"Carlos, stop pretending to be a saint!"

Evan Palr’s voice was hoarse, his eyes filled with madness. "One billion! Transfer one billion to the account I specify, and I’ll release one of the kids, either your precious son Sebastian Carter, or Emily Parker’s son Aaron, your choice!"

Carlos clenched his fist tightly, his gaze first fell on Aaron.

That was Celeste Emily’s most cherished child, and then he glanced at Sebastian, his tone cold and yet compromising.

"I’ll give you two billion, release both children, I’ll have Oliver Ross transfer the money right now, it will be in the account within ten minutes."

"Two billion? You’re generous," Evan scoffed, "Two billion it is, but I can only release one child, choose! Will you save your biological son Sebastian, or save Emily’s son Aaron?"

Emily’s heart suddenly leaped to her throat, she stared fiercely at Evan, palms sweating.

She knew, everyone thought Sebastian was Carlos’s son, and Aaron was just her child, even if Carlos cared about Aaron, he would most likely choose Sebastian.

She instinctively stepped forward, her voice trembling yet firm, "Evan, I can provide the money too, whatever you want, just don’t hurt the children!"

Seeing her sudden appearance, Evan was montarily stunned, his hand starting to tremble slightly.

"Who do you think you are?" Linda White suddenly spoke, the gun in her hand wavering, making Emily’s eyes red.

"Evan, wake up, if it weren’t for them, how would we have ended up like this? Today, either Sebastian dies, or Aaron dies, one of them must pay for our bitter days!"

Carlos imdiately shouted, "Stop! Don’t touch the children!"

He pulled out his phone, sending a ssage to Oliver Ross in front of them, telling him to transfer two billion, "The money will be there soon, just put the knife down, don’t hurt the children."

Linda stared at him, eyes filled with greed, but before long, sirens sounded outside the warehouse, growing clearer and closer.

Linda suddenly panicked, lifting Aaron hurriedly, dragging him towards the edge of the cliff behind the warehouse, "The police are here! You lied to ! If I can’t live, I’ll die with Emily’s son!"

Evan also panicked, hefting Sebastian, running towards the cliff, yelling, "You forced ! Carlos, if you co any closer, I’ll push both children off now!"

Emily and Carlos rushed forward simultaneously, but Emily was too far from Aaron, seeing Linda’s hand already touching the cliff’s edge, Emily’s heart was about to leap out.

Watching the scene, Evan suddenly had a vicious thought, if Emily’s son Aaron died, Emily would surely collapse, and she and Carlos would never have a chance!

He deliberately slowed his pace, waiting to see Carlos rescue Sebastian.

But the next mont, everyone was stunned.

Carlos didn’t chase after Evan with Sebastian, he instead charged full force towards Linda and Aaron, grabbing Aaron’s clothes and pulling him into his arms!

"Are you crazy? Sebastian is still in my hands!" Evan shouted incredulously, Sebastian struggling in his grip, almost falling.

At that mont, the police stord into the warehouse, quickly subduing the panicked Linda.

Amidst the chaos, Evan violently pushed, and Sebastian still fell off the cliff!

Emily held the frightened Aaron, her limbs cold, about to shout for soone to save Sebastian, only to see that there was already a rescue net set up below.

It turned out Emily had sent a location to the police on her way, ensuring they were prepared below the cliff.

Soon, rescue personnel lifted Sebastian up, he was shaken but unhard, and dical staff imdiately rushed to care for him.

Evan, pinned to the ground, looked at Aaron, held tightly in Carlos’s arms, his eyes full of confusion and dissatisfaction. Evan struggled and scread.

"Carlos! Are you crazy? Sebastian is your biological son! Why didn’t you save him but saved Emily’s son instead!"

Linda also shouted, "Impossible! How could you not care for your own son? Aaron is just Emily’s child, why are you protecting him!"

Carlos ignored their screams, first gently touched Aaron’s head, ensuring he wasn’t hurt, then raised his head to look at the two on the ground, eyes full of cold mockery.

"Biological son? Sebastian was never my biological son, Aaron is."

This statent was like a thunderclap, not only Evan and Linda were stunned, even Emily, holding Aaron, was shocked, looking at Carlos, "What... what did you say?"

"In the apartnt, I accidentally saw Aaron’s diary." Carlos’s tone softened, his gaze towards Aaron filled with tenderness.

"He wrote that I’m his dad. He even called a silly dad."

Aaron stuck out his tongue, burying his little head in Emily’s embrace.

Carlos once again looked at Evan, his voice cold, "As for Sebastian, these five years, my care for him was part of my plan.

I knew long ago that Linda was not dead, she would co back for revenge, so I deliberately made everyone think Sebastian was my son, to lure you out.

Moreover, Sebastian isn’t my child at all, he is your half-brother, Evan Palr, didn’t Claire Shaw tell you this?"

"No! Impossible!"

Evan completely broke down, struggling frantically, "You’re lying! Sebastian is your son, how could I have a brother? You’re deceiving !"

But no matter how he shouted, he couldn’t change the facts. Everything he had painstakingly tried to destroy was false from the start, like a show put on by a clumsy clown.

At this mont, dical staff ca over, informing Carlos and Emily, "The kids have been checked, so minor injuries and shock, no life-threatening danger, just need proper rest afterward."

Only then did Emily breathe a complete sigh of relief, her grip on Aaron softening.

Carlos walked over to her side, "Don’t be afraid, now that I’m here, I won’t let anything hurt you again."
