139: Chapter 136 Suspecting Her 139: Chapter 136 Suspecting Her Too fast!

Carlos’s actions were too quick.

He was like a wild horse racing off, suddenly rushing to Emily Parker and sweeping her off her feet in a horizontal carry.

He casually took off his suit jacket and covered Emily’s head with it, exiting the venue where the press conference was held.

By the ti the dia reacted and desperately took photos, the two were already nowhere to be seen.

Only leaving behind a flustered Oliver Ross and the various staff mbers from the research center.

Oliver Ross could almost anticipate it.

The headline tomorrow would definitely be “Junior President Carter Leaves Midway, Mysterious Beauty Appears!”

Holding Emily, Carlos avoided the dia and returned to the office at the research center.

Everyone from the research center had gone to the venue, so the office was empty at this mont.

“Carlos, put down now.”

Only then did Emily pull down the suit jacket from her head, her face flushed red, whether from being flustered or embarrassed.

“Why didn’t you stay in the resting room, what brought you out here?”

Carlos started criticizing right off the bat.

Hadn’t he already told her, with so many people around, if she fell…

“Don’t worry, the baby is fine.”

Emily thought Carlos was worried about the baby being hurt, and quickly explained, trying to walk a few steps as she spoke.

With those steps, Emily gasped lightly.

Carlos glanced down and noticed swelling around Emily’s right ankle.

“Don’t move!”

Carlos’s face grew stern, asking Emily to sit down, and he bent down lifting her right foot.

Her ankle was delicate and fair, which Carlos grasped in one hand.

His fingers gently massaged Emily’s ankle.

“I’m fine, just stood too long, it’s swollen.”

Emily’s heartbeat skipped a beat, hastily attempting to withdraw her foot, but Carlos tightened his grip, retrieving an ice pack from a nearby small fridge.

“Don’t move.”

Carlos held the ice pack, fearful of it being too cold against Emily, he wrapped it in a towel and began applying it to her foot.

At this mont, Carlos’s heartbeat also quickened.

Emily wasn’t wearing stockings today, and touching her ankle, her skin was very smooth, as soft as silk.

This reminded Carlos of that night in the cinema.

That evening, because of the dication, his mory wasn’t clear.

But that vivid sensation gradually revived as he rembered the video he saw that day.

Images from that evening flashed through Carlos’s mind, making him feel sowhat thirsty.

A suggestive atmosphere slowly flowed between them.

Neither spoke, the ice pack in Carlos’s hand lting bit by bit, Emily felt sothing inside her slowly lting too.

But suddenly, Emily thought of Rainny White in the resting room.

Emily bit her lip, breaking the silence between them.

“There won’t be any problems with the press conference, right?”

“With Oliver Ross there, he will handle it.”

Seeing that the ice pack had almost completely lted, Carlos casually tossed it aside.

Carlos was very confident in this new car.

“Oh right.

Grandpa said the main ideas of that design are yours.

Where did you learn car design?”

Carlos suddenly asked.

Emily was taken aback, unsure of how to reply.

Emily opened her mouth, just about to say sothing, when the director of the research center rushed in breathlessly, his face tense and covered in sweat, giving both Emily and Carlos a start.

Could sothing have happened at the press conference?
