133: Chapter 130: The Secret Rivalry Between the Ex-Boyfriend and the Current Boyfriend 133: Chapter 130: The Secret Rivalry Between the Ex-Boyfriend and the Current Boyfriend Charles Pond was suddenly dumbfounded.

He thought he had made a mistake and tried again only to find that his balance was still insufficient.

“Tsk tsk, Charles Pond, could it be that your family has gone bankrupt?

Can’t even pay a hundred thousand?”

Maria Carter’s beautiful eyes narrowed, her words laced with sarcasm.

“Just wait a minute.”

Charles Pond hurriedly called his mom to ask what was going on with his bank card.

Although the Pond family wasn’t as wealthy as the Carter Family, they were still one of Capital’s established noble families, and Charles, being the eldest grandson, was the most favored.

Charles received monthly allowances of fifty thousand, and on birthdays, he could get over a hundred thousand in red envelopes.

“What?

Grandma said she’s stopping my allowance starting this month?

How can that be, Mom, can you talk to Dad for ?”

Charles’s voice rose suddenly, and on the other end of the phone, Mrs.

Pond told him that Grandma Pond was the true head of the family, whose words no one could defy.

Obviously, Grandma Pond was taking her anger out on Charles because of Emily Parker.

Charles was like a frosted eggplant, angrily hanging up the phone.

“Maria Carter, how about I owe you the money for now?

Give the courseware first, and once my grandma calms down, I’ll pay you,” Charles tried to persuade Maria Carter in a good manner.

Maria Carter scoffed,

“Co back to when you’ve scraped together 200 thousand to buy the courseware.”

“200 thousand, didn’t you say it was 100 thousand?”

Charles’s handso face turned red with anger.

“If you ask again next ti, it’s going to be 300 thousand,”

Maria Carter humiliated Charles thoroughly, and with gritted teeth and an awkward retreat, he left.

Failing to buy the courseware, Charles had to gloomily seek out Alia Willow.

Upon learning that Charles hadn’t managed to get the courseware, Alia did not get angry.

Instead, she consoled him nicely, and her understanding made him even more infatuated with her.

Charles even promised her that after their college entrance exams, they would publicize their relationship and get engaged.

Alia Willow went to the girls’ bathroom and made a video call on her phone,

Her eyes reddening and her voice choking up.

She cried and complained about being humiliated by Maria Carter in front of so many people.

The pitiful sight was witnessed by the man on the other end of the video call.

“You’ve been wronged.

I will get Maria Carter’s courseware for you.”

Alia couldn’t help but break into a smile upon hearing this.

The next day, when Alia was at the ssenger room, she received a courier package addressed to her.

She opened it to find Maria Carter’s lecture notes.

A smile involuntarily crept onto Alia’s lips—these notes would help her beco the top student at school once again.

In the classroom, Alia overheard several female classmates discussing,

“Have you heard?

The female doctor at the clinic by our doorstep is pretty amazing.”

“There’s always a huge queue outside.”

“I heard she’s a goddess doctor, she can revive the dead with just a needle.”

Alia frowned as she listened; rumors were indeed more terrifying than tigers—Emily Parker was not as miraculous as they said.

Even if she was a disciple of Master Lowe, it wasn’t for very long, and Master Lowe had taken her in only out of obligation.

“Who’s been spreading such nonsense?

I know that doctor; she used to be a little nurse at People’s Hospital.

She was kicked out of there for her poor conduct.

She’s just a nominal disciple of Master Rowe.

She doesn’t really have any dical skills.”

Alia kindly reminded them.

“Maria Carter told us.”

“Could she be lying?”

The girls looked at one another, perplexed.

“If you don’t believe it, I’ll have my brother pick up this afternoon.

You’ll believe him, won’t you?”

The girls cheered at this,

They had all heard of Adam Willow, the forr heartthrob of their school who also excelled in his studies.

Alia made a call to Adam Willow, who was originally too busy at work to consider her request.

But upon ntioning that Emily was working at the clinic by the school, Adam beca curious about Emily’s new workplace and agreed to pick Alia up that afternoon.

After school, Alia and the girls chatting and laughing approached the school gate,

And there stood Adam Willow, beside a newly purchased rcedes.

Recently making a fair amount from stocks and having his salary increased after switching to Love & Kindness Hospital, Adam was feeling quite financially comfortable.

His outstanding appearance was now a scenic sight at the school gate, instantly drawing many eyes.

Alia hurried over and affectionately grabbed her brother’s arm, “Brother, these are my classmates.”

Adam Willow greeted the girls, who all blushed and sneaked peeks at him.

“Aren’t you saying that Emily Parker’s clinic is nearby?”

Adam’s mind was still on Emily, and he urged Alia on.

Alia led Adam to the front of the small clinic.

By the afternoon, the queue had disappeared.

Emily, after a busy day, was leaning on the counter, checking the day’s accounts.

Dressed in her white coat and a ponytail, she looked refreshed and neat.

“It’s just ahead, brother, isn’t it funny?

There are actually people in school spreading rumors that Emily Parker is a divine doctor.”

Alia deliberately spoke loudly for the other students to hear.

Across the street,

Maria Carter was about to visit Emily when she looked up to see Alia and her brother.

She hurriedly called Carlos,

“What’s going on, brother?

Emily’s ex-boyfriend has co to pick her up.

As her current one, can you put in a bit more effort?”
