Adrian Sutton’s lip curled into a cold smirk.

"I have a deal for you. Interested?"

The driver was panicking, in no mood whatsoever to make a deal.

"I’m not interested in any deal. Just let go."

"Of course I’ll let you go," Adrian Sutton said.

"But before that, you’re going to tell everything Mrs. Sinclair had you do last night."

At these words, a flicker of fear crossed the driver’s eyes, and he didn’t dare et Adrian Sutton’s sinister gaze.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Adrian Sutton’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Are you sure you don’t know?"

The driver insisted, "...I don’t know."

’If I betray the old matriarch, my life in Rhonia will be over.’

’This guy in front of just looks like a lackey, trying to scare with a tough act.’

"Excellent." Adrian Sutton smiled. "I have ten thousand ways to make you talk."

"What are you going to do?" The driver’s eyes widened in terror.

"I’m telling you, this is a society of laws! You’d better not try anything funny."

"Don’t be so nervous." Adrian Sutton patted his cheek.

Then he took a handkerchief from his pocket, wiped his hand, and spoke to his bodyguard.

"Since he’s not cooperating with a civil conversation, he’s all yours."

The bodyguard nodded respectfully. "Yes, sir."

Seeing this, Claire rcer couldn’t help but ask,

"Who is he..."

’He seems so respectful toward him.’

"Oh..." Adrian Sutton said. "He’s one of Silas Rowan’s n."

Bodyguard: ’Since when did I beco one of Young Master Rowan’s n?’

It suddenly clicked for Claire rcer. "No wonder he’s so respectful to you."

"But from the looks of it, you and Silas Rowan must be on pretty good terms."

"Yes." Adrian Sutton began to spin a tale. "I saved his life when we were kids."

"So he’s willing to help out with small things like this."

Claire rcer nodded thoughtfully. "I see."

"But I can’t keep calling in favors. People would look down on ."

"As for the interrogation, do you want to stay and watch?"

"No, that’s okay."

Claire rcer recalled the bloody scenes from television dramas, knowing they would be deeply unsettling.

"Alright. Since he’s taking over here, let’s go get so breakfast first."

"You didn’t sleep well last night. After breakfast, you should go back and get so sleep."

Claire rcer nodded.

She knew she shouldn’t be present for the coming interrogation.

The thods those powerful, elite families used for interrogation were beyond her imagination.

’But since this driver was Mrs. Sinclair’s stooge, he deserved to suffer a little.’

’He was the one who chose to help a villain do her dirty work.’

anwhile, after Mrs. Sinclair returned to the Sinclair estate, she was so furious she had to take two quick-acting heart pills just to calm down.

She had been seething the entire way back.

The thought of being outsmarted by that little bitch Claire rcer only made her angrier.

’She, the grand champion of the Sinclair family’s internal struggles, had actually been played by a re slip of a girl. How could she not be furious?’

"Where’s Gavin? Hasn’t anyone reached him yet?"

Gavin was the driver’s na.

The person in charge of contacting Gavin nodded timidly.

She’d had soone try to contact him the mont she left the hotel, but he had been unreachable ever since.

"What happened last night... could it be that Gavin betrayed ?"

’Otherwise, how could Claire rcer have seen through such a flawless plan?’

The old nanny said, "Madam, Gavin has worked for the Sinclair family for many years. He probably wouldn’t, and he wouldn’t dare..."

"Think about it, he has no reason to betray our Sinclair family."

"Besides a pretty face, what benefits could that Claire rcer possibly offer Gavin?"

"And the task you gave him was precisely to defile her. Why would he refuse?"

Mrs. Sinclair was so angry she was starting to get confused.

After hearing the old nanny’s words, she felt that it did make so sense.

"I doubt he’d have the guts," Mrs. Sinclair said.

"Besides, wasn’t Claire rcer unconscious at the ti?"

"Unless she sensed your plan and was only pretending to be unconscious."

"And we acted completely normal yesterday. How could Claire rcer have possibly noticed anything?"

"That little brat was either putting on an act, or she had soone helping her from behind the scenes."

Mrs. Sinclair scoffed.

’She’s just an adopted daughter of the rcer Family, with no power or influence. Who would risk offending my Sinclair Family to help her?’

Mrs. Sinclair was quite confident in the Sinclair Family’s power and status in Rhonia.

Plus, Claire rcer’s social circle had always been small; she had investigated this thoroughly two years ago.

In the two years since her marriage, she had beco even more of a recluse, spending all her ti taking care of that precious grandson of hers.

’Where would she have t so powerful family willing to offend the Sinclairs just to help her?’

But despite her words, Mrs. Sinclair still felt sothing was fishy.

Otherwise, how could Cynthia Sinclair have ended up in the room she had specifically arranged for Claire rcer?

"That little bitch..."

"She always pretends to be so gentle and obedient, but to think she’s this cunning."

Just thinking about Claire rcer made the old woman’s chest tighten with a suffocating anger.

The old nanny asked, "So, what do you plan to do about this, Ma’am?"

Mrs. Sinclair said, "If she doesn’t bring it up, we’ll pretend it never happened."

"As for her wanting a divorce, that won’t happen unless Gavin finds a more suitable marriage partner."

"Otherwise, she can forget about leaving my Sinclair Family so easily."

"The Sinclair Family isn’t so place she can just waltz into and out of as she pleases."

"A mber of my Sinclair Family isn’t soone for a little, ill-bred hussy like her to reject."

The old nanny said no more.

’But the old madam’s words were a bit too harsh.’

’When you really thought about it, Claire rcer was quite pitiful.’

’Pitiful or not.’

’In the end, this was just her unfortunate fate.’

「anwhile, on Claire rcer’s end.」

Adrian Sutton’s subordinate had already tortured the driver to the point of a ntal breakdown.

It wasn’t through bloody, abusive thods of torture.

Rather, they had simply locked him in a confined space, inflicting psychological tornt.

The driver’s resilience was fragile, and after no more than two hours, he broke and confessed everything.

After getting the recording of his confession, Claire rcer’s hatred for Mrs. Sinclair made her gnash her teeth.

’Rembering that the old woman’s loving smiles had all been an act, a wave of nausea washed over her.’

’In front of others, the old woman put on a great show of protecting her.’

’Saying that Claire was the daughter-in-law she had hand-picked and that she had to protect her.’

’But in reality?’

’Behind her back, she used such filthy thods to plot against her.’

’One day, she would expose the old woman’s hypocritical, vicious true colors to the world.’

After the hotel incident, Mrs. Sinclair didn’t contact Claire rcer again.

And Claire, for the ti being, had no desire to play nice with them either.

Adrian Sutton had told her to wait for the right mont.

When the ti ca, not only could she smoothly divorce Gavin Sinclair,

but exposing the Sinclair Family’s true face would also be on the agenda.

And that mont arrived very soon.
