Dumbstruck. The entire room fell into a dead silence.
Even the employees who had worked with Su Xiyang for many years hadn’t anticipated that she, who was always so polite and modest, would strike so fiercely.
Chen Wen stumbled, nearly tumbling to the ground.
"Have you forgotten? I have evidence of your daughter’s cri in my possession."
"I’ve already shown you enough courtesy. Don’t push your luck. Otherwise, the first one to be utterly disgraced will be that precious daughter of yours."
Looking down at Chen Wen, Su Xiyang spoke each word with ringing force.
Chen Wen covered her face, suddenly not daring to et Su Xiyang’s gaze.
Shen Fanyun realized this was a classic case of soone who preyed on the weak but feared the strong. As soon as you got aggressive, this Miss Chen imdiately beca as ek as a kitten.
"Get out of my way." Su Xiyang strode past Chen Wen, the tapping of her high heels receding into the distance.
Shen Fanyun followed her.
Su Ke, leaning on his cane, stood frozen in place for a long, long ti.
The dia he had conspired to bring had not only failed to pressure or affect Su Xiyang in any way, but had instead let everyone witness the Su Family’s shaful and wretched state.
Wasn’t this just shooting himself in the foot?
"Cri?"
"What did Su Ziye do? It looks like Su Xiyang really resents the Second Miss."
The onlookers murmured, their gazes on Su Ke and Chen Wen turning speculative.
Su Ke knew this was no place to linger, so he quickly pulled Chen Wen and left the scene.
Is Su Xiyang in a good mood? At least, her expression showed no displeasure.
"You’ve finally taken the step," Shen Fanyun said with an approving smile. He wholeheartedly supported her decision to break away from the Su Family.
Su Xiyang fell silent for a mont before letting out a long sigh. "I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing," she murmured to herself.
"I worked at that place for many years. It was like a child I’d raised myself, and now... it’s gone."
"If you don’t have ownership, no matter how well you do, you’re ultimately just sewing a wedding dress for soone else," Shen Fanyun said.
Su Xiyang nodded.
One day, if she really did manage to take the company public, given Su Ke’s favoritism, he would definitely transfer control to Su Ziye bit by bit. He would then kick her out of managent, perhaps even leaving her with nothing to her na.
In the past, Su Xiyang had these concerns, but she still believed that her grandfather would not be so cruel and heartless.
However, this incident had allowed her to see Su Ke’s true colors completely.
Since that’s the case, why should I keep working for Su Ziye or Su Ke?
"It looks like I’ll really have to go out and start my own business," Su Xiyang murmured, giving herself a silent pep talk. "A new life, a new path... It’s full of passion, but there’s so much pressure too."
"You can do it." Shen Fanyun stepped closer and patted her on the shoulder encouragingly.
Su Xiyang humd in acknowledgnt and said briskly, "I have plans to et so friends for afternoon tea. Shall we part ways here?"
"Hm?" Shen Fanyun muttered. Didn’t she ask to co out for coffee with her? Why is she ditching halfway?
"It was a spur-of-the-mont decision. I’ll get going now!" Su Xiyang waved to Shen Fanyun and strode off in her high heels before he could say a word, her figure receding into the distance.
This woman...
Shen Fanyun sighed. He had been hoping to finish their coffee and then get on with so ’couple activities’. A fine day like this shouldn’t be wasted.
And yet, the duck that was almost in his mouth had flown away!
Shen Fanyun patted his stomach with a feeling of frustrated loss. "My apologies, my friend down there," he muttered. "I’ve let you down. I’ll make it up to you next ti."
So, what now?
Shen Fanyun was currently no different from an unemployed loafer. If Su Xiyang hadn’t insisted on giving him the position of Head of Security, he would have nothing to do at all.
Su Xiyang was already far in the distance.
Shen Fanyun had to find so fun for himself; otherwise, this long afternoon would be too boring.
I wonder what that kid Zhan Feng has been up to lately.
Shen Fanyun pulled out his phone, about to contact his trusty subordinate, when his gaze lifted and he spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.
Lin iqing!
Today, Lin iqing was wearing a light blue, printed silk maxi dress that fell to her ankles, paired with white crystal-heeled shoes. Her top was a sleeveless white turtleneck blouse. It was a form-fitting style. This outfit perfectly outlined Lin iqing’s stunning figure, making her look like a priceless, breathtaking mural.
Her hair was piled high on her head, and even though she was in her early forties, her grace and charm were present in every move. Especially the line of her hips—firm but not plump, with a perfect curve that seed just right to fit a grown man’s palm.
The passersby who brushed past her all did a double-take, their eyes lingering on the beautiful woman.
After all, a mature, exquisite woman like her was a rare treasure indeed.
Lin iqing must have been using so rare free ti to go shopping.
Shen Fanyun was considering whether or not to greet her.
Unexpectedly, Lin iqing spotted him first. Her eyes lit up, and the corners of her lightly made-up lips curled into a smile.
"Xiao Shen?" Lin iqing sounded pleasantly surprised. She already had a good impression of Shen Fanyun, not to ntion he was undeniably handso.
In this world, it didn’t matter if you were a young girl or an older woman; a truly handso man would always be t with the greatest goodwill. It couldn’t be helped—a good-looking face was justice!
Shen Fanyun walked over. "Auntie, hello. What a coincidence running into you here."
"No work today?" Lin iqing asked curiously.
Shen Fanyun nodded. "I have the day off."
"I still haven’t properly thanked you for helping Jiajia with her plumbing the other day," Lin iqing said, raising a hand to shield her eyes from the sun.
It wasn’t clear if it was her natural body heat or if the sun was just particularly harsh today. Tiny beads of sweat had ford on her forehead, dampening a few wisps of hair and adding an extra touch of alluring charm.
"How about I treat you to afternoon tea?" Lin iqing suggested.
Shen Fanyun was used to dealing with won his own age. He had virtually no experience with a mature woman like Lin iqing, who was almost a full generation older than him.
He paused for a mont and then mustered a single word, "Okay."
"You don’t feel like you have nothing in common with an old auntie like , do you?"
Lin iqing covered her mouth with a light laugh, suspecting Shen Fanyun didn’t really want to spend ti with an older woman but was simply too polite to refuse.
"No, no, not at all! ’Aunties’ are the best, especially forty-year-old aunties. They’re not only mature and full of character, but..." Shen Fanyun joked, but he caught himself mid-sentence and quickly shut his mouth.
"You little rascal," Lin iqing said, giving Shen Fanyun a aningful look. Her beautiful eyes glanced up, as if to say she understood everything without a word.
Shen Fanyun was incredibly embarrassed. When will I ever learn to control this smart mouth of mine?
