Florence Fuller had learned about her beforehand; it was Siya that Oliver wanted to introduce her to.

Siya smiled, "If you’re fighting for inheritance, I don’t mind marrying into your family."

Florence saw the intense ambition in her eyes.

"A marriage alliance or a takeover? Siya, I don’t want to beco another Adeto."

Siya sighed with regret, then turned her head and said, "Speaking of which, today is quite a big day, why haven’t we seen the director of Polaris Conglorate."

Florence tilted her ear slightly.

This business empire, Polaris Conglorate, could be said to have achieved a global presence, with its fields of interest being extrely diverse, so even monopolizing capital, and its predecessor stemming from the dostic market.

Florence hadn’t delved deeply; she only knew the company’s forr elder director’s child was vying for power, leading to brutal conflicts.

The old director was in a coma and hospitalized, and the new director took office according to his will.

"He’s here." Oliver smiled slightly, "He was just talking with my father."

Siya nodded, looking sideways at Florence, "Stella, you hold a seat on the SN Capital board; what do you think of this director?"

SN Capital has now been acquired and is under the domain of Polaris Conglorate, making it part of the chairman’s direct responsibilities, with its comrcial value destined to expand further.

Siya, subconsciously, felt that Florence was of the sa ilk as her—smart and bold—and she was very willing to make this friend.

"Sorry. I really don’t know." Florence shook her head.

Siya was puzzled: "Why?"

"She has never t this newly appointed chairman; everything within SN Capital, including the board affairs, is managed by her consultant."

Siya frowned, "Why don’t you stay in France to grow?"

"I have my own company here."

"But you would have more room for growth in France; if your company were here, it would undoubtedly develop with great advantages."

Siya’s words were true, but Florence shook her head, "I am married."

"Oh!" Siya swore under her breath.

"She is the young mistress of the Gardiner Clan," Oliver explained.

Siya raised her eyebrows, "All right, pretend I didn’t say anything."

Florence smiled faintly, finishing her glass of red wine in one go; she stood up, "Sorry, I need to leave first."

"I’ll see you out," Oliver stood up and said.

Florence shook her head, "I have a driver; you need to stay and continue hosting the guests."

Oliver sighed.

Siya picked up her bag, "Shall we go together then?"

Florence nodded.

The two left together under the guidance of attendants, Siya asked, "How long are you staying in France this ti?"

"I’ll return in a couple of days."

Siya raised her eyebrows, "I recently have a project in hand; I wonder if you’d be interested."

Florence stopped and looked at her.

Siya faced her, "Maybe tomorrow, I could show you around; I think you would like this city."

Florence quietly t her gaze for a few seconds, then curved her lips, "I am looking forward to it."

Siya seed satisfied seeing her expression, "I am looking forward to it as well."

Florence returned to SJ a week later.

She rested at ho for a day, then went to the company the next day.

As soon as she sat down, Chloe Quinn ca in.

Seeing her lackluster mood, Florence consoled her, "Although we didn’t catch the person, at least we secured a partnership with Moli, right?"

Chloe Quinn excitedly went to the U.S. to catch soone, only to find the person already gone; when she told Florence, Florence was in France.

"Do you think I should find an overseas detective to help?" Chloe Quinn fretted.

"You could if you want to." Florence took a sip of coffee, "Do you need my help?"

"No need." Chloe Quinn patted the table, "Enough talk, when you were in France, did sothing happen with your assets over there?"

"Not really. I attended a banquet and t so people."

Chloe Quinn nodded, "What about other matters?" She probed, "Do you know sothing?"

Florence shook her head, then sensed there was more in her words, "Do you have sothing to say?"

Chloe Quinn shook her head, "I won’t disturb you anymore; I have a eting for collaboration scheduled, we’ll talk later."

Florence nodded and didn’t press further.

The peaceful day ended; Florence left work on ti and bump into Chloe Quinn on her way out.

"Where are you headed?"

Florence stretched her neck, "The gym."

She usually had a habit of going to the gym, and Chloe Quinn shared the sa trainer, "Shall I join you?"

Florence nodded, "Sure."

They reached the underground parking together; Florence was driving herself today, she got into her car, and Chloe Quinn was standing at the door.

"Get in the car."

Chloe Quinn got in, glancing at her several tis.

In the elevator, Florence sensed Chloe Quinn had sothing to say or rather, sothing she had to say since this morning but held back until now.

"Aren’t you going to the hospital to visit your adoptive mother?" Chloe Quinn asked.

"I visited before going abroad, and two days ago, Doctor Lane ssaged saying her condition is quite good. I’ll see her tomorrow."

Chloe Quinn nodded, swallowing back so words, but midway through the ride, unable to hold it any longer since she was with Florence, she couldn’t keep it in, "I think you should go to the hospital and ask Doctor Lane."

Her words caused an inexplicable tension in Florence’s heart, "Did sothing happen?"

"There’s nothing wrong at the mont." Recalling Charles Shaw’s repeated warnings not to inform Florence, she nevertheless couldn’t resist, "A few days ago, Ms. Linney was in the ICU again. It was intentional."

Florence’s eyes tightened, changing her route to head to the hospital.

Once there, she went straight to Director Lane’s office, but no one was inside.

She went to Alia Linney’s ward but didn’t go in; at this ti, both Charles Shaw and Evelyn Shaw were not there, and the sound of the television and Alia Linney’s conversation with the caregiver ca from the ward.

Things seed alright.

She turned towards the nurses’ station; even before approaching, several nurses’ voices weren’t subdued at all, easily audible in the quiet front hall.

"I went to check room 3622 today, and that woman kept staring at a photograph."

"Isn’t the photo of a young, pretty girl with long hair?" another nurse asked.

"That’s right, that’s right."

"I’ve seen it before; I even asked her, and she said it was her daughter. The photo looks like a teenager, right?"

"But that looks different from the daughter who cos now," a nurse said, "I don’t recall seeing her."

"I don’t know," another nurse said, "I’m telling you, it’s quite sothing. Those siblings don’t look like people who can earn much money, yet how did they get into this private hospital?"

"You missed the drama a couple of days ago, that rich girl caused such a commotion here in the ward that she ended up being rushed to the ICU. She was clinging to life and, against odds, brought back."

"It’s the sa person as before, right?"

"Yes, indeed, those siblings are quite sothing. The brother courts rich won, and the sister leans on wealthy n—all to earn their mother’s dical expenses... Ah!"
