Harry Hunter gazed at her rare radiant smile, and his mood brightened along with it.
"It’s just a watch. I gifted you a company that’s worth far more, and you didn’t want it. What’s so special about this watch?"
"Nothing special."
Isabella Weaver hugged Harry Hunter’s waist, almost excited enough to kiss him.
"This watch was given to by my dad after my sister didn’t want it. It was the first gift I ever received, and I’ve always cherished it, wearing it for many years. It was always with , until, to buy for Milo..."
Isabella stopped mid-sentence.
Harry was listening intently and couldn’t help but ask, "Why did you stop?"
Isabella blinked, "Can I ntion Milo Field?"
"Why not?"
"Didn’t you... ask not to ntion my cousin? So I thought ex-boyfriends were even more off-limits."
Harry smiled lightly, "It’s best not to ntion them, but occasionally, it’s okay."
The little girl was considerate of his feelings, worried he’d be uncomfortable, and wouldn’t tell her story.
But she didn’t know that, in Harry’s mind, Milo Field was not on the sa level as Alexander Parker.
He didn’t think Milo Field had any chance, but it was different with Alexander Parker.
Alexander Parker had all the ti and place advantages!
He was just a bit short on the "people" advantage.
"Then I’ll continue."
Isabella leaned against Harry’s chest, being able to talk about Milo Field so calmly for the first ti.
"I sold the watch to pay for the down paynt on a car for Milo Field. The first ti I t you, the car had just been bought a few days before. After catching him with my good friend, I regretted selling that watch every day. It almost beca my obsession. I always wanted to make money quickly to redeem it, so it wouldn’t be bought by soone else."
As Harry listened, he suddenly frowned and said coldly, "You sold a watch you cherished so much to buy him a car? You bought him a car? A car?"
Isabella was stunned; why was he suddenly so agitated? Didn’t he just calmly say it was okay to ntion it?
Sure enough, a man’s heart is like a needle in the sea, hard to fathom!
She quickly comforted him: "No, no, it hasn’t been reclaid yet, he didn’t get anything!" From now on, Milo Field should never be ntioned again!
Harry was still unhappy!
She was so broke, working every day, scraping by, and yet she was so generous to her boyfriend that she bought him a luxury Land Rover!
His mind soured: "You’ve never given anything, wife!"
Every ti Harry called her "wife," Isabella’s heart would tremble, and her voice would turn gentle: "That’s my fault. Whatever you want, pick it yourself, and I’ll buy it for you."
"Did Milo choose the car you bought for him?"
"Yes!"
"Then I don’t want that, I want sothing you choose yourself!"
"But I don’t know what you like, what if I pick the wrong thing..."
"No, as long as it’s sothing you choose with care, I’ll like it!"
"Okay, let think."
Isabella was a little troubled. She was not very good at buying things for n, especially since Harry had high taste. He owned everything at ho, clothes, shoes, even cars, in various styles, more complete than hers.
It couldn’t be too cheap, as it wouldn’t match Harry’s class.
But it couldn’t be too expensive either, as she was quite strapped for cash.
Isabella pondered hard for a while, and then her eyes suddenly lit up.
Harry couldn’t help but inquire, "What are you planning to give ?"
Isabella looked up with a smile, "It’s a secret!"
