When Gavin Sinclair saw her sudden return, a flicker of guilt and panic crossed his face.

’Did she hear what we were just saying?’

"Claire, why are you back so suddenly? Didn’t we agree I was going to pick you up?"

Claire rcer didn’t answer, asking him instead:

"What’s wrong? You look a little nervous."

"Are you afraid I heard sothing I wasn’t supposed to hear?"

"Or were you talking badly about behind my back?"

Hearing this, Gavin Sinclair felt a wave of relief.

’She must have just arrived. She didn’t hear anything.’

Forcing the sa smile he always wore, he wheeled himself over to Claire rcer and asked her.

"You’re their sister-in-law. If anyone dares to speak ill of you, I’ll tear them apart."

’Tear them apart?’

Claire rcer sneered inwardly.

’He really has so nerve, saying that.’

’Just a mont ago, Ethan Grant and his friends were belittling her, calling her a simp again and again.’

’And I didn’t hear him say a single word to stop them.’

"I’m so glad you’re back, Sis. Co and try the food I cooked, see if you like it."

As she spoke, Scarlett Jewel stepped forward to take Claire rcer’s arm, putting on a show of intimacy.

Disgusted, Claire rcer flung her hand away.

"Get your filthy hands off ."

Scarlett Jewel imdiately put on a pitiful, wronged expression.

"I just washed my hands. They’re not dirty."

Seeing Scarlett Jewel on the verge of tears, Gavin Sinclair’s brows knitted together tightly.

His face instantly darkened, and his tone turned icy, clearly expressing his displeasure with Claire rcer.

"Claire rcer, Scarlett worked so hard to cook for everyone. How could you say that to her?"

Claire rcer’s cold gaze shifted to him. "Is that what I ant?"

Her aggressive attitude stunned Gavin Sinclair for a mont.

In the two years he’d been married to her, she had always been utterly submissive, constantly trying to please him.

She was always so cautious around him.

Terrified that she would do sothing wrong and make him unhappy.

But the woman before him today, with the imposing aura she projected in just a few words—where was the slightest trace of that submissive, fawning attitude?

Combined with how she had defied him at the hospital two days ago, putting him in an impossible position...

Gavin Sinclair grew annoyed, and his expression soured even more.

"This is Scarlett’s welco-ho party. It’s a happy occasion."

"Everyone was having a good ti. Can you stop making a scene and ruining the mood for everyone?"

Claire rcer sneered and asked, "So I should leave?"

With a panicked look, Scarlett Jewel quickly stepped in to smooth things over.

"Please don’t fight, you two. Don’t fight because of . I’ll feel terrible."

"You’ll feel terrible?" Claire rcer laughed mockingly. "You look perfectly fine with it to ."

At her words, Gavin Sinclair’s eyes grew even colder.

"Claire rcer, you’ve gone too far..."

"Gavin Sinclair, don’t say anything."

Scarlett Jewel imdiately raised her voice, shouting at him.

Then she hurriedly turned to Claire rcer to explain.

"Sis, I know you still misunderstand my relationship with Gavin."

"You’re still angry that Gavin made you switch hospital rooms with ..."

"It was my fault. I was being difficult. I shouldn’t have brought up anything about a lucky number."

"Gavin was just giving special treatnt because I saved his life before."

"We may have had a past together, but that’s all in the past."

"Now, we’re just friends. Please, don’t misunderstand."

"I really don’t want to see you two fight because of . It makes feel like a terrible person..."

Before she could finish, Scarlett Jewel was already sobbing uncontrollably.

She looked as if she had suffered a terrible injustice.

And the villain who had wronged her was, of course, Claire rcer.

’This is all so pointless,’ she thought. She no longer wanted to be a pawn in their ga.

"Aren’t you tired?"

Scarlett Jewel stared, confused.

Claire rcer pressed on, "Having an affair with Gavin Sinclair in the hospital room next to mine... was it exciting?"

At these words, Scarlett Jewel’s tears stopped abruptly.

Gavin Sinclair’s face instantly turned deathly pale.

The two of them exchanged a panicked glance, suddenly at a loss for how to explain.

Everyone else present also wore expressions of shock.

"Pretending to be disabled, playing for a fool... did you get a kick out of that?"

This question was for Gavin Sinclair.

The room... fell deathly silent.

The living room, which had been bustling with noise just a mont ago, was now so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

A strange tension filled the air, and ti itself seed to freeze.

For several minutes, no one said a word. No one even dared to breathe too loudly.

"Claire... you... have you misunderstood sothing?"

"Misunderstood?" Claire rcer sneered.

"Gavin Sinclair, how long are you going to keep up this act in front of ?"

As she spoke, she stepped forward and slapped Scarlett Jewel hard across the face.

Seeing him remain seated, still looking stunned, Claire rcer raised her hand and slapped Scarlett’s other cheek.

She used all her strength, as if venting all the humiliation she had suffered.

Scarlett Jewel’s cheeks quickly began to swell, and tears of pain stread from her eyes.

At this, as expected, Gavin Sinclair could no longer remain seated.

He shot to his feet and strode over to Scarlett Jewel.

Looking at the red handprints on her face, he exploded with rage.

"Claire rcer, are you crazy?"

"I am crazy," Claire rcer said.

"But Gavin Sinclair, what right do you have to question ?"

"Aren’t you supposed to be disabled? Hm?"

Faced with her aggressive questioning, his lie exposed in front of everyone, Gavin Sinclair—a man who had always been so good at deception—was rendered utterly speechless.

"I didn’t want to make a scene in front of everyone."

"But clearly, you have no sha."

’His good-for-nothing friends praised her while eating the food she made,’

’but ruthlessly mocked her behind her back.’

’Humiliating her, calling her a simp over and over...’

’They helped him hide the fact that his legs had already healed.’

’Not only did he not say a word in her defense, he even let them trample all over her to worship his mistress ex-girlfriend.’

"I’m not going to waste any more breath on you."

"Here are the divorce papers. Please sign them as soon as possible."

With that, Claire rcer took the divorce papers she had prepared out of her bag.

She tossed them lightly onto the table.

’Over the past two days in the hospital, I’ve thought everything through very clearly.’

’Every ti I think of his utterly hypocritical face...’

’Of his lies, his deceit, and his insults...’

’Of him and Scarlett Jewel having an affair in the room next to mine...’

’I feel disgusted. It’s more nauseating than swallowing a fly.’

’Staying with such a hypocritical, disgusting scumbag...’

’...is a form of torture for .’

’It’s a slow suicide.’

’I’ve already wasted two years of my life on this scumbag.’

’Every day of my future is incredibly important to now.’

’This utterly fake scumbag in front of isn’t worth another mont of my precious ti.’

’Not one more minute. No, not even one more second.’
