Several people turned their heads and saw Qin Ren standing there, holding a plate of raw salmon fish slices. They understood when they saw the frightened little maid.

Grandma Qin stepped forward and quickly put the plate of raw salmon fish slices aside where Zhouzhou couldn't see them. She asked, "What are you doing with that, Ren?"

Confused by Zhouzhou's reaction, Qin Ren explained, "Third Elder Uncle just had soone deliver this. He said Third Elder Aunt likes to eat it and asked to bring it to her."

Oh, Third Elder Aunt happens to live in the room next to the study. Going there would definitely pass by here.

It was just a coincidence that Zhouzhou was about to go out, and the fear she had just put down resurfaced.

Grandma Qin sighed and couldn't help but glare at Qin Lie again. If it weren't for this unreliable dad, Zhouzhou wouldn't have been scared by a plate of raw salmon fish slices like this.

Thinking about this made her headache. She approached Zhouzhou, picked her up, felt her trembling little body, and couldn't help but feel sorry for her once again.

She gently touched Zhouzhou's bald head and said softly, "Zhouzhou, don't be afraid. This is fish at, and you've seen it on the dining table just now. Don't you rember?"

Upon hearing this, Zhouzhou cautiously stuck her head out and whispered, "Really? It's not human flesh?"

Hearing this, Qin Ren at the door furrowed his eyebrows. Where did this little one get all these strange ideas? How could she think he was holding a plate of human flesh? He wasn't a pervert.

"Of course not," Grandma Qin said with a smile as she looked at Zhouzhou. She carried her to the door and picked up the plate of raw salmon fish slices. "Look, see if it's fish."

Seeing the pieces of at, Zhouzhou hid in her embrace again. After a while, she cautiously leaned over and sniffed, and her expression relaxed. A smile curved on her lips. "It's fish."

Although she had never eaten fish at, there was indeed the sll of fish on it. She was just scared by a glance and didn't see it clearly.

"That's what I said. How could your Eldest Brother ever hold a plate of human flesh? If he dares to do that, Grandma will report him to the police before you," Grandma Qin said with a smile, patting her head. She then glanced at the eldest grandson, hoping to improve their relationship, and coaxed, "So, Zhouzhou, what should you do since you misunderstood your Eldest Brother?"

Zhouzhou was puzzled for a mont, then whispered, "Apologize."

"Yes, that's right. Zhouzhou, go and apologize to your Eldest Brother," Grandma Qin said.

Hesitating for a mont upon hearing this, Zhouzhou finally shook her little feet, indicating that she wanted to be put down. She then glanced at Qin Ren secretly, who still scared her little bit. But thinking that Grandma was by her side, she gathered her courage, grabbed his sleeve to please him, gently shook it, and wore a well-behaved smile on her face. "Eldest Brother, I'm sorry.

I misunderstood you. Can you forgive ?"

"Hmm, I can," Qin Ren looked at her, though he didn't understand where this little girl got such a big misunderstanding about him, he didn't make things difficult for her either.

Seeing that he was so easy to talk to, Zhouzhou was sowhat surprised, her eyes widened a bit.

Round and shiny, she looked a little silly.

Qin Ren couldn't help but reach out his hand to touch her head, but Zhouzhou quickly reacted, swiftly retreated two steps, and hid behind Grandma Qin.

She was still scared of him.

Qin Ren sighed softly, feeling a bit puzzled as he looked at her.

Upon seeing this, Grandma Qin understood what was on his mind, but it wouldn't be appropriate to discuss childish matters involving his youngest son in front of his nephew. She coughed lightly and said, "Weren't you supposed to go deliver the raw fish slices to your Third Elder Aunt? Hurry up and go."

"Mm." Qin Ren nodded, greeted Qin Lie and Grandpa Qin, and then left.

After taking a few steps, he noticed the little one by Grandma Qin's leg still walking in the opposite direction. It was quite amusing.

His little cousin seed clever, but sotis she could be silly too.

It's really cute.

As she watched him walk into the room, Grandma Qin coaxed Zhouzhou for a while before letting her go play. Then she returned to the study, walked over to the sofa with a hint of annoyance, and lightly patted her youngest son. "Look at how scared you made Zhouzhou. She's most afraid of scientists now. They two are siblings, but you caused trouble for them with just a few words."

"Who would have expected her to be so easily deceived?"

Grandma Qin widened her eyes. "From the way you're speaking, are you blaming Zhouzhou?"

Qin Lie remained silent.

She continued, "Children tend to take what adults say seriously. Zhouzhou grew up in the mountains, she's innocent, and she sees you as her dad. Naturally, she believes whatever you say."

Upon hearing this, Qin Lie paused for a mont, a flicker of deep thought passing through his eyes.

Observing his reaction, Grandma Qin patted his shoulder and said earnestly, "Being a father is a long-term commitnt. You still have a lot to learn."

After speaking, she noticed he didn't object and furrowed her brows slightly.

It seed that this kid already started thinking of himself as Zhouzhou's father. Otherwise, he would have left with his poker face by now.

Just as she thought, who wouldn't like Zhouzhou?

So cute.

The next day, Qin Feng opened his eyes, feeling exceptionally refreshed from a good night's sleep.

As he looked at the light streaming in through the window, he suddenly realized sothing and sat up abruptly, touching his knee.

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt here last night!

"... After eating it, you won't feel any pain when you sleep at night."

Zhouzhou's words echoed in his mind, and Qin Feng couldn't help but cover his mouth in disbelief. Could it be that the dicine she gave him really worked?

Excitent filled his heart.

When Wen Yao entered the room, she saw him sitting there in a daze. She walked over and touched his head, smiling as she asked, "What's wrong?"

"Mom, I..." Qin Feng looked at her, intending to tell her about what happened. But he was afraid that it might just be a coincidence, and he didn't want to get her hopes up for nothing. So he swallowed his words, cald his emotions, smiled, and shook his head. "It's nothing, I'm just not fully awake yet."

Without thinking much, Wen Yao helped him change his clothes and then carried him onto the wheelchair.

Qin Feng looked at her delicate face, feeling a mix of emotions.

He was still young, and his mother could still carry him. But what about when he grew up and beca heavier? He couldn't rely on his mother forever, nor burden her for a lifeti.

If only he could stand up and be like other children.

At that thought, hope flickered in his eyes.

He thought he had already given up on that dream long ago, but it turned out that it still lingered in his heart.

Afraid of revealing his thoughts, he quickly lowered his head. Just as Wen Yao was about to push him out, he suddenly said, "Mom, wait a mont. I dropped sothing."

With that, he maneuvered the wheelchair himself, went to the table, and took out the dicine Zhouzhou had given him from the drawer, tightly grasping it in his hand. He felt an unprecedented sense of security.

Perhaps, Zhouzhou could really cure him?

Just as he was lost in thought, soone knocked on the door. Qin Ren entered with a stack of docunts and said, "Little Feng, we've identified the ingredients in the dicine..."
