Shao Yichen didn't know what Li Xingyu and Brother Lezi discussed, but by the ti she woke up the next day, Li Xingyu was already fully dressed and ready to board the return flight with everyone, having risen much earlier than her.

While he had returned, his agent Luo Anan was nowhere to be seen.

Sensing gossip, Shao Yichen secretly questioned Li Xingyu. He answered quite honestly: "Le Ziyao took her away."

Just as Shao Yichen was about to say "as I expected," Li Xingyu casually added: "He plans to temporarily leave the entertainnt industry, and Luo Anan went back to help minimize the impact on his popularity."

Shao Yichen: "Oh... wait, what?! Brother Lezi... Xiao Yao is leaving the industry?!"

Having received this shocking news ahead of the entertainnt world, Shao Yichen was stunned.

Brother Lezi, or by his stage na, Xiao Yao, the walking bomb of GG boy band, frequently made outrageous statents, was impetuous, rose to fa by constantly stirring up controversies, and had many haters as well as fans.

Although his exposure had reportedly decreased drastically during the six-month hiatus of group activities, a lean cal was still larger than a horse—even without any promotional activities, Xiao Yao had more fans than Shao Yichen—even more than the vast majority of people in the entertainnt industry.

She could already imagine the bloodbath that would erupt on forums after Brother Lezi's withdrawal.

"Why on earth is he leaving the industry?" Shao Yichen couldn't help but ask. "Isn't it nice to just take selfies, sing songs, and earn money while lying down?"

Li Xingyu replied calmly: "He wants to focus on being an evil capitalist for a while."

Shao Yichen was montarily speechless. That was quite a unique reason...

After a long silence, she could only repeat: "Indeed worthy of being an evil capitalist."

Li Qianqian chid in from the side: "Boss, you're also one of the capitalists—your company is about to go public! Probably around the ti we finish filming!"

Shao Yichen: ...Couldn't you leave your boss so face?

Thinking of future performance bonuses, Li Qianqian cheerfully continued: "Anyway, President Shao, don't forget to cut the ribbon at the ceremony. I'll arrange everything else before we wrap up filming. Now, it's ti to board. We should get going!"

Hearing this, Li Xingyu stood up, his expression thoughtful.

After returning to the set, Shao Yichen imrsed herself back into the intensive filming.

The upcoming plot involved the demonic cult kidnapping the female lead to threaten the male lead. Although the male lead didn't have deep feelings for the female lead, being righteous, he couldn't stand by and watch her fall into the demonic cult's hands. Additionally, he believed it was his closeness to her that had endangered her, so he stubbornly insisted on rescuing her.

He had originally thought the Heart Demon wouldn't accompany him, but unexpectedly, the Heart Demon followed.

His ostensible reason was that the Heart Demon had already developed feelings for the female lead—indeed, the Heart Demon, as the second male lead, had fallen for the female lead even earlier than the male lead himself.

After all, strictly speaking, the Heart Demon and Qi Changge were one entity, an embodint of Qi Changge's desires, naturally recognizing his own feelings a step ahead of the male lead. Previously, when he had deliberately created an encounter with the female lead, wanting to stay overnight at her ho, it was partly for amusent, but also because he had fallen in love with her at first sight.

Beyond love at first sight, however, the Heart Demon had other motives—he secretly wanted to replace Qi Changge's original body, and for this, he needed to infiltrate the demonic cult to seek thods of soul possession. With the male lead as cover, his objective of infiltrating the demonic cult could be accomplished more efficiently.

With different thoughts but ultimately acting toward the sa goal, the duo faced nurous difficulties on their infiltration journey but managed to penetrate deep into the demonic cult.

The current plot developnt had the Heart Demon making excuses to lure away other cult mbers. After exchanging disguises with the male lead, they split up, with the Heart Demon actually going to the cult's book repository to search for texts related to soul possession. anwhile, male lead Qi Changge discovered the female lead imprisoned in the dungeon. To avoid alerting the guards, he couldn't speak, so he wrote on her palm to explain what was happening. Fearing her eyes might be damaged by sudden exposure to light after long confinent, he tore off a piece of his sleeve to blindfold her, then led her forward by the hand.

Inevitably, they encountered demonic cult pursuers on the way, and the male lead engaged in combat with them in the tunnel to protect the female lead.

This was the scene they were about to film.

When she first read this part of the story in the novel, Shao Yichen had been full of criticism.

Could the male lead really not see that his Heart Demon was problematic?! Or was it because the person had the sa face as himself that he let down his guard?! How could he not sense that sothing was seriously wrong with the Heart Demon given such a dramatic personality difference? Were people in this world all lovesick?

And having managed to sneak into the dungeon, wasn't the most important thing to get the female lead out first?! Whether carrying her on his shoulders or in his arms, Duan Wenyue was always dieting, so thin that she probably weighed less than the sword on his back—wouldn't it be easier to simply take her away? Why insist on blindfolding her and making her walk by herself? Was he afraid they'd move too quickly and the pursuers wouldn't catch up?

And the female lead! Just because the male lead changed into black clothes, how could she mistake him for the Heart Demon? Couldn't she tell from the two characters' attitudes? Simply because she fainted after leaving the dungeon, then woke up to find herself clutching a black cloth, she mistook the male lead for the Heart Demon and developed feelings?

This made absolutely no sense!

But since the novel's plot was set this way, Shao Yichen could only grit her teeth and continue filming, while trying to use Li Xingyu's acting skills and good looks to compensate for the plot's deficiencies.

The evidence proved... that good looks could indeed effectively mitigate the aura of diminished intelligence.

Looking at Li Xingyu's performance through the cara lens, Shao Yichen gradually found this plot segnt more bearable.

But soon, this plot would reach its peak of technical display and intelligence reduction—the scene where the male lead fought beside the female lead.

In the pitch-black dungeon, Qi Changge and the young woman walked forward, one after the other.

The young woman's eyes were blindfolded, but knowing it was for her protection, she hadn't considered removing it and could only grip Qi Changge's hand tightly in the darkness.

She didn't know the identity of her rescuer, only that his hand was warm and strong, guiding her forward. Gradually, the young woman began to relax, her heartbeat slowly steadying.

However, their escape was destined not to be so smooth.

Suddenly, several silver flashes streaked through the air. Qi Changge reacted swiftly, imdiately pulling the female lead close and spinning around, narrowly avoiding these hidden weapons.

"Pursuers have co," no longer needing to hide his voice now that they'd been discovered, he spoke in a deep tone to the female lead. "Don't move. I'll handle this."

Blindfolded, the female lead couldn't see the pursuers surrounding them and could only nod anxiously.

The sound of weapons clashing intensified around them.

Qi Changge drew his sword and began fighting with the pursuers. His movents appeared simple yet were naturally offensive and defensive, protecting the young woman at the center.

His black robe fluttered as he fought multiple opponents without falling behind, quickly finding their weaknesses.

"Go!" Not lingering in battle, he wrapped his arm around the young woman's waist. With spiritual energy circulating, they instantly leaped far away.

The young woman, pressed against his chest, hadn't had ti to say anything when she felt the person holding her pause and emit a muffled groan.

She imdiately tensed up: "What... what's wrong?"

"It's nothing," she felt him shake his head, but his voice seed forced out through his throat, carrying unmistakable pain.

"You must have been hit by a hidden weapon!" She grew more anxious. "Are you all right? Should we stop—"

Before she could finish, she slled a strange odor.

—Was it a mind-bewitching powder? Or...

Before she could identify it, she lost her strength and fell unconscious.

"Cut!"

After finishing this seemingly disconnected scene, Shao Yichen breathed a sigh of relief.

The upcoming scenes would probably involve the male and female leads waking up separately, confronting the final BOSS, and recalling their past life storylines.

In the male and female leads' storyline, there were essentially no major logical issues left—or rather, because the remaining plot developed so rapidly, Shao Yichen believed audiences would likely have no brainpower left to consider logical problems...

She let out a long breath, feeling one worry had been resolved.

Li Xingyu, having removed his makeup, also approached Shao Yichen. But his expression wasn't as relaxed as hers; he was slightly frowning.

Shao Yichen glanced at his expression, finding it a bit strange: "What's wrong? Being able to perform this kind of, um, plot so naturally, I think your performance already outshines many young actors..."

Li Xingyu hesitated: "Actually... I feel so of my emotional expressions weren't quite on point. I'd like to discuss this with Director Shao."

Wow, even Li "Future Film Emperor" Xingyu had such concerns? Shao Yichen sat up straight like a carp flipping.

...Then deflated slowly like a leaking balloon.

Issues that Li Xingyu himself couldn't resolve, she probably couldn't solve either... If she were still like before, without any quality requirents for the film, she might have been able to bluff her way through with so nonsense. But now, having developed genuine expectations for the film, especially for Li Xingyu's acting, she didn't dare approach things carelessly as before.

"Well—" she racked her brains but couldn't think of a reason, so she honestly said, "This film's script is adapted from the original novel. Rather than asking , it might be more appropriate to ask the original author. Or you could search for related comnts—the readers in the comnt sections are all talented individuals who speak pleasantly. You might find inspiration there..."

Unexpectedly, hearing this, Li Xingyu still didn't give up.

"Director Shao, I understand that," he frowned. "But previously, when I encountered bottlenecks, I wasn't clear about what mindset the character should have in the scene."

"This ti is different... I know what emotions the Heart Demon should have, but find it difficult to empathize with him. I can't seem to get into the right state."

"Director Shao, I'd like to rehearse a scene with you—I feel that perhaps this way, I might gain so insight."

Li Xingyu's gaze was intense as he looked at Shao Yichen.
