Every day, goblins died of old age. Compared to humans and other creatures, goblins had a much shorter lifespan. After their brief youth and longest period of adulthood, they quickly approached death.

Upon death, goblins first attempted to transform into Black Knights, and those who couldn’t be transford were simply thrown into the Demon Pool to beco Demon Worms.

In life, they toiled for the Demon King Territory, and in death, they beca materials of flesh and blood.

This was the aning of the Demon King’s "slaves." In contrast, in the empire, while peasants didn’t have enough to eat or wear and were continuously exploited and persecuted, at least after death they could be wrapped in straw mats and buried in pits.

More well-off civilians could have a gravesite and descendants to pay respects. Which side was better? That might be up to individual interpretation.

Yila actually thought the Demon King Territory was better. Maybe, to so extent, this could be seen as a kind of "Heroic Spirit Hall." Although it was unknown whether the souls resided together, at least there was so hope after death.

Rather than casting aspirations on a nonexistent Divine Country.

The deities in this world weren’t worshipped to such extres. Compared to gods worship, it was more like idol worship. Perhaps it was because the gods in this world genuinely existed...

*Was this sothing that could be said?*

...

Today, Yila had a rare good night’s sleep. He woke up around noon—another day with no work, just patiently *waiting*.

Waiting for Cassiopeia’s caravan, waiting for Duke Novak’s caravan, waiting for the brewing of White Ball Wine...

Yila groggily sat up and put on the ticulously folded coat lying by his bed... He always wore this set. Occasionally, Tipcapu would take his coat to clean while he slept.

But it wasn’t actually necessary. The special spell on the coat prevented it from getting dirty.

"Tipcapu."

Yila said as he watched the young succubus appear in the room instantly, her figure shifting from ethereal to solid. Rubbing his eyes, he asked, "Did anything happen in the Demon King Territory this morning?"

*Asking about work right after waking up?*

Tipcapu wondered but seriously replied, "I don’t know. I spent the morning practicing my punches. When you and His Majesty the Demon King aren’t training, I practice boxing."

Yila knew this, as evident from the bandages on Tipcapu’s hands.

"I’ll go ask Lady Hilena."

Tipcapu stood up, ready to disappear, but Yila waved him off, stopping him, "No need; I’ll go see her later."

"Yes! Do you need to assist with your washing up?"

"No... but can you bring the basin and toothbrush? Thanks."

Still not accustod to being served, Yila watched Tipcapu disappear and then reappear, carrying a wooden basin, a small white branch, and a small dish of white, translucent salt with so impurities.

"Lord Yila? Do you want to chew the branch for you?"

Tipcapu asked, pointing to the small branch with his cherry-small mouth and neat white teeth. He was quickly rejected and sent off by Yila... Co back later to collect the washing tools.

A slightly more energized Yila put the branch in his mouth, chewing it to turn the fine fibers at the tip into a brush—this world’s toothbrush.

Of course, this "thorny branch" was used only by the nobility. It didn’t taste bitter and didn’t leave fiber shards in the mouth.

Civilians could use cloth to wipe their teeth, often for years. Peasants didn’t brush at all and had missing teeth due to tough bread.

Yila dipped the chewed brush into salt and began brushing. Thorny flower powder balanced the salt’s taste, and he had grown used to this world’s hygiene habits.

The empire was the birthplace of thorny flowers, even the national flower being the thorny flower. Thorny flower powder was considered a spice and good for teeth.

It also freshened breath.

For Yila, these small brown flowers the size of a fingernail were similar to cloves from his forr world but not quite the sa.

Only the nobility could enjoy this, and even then, there was a vast disparity... Even empire civilians couldn’t afford to brush with salt.

In Demon King City, even inferior demons and goblins didn’t brush their teeth. Yila was lucky to have normal hygiene, thanks to the succubi.

And Satan Ye, of course.

Most demons didn’t need to brush their teeth. Even if they wished to, Headless Knights, Black Knights, and chanical Bodies couldn’t, and Insect n had no need to.

"Lord Yila? Are you awake?"

It seed Yila didn’t need to go; Hilena had co. Hearing her voice from outside, Yila rinsed his mouth with basin water and responded, "I’m awake. Did sothing happen?"

*Asking about work right after waking up?*

Hilena internally sighed, replying with concern, "The morning hunt caught a Water Teeth Beast. We’re preparing a feast, so I thought to wake you... Lord Yila, you’ve been nearly drained dry recently."

Here, "drained" probably ant exhausted, due to hard work. *Typical succubi, always picking the most misleading words.*

...

*What was this odd phrasing?* Though understandable as fatigue.

Yila internally groaned. He knew his body wasn’t tired, but his mind and spirit needed ti to recover. Nevertheless, he assured, "I’m fine, quite robust actually."

Yila chuckled lightly, purposefully using ambiguous words in reply to "drained." But Hilena blushed at his words.

"Understood, Lord Yila~"

...

No, wasn’t sothing off? *Why do you calmly say weird things but blush at not-so-weird words? What kind of succubus are you?*

Yila internally complained...
