The bag suddenly flew out and hit the woman’s face directly. She cried out in pain, and several nurses stood up, seeing the woman erge from the corridor.

A high-fashion woman dressed in custom-made attire. A silk blouse with a palace style inside, a black suit jacket with strong shoulders and a cinched waist, adorned with a half-wing sapphire butterfly chain brooch.

Long legs, a slim waist, and loose curls; her beautiful face was now clouded with darkness, coldly staring down at them.

Despite the black-and-white color sche, nothing looked monotonous on her. Calm and grand, the oppressive aura at that mont overwheld the people at the nurse’s station, who dared not breathe.

Working here, they naturally understood that wealthy people in the area were not to be trifled with, and soone like Florence Fuller looked even more challenging to ss with.

They lowered their heads, not daring to speak.

"Miss Fuller!" Doctor Lane’s arrival stopped Florence Fuller’s next move. He walked up to Florence, looking at her appearance, probably already knowing: "Let’s talk in my office."

Florence glanced coldly at him, her voice icy: "Make them get out of here!"

Even though it was difficult, Doctor Lane nodded: "Yes!"

Florence strode away.

The nurse picked up the bag and handed it to Doctor Lane, with a pitiful expression: "Director Lane, we just... we didn’t..."

Doctor Lane took it: "You should write your resignation letters yourselves."

"But we were brought in by Professor Wangford, it can’t be that easy to make us leave, can it?"

The salary and benefits at a private hospital definitely differ from those outside. Now, just a word to make them leave? Of course, they weren’t accepting it.

"That woman just now, even the dean has to show so respect to her. If you don’t want to stay in SJ, feel free to sit here and wait for her to sort you out herself."

Fear and guilt appeared in their eyes.

"Doctor Lane?" Charles Shaw had just co out of the elevator, hearing the conversation and seeing the nurses looking unwell. He asked: "What’s going on?"

The nurses looked at each other and lowered their heads when they saw him coming.

In the past, they always mocked and disrespected Charles Shaw and Evelyn.

Because they assud the people in room 3622 had no background.

"Miss Fuller ca." Doctor Lane handed him the bag: "Seems she knows about your mother being taken to the ergency room."

Charles took it: "How does she know? Did you tell her?"

Doctor Lane shook his head, and Charles imdiately thought of that woman, Chloe Quinn.

No wonder he saw her downstairs earlier.

Florence Fuller was waiting in Doctor Lane’s office, and it was Doctor Lane and Charles who arrived.

Her face was clouded, and her gaze fell on Charles: "Am I an outsider?"

Charles lowered his eyes: "Sorry."

"Charles." Florence looked at him expressionlessly: "I’m spending money to treat your mother’s illness, yet I have no right to know about her entering the ergency room. You think just saying ’sorry’ solves it?"

"And you!" Florence looked at Director Lane: "I spent so much money bringing you back from abroad, and you’re keeping this from with him. Director Lane, do you understand your position?"

"I was the one who asked Director Lane not to say anything," Charles said.

Florence laughed coldly.

Charles: "Director Lane, please go out for a mont."

Director Lane left.

Charles looked at Florence, his face worn: "The reason mom ended up in the ergency room this ti is because of ."

Florence looked at him coldly.

After a few seconds of silence, he seed to speak with difficulty: "Alia Gordon at DN Dawn has been pestering since the beginning. I clearly rejected her several tis, but she was relentless. She ddled with my work, saying if I didn’t agree to her, she’d keep as a low-level journalist at DN Dawn, with no chance of rising.

Later, to get rid of her, I agreed to go out to eat with her a few tis, hoping she’d get bored and leave alone. But then... then she suddenly said she wanted to marry into her family. I refused outright, causing a fallout, and from then on, she started suppressing at work, even going to find Evelyn, then ended up at the hospital here."

Florence looked heavily at him: "So what happened today?"

Charles recalled that day’s scene with anger: "That day, after work, I ca straight from the company to see mom, and Evelyn was there too."

That day, Chloe Quinn brought him to the hospital, saying she had made a nourishing soup for him to bring to Alia Linney, so he brought it to the ward. Evelyn was chatting with Alia Linney inside.

Just as he was pouring the soup into a bowl, Alia Gordon suddenly burst in. He was shocked because her presence always spelled trouble, and she’d caused trouble before, which Alia Linney rembered.

Evelyn knew her too and quickly got up to stop her: "Sorry, we don’t know you, please leave."

Without saying a word, Alia Gordon slapped Evelyn across the face, arrogantly ordering: "Get out!"

Evelyn, infuriated, went to retaliate, but Alia Gordon glared at her: "You dare hit ? You and your mother are finished."

Alia Linney looked at her: "What do you want?"

"Ask your son." Alia Gordon looked at Charles: "With a woman as good as , he doesn’t want and instead hooks up with those slags outside. What am I to do?"

Charles pulled her aside: "Speak kindly, please leave imdiately."

Alia Gordon shrugged him off: "Don’t touch , Charles. You know my family’s background. Do you dare lay a hand on ?"

Evelyn, fearing sothing would happen to Alia Linney, pleaded: "Miss Gordon, can my brother discuss this with you outside?"

"Why go outside? I want to stay here." Alia Gordon looked at Alia Linney with disdain: "Auntie, to be honest, you have a good son. It’s your good luck I fancy him. Marry into our family, and you’ll have everything, yet he’s unwilling. I used to pester him but to no avail; as soon as money was ntioned, he agreed."

"Please leave." No matter how good-tempered Alia Linney was, hearing such slander about her children, she was furious by then.

"Your son is truly cheap, cheap but cocky...!"

"Alia Gordon." Charles forcibly pushed her outside, but Alia Gordon resisted. She slapped Charles and yanked the quilt off Alia Linney’s bed: "Not only cheap but cocky, your daughter is no better... living in such an expensive hospital room, do you really think it’s charity? She’s probably sleeping her way through it."

"Get out!" Unconcerned with anything, Evelyn dragged and pushed Alia Gordon out. However, in doing so, sothing happened to Alia Linney.

She was trying hard to control her emotional fluctuations, but started coughing violently. Charles and Evelyn tried to explain that Alia Gordon was talking nonsense, but Alia Linney was still coughing up blood. She fainted, and her vital signs plumted.

Then she was taken to the ergency room.

The critical issue was that after Alia Gordon’s outburst, a few police officers arrived at the ergency room door. Without a word, they took Evelyn to the police station, detaining her overnight.

The reason was intentional harm.
