Claire rcer felt that bringing up the divorce with the Sinclair family again was like talking to a brick wall.

They were now staunchly against her divorcing Gavin Sinclair, and for the life of her, she couldn’t figure out why.

However, she refused to believe the Sinclair family could truly pull all the strings.

The Sinclair family’s status in Rhonia was indeed quite high.

After all, to hold the title of Rhonia’s wealthiest family, they must have connections in all sorts of places.

But there was always a bigger fish in the sea.

Right now, her only hope was Silas Rowan.

If she couldn’t get this divorce even with Silas’s help, she would still choose to file a lawsuit.

She didn’t mind blowing things up; in fact, causing a city-wide scandal would be even better.

After all, in her two years of marriage, she had treated every single mber of the Sinclair family with a clear conscience.

It was Gavin Sinclair who had cheated, and his mistress was even pregnant.

This was proof of his infidelity during their marriage.

Even if the judge was bribed by the Sinclairs, he would still have to consider the direction of public opinion.

With that in mind, Claire rcer decided to completely check out in front of the Sinclair family.

"Since you won’t agree to the divorce, then don’t expect to keep slaving away for Gavin Sinclair like I used to."

Rose Gable’s voice turned shrill as she asked:

"What do you an, slaving away? Have we, the Sinclair family, mistreated you in any way?"

Then, she haughtily ordered Claire rcer.

"Hurry up and pack a few sets of clothes for Gavin, and buy him so toiletries..."

Claire rcer cut her off coolly.

"Please call his mistress. I don’t have ti right now."

"Claire rcer, what is this attitude of yours?" Rose Gable was so angry she could barely breathe.

"I am your mother-in-law! Is this how you speak to your mother-in-law?"

Claire rcer let out a soft laugh. "If you can’t accept it, then let Gavin Sinclair divorce ."

"You..."

"It’s late, and I’m going to bed. I’ll hang up now." With that, Claire rcer ended the call with Rose Gable.

’As for these Sinclairs, I have no intention of waiting on them anymore.’

’If I can get a divorce, I will.’

’If I can’t, I’ll just let everything go to hell.’

’In any case, they can forget about being their naive, free-of-charge nanny like before.’

However, she couldn’t continue living in Crestfall Villa anymore.

First, she was already determined to divorce Gavin Sinclair.

This villa had been a gift to her from Mrs. Sinclair.

Since they were getting a divorce, she wanted to make a clean break.

Even though she deserved it, she didn’t want to have any strings attached.

Second, Gavin Sinclair had been acting like a savage lately.

She was afraid it wouldn’t be safe for her to keep living here alone.

Last ti, she had managed to escape with Scarlett Jewel’s help. Today, she had sought assistance from Adrian Sutton.

But what about next ti?

There wouldn’t always be soone to help her.

Instead of worrying that the beast would co and harass her again...

...it would be better to take advantage of his leg injury and find a place outside right away.

Claire rcer planned to start looking for an apartnt tomorrow.

The only problem was, her family, the rcers, had always been very stingy with her.

She had paid for her own college tuition and living expenses by working part-ti jobs.

Although her designs had won awards and brought her fa a couple of years ago...

...she had long since spent all the prize money trying to please Rose Gable and the others.

So she really didn’t have much in savings now and could only rent a place for the ti being.

’I wonder what the apartnt Adrian Sutton rents is like, and if it’s expensive.’

「anwhile.」

The results from the CT scan and X-ray showed that Gavin Sinclair had fractured his right kneecap.

This was particularly troubleso for him, as both of his knees had been injured before and had taken a long ti to heal.

Now, one was fractured again, which was quite a hassle.

"Thankfully, it’s just a fracture, not completely shattered."

"Because your situation is more unique than most, besides being hospitalized for half a month, you’ll need to be in a cast for the next six months."

"And from now on, you can’t do any strenuous exercise, or you’ll risk damaging the bone a third ti."

Hearing he’d need a cast for half a year, Gavin Sinclair let out a howl.

"A cast for half a year?"

The doctor nodded. "That’s right. Otherwise, it could easily get displaced."

"If it gets displaced, your kneecap will bend incorrectly in the future, and you’ll walk with a deford, limping gait."

At these words, Gavin Sinclair sucked in a sharp breath of cold air.

’A deford, limping gait?’

’How would that be any different from being disabled?’

In contrast to Gavin Sinclair’s agitation, Rose Gable was clearly relieved.

"A cast is just a cast. It’s not like he won’t be able to move in the future."

After all, her son had been in a wheelchair for a full year and a half before.

For the first six months of that, he could only lie in bed to recover, unable to move at all.

Only later did he slowly start using a wheelchair.

Back then, the doctors had said there wasn’t much hope for his legs to recover.

Fortunately, he slowly recovered and was fully healed later on.

So now, as long as her son’s leg wasn’t left with a permanent disability, she could accept the situation.

"Forget about being hospitalized for half a month. Let’s have him recover at the old Sinclair residence."

’Anyway, the Sinclair Family has a family doctor who can co over anyti to monitor his injury and change his dressings.’

’The hospital is just a hassle, and the doctors and nurses probably won’t look after him as diligently.’

So, Rose Gable called the driver over to help her get Gavin Sinclair into the car.

Once in the car, she finally asked Gavin Sinclair.

"How on earth did you end up like this?"

"Your face is swollen, your arm is scratched up, and now your leg is fractured..."

"Who did this? I’ll kill them."

She couldn’t even bear to scold her precious son, yet soone had beaten him to this state.

Gavin Sinclair was actually debating whether or not to reveal everything that happened tonight.

After a mont of hesitation, he decided against it.

’If the family found out that Claire rcer was the one who scratched his arm... they might kick her out in a fit of rage.’

’He wanted to keep her by his side, to slowly wear her down.’

He used to think Claire rcer was a very boring woman.

She was always dressed like a frumpy housewife, never putting herself together or wearing makeup.

When she was with him, she was always ek and submissive, terrified of annoying him.

But recently, he had discovered that not only was she beautiful, but she also had a smoking hot body.

Even her personality was so fiery, a world of difference from before.

The more she disliked him now, the more he wanted to conquer her.

"Just drop it. It’s not that serious."

’But who was that person who kicked from behind?’

’If I find out who it was, I definitely won’t let them off the hook.’

’Could it have been that pretty boy?’

’He’d already thought the way that pretty boy looked at Claire rcer was anything but innocent.’

’Not only was he trying to steal my wife, but he also dared to launch a sneak attack from behind.’

’He’d better hope I don’t find out it was really him.’

’Otherwise, I’ll definitely teach him a lesson.’

The car soon arrived at the Sinclair residence.

When Mrs. Sinclair saw her precious grandson in a wheelchair with a face swollen like a pig’s head and his arm wrapped in gauze, she jumped in fright.

With trembling hands, she caressed his swollen face, then lightly touched the blood-soaked gauze on his arm.

When she finally saw that he was back in a wheelchair again, she nearly fainted.

The maid quickly pressed a hand to Mrs. Sinclair’s chest to help her calm down, and it took a long mont for her to recover.

"What happened? Who did this to you?"

Gavin Sinclair said, "It’s nothing, just a minor injury. Don’t worry, Grandma."

"Where’s Claire rcer?" Mrs. Sinclair looked around but didn’t see her. "Why didn’t she co back with you?"

At the ntion of Claire rcer, Rose Gable perked up with indignation.

"Hmph. That little bitch said she won’t be taking care of Gavin anymore."

"She even told us to go find the mistress Gavin is keeping on the side..."

Hearing this, a vicious light instantly flared in Mrs. Sinclair’s murky eyes.

"She’s in open rebellion."

’Then she shouldn’t bla for showing her no rcy.’
