly, and clicked play. After watching, his eyes, previously resolute, suddenly froze, turning incredulous.
Ning Yichu also ca over upon hearing the sound, her heart constantly on edge. Seeing the disappointnt on his face, she guessed—
Chen Bao had successfully altered the surveillance footage!
“President Li, the child wore a mask the entire ti, we compared it for a long ti before we found him. The surveillance shows that he didn’t co with Lady Ning, but alone, and once he entered the park, he wasn’t accompanied by any adults,” Special Assistant Xu explained, trembling and frightened by the man’s imposing aura.
Good heavens, are children turning into little devils these days? At just four or five years old, to dare to co to an amusent park alone!!
