Upon hearing that Qu Chaozong had been hospitalized with a fracture in his left leg, Zhang Xin’s grandfather quickly made a call to have him transferred to his room.

The old man said, "Anyway, we’re both here for recovery. With him lying beside , we can keep each other company."

The old man decided and arranged everything, and Qu Chaozong was transferred from orthopedics to internal dicine that very afternoon.

Mrs. Qu made two batches of soup, Zhang Xin served the old man, and Mrs. Qu served Qu Chaozong. With more people around, the atmosphere was lively.

The old man said, "If it could always be like this, I’d really be reluctant to leave the hospital. Usually, my Da Bao can’t possibly keep company every day like this. But now that you are all around , I’m really happy."

Zhang Xin said, "Grandpa, after you’re discharged this ti, I’ll accompany you every day. Chaozi and I will move in with you, and we’ll also bring my aunt over, so the four of us can live together as a family." Having said that, she asked Qu Chaozong, "Right, Chaozi?"

Upon hearing this, Qu Chaozong felt a pang of sadness but forced a smile, "Absolutely."

The old man laughed with his lips wide apart, as if he genuinely could see that day coming.

Zhao ii ca with her parents in the afternoon to visit Qu Chaozong.

Liu Xiue carried two insulated food containers filled with freshly stewed pig trotters.

Mrs. Qu took them, her lips wide apart with happiness, saying, "Chaozi, your aunt really cares about you and specially stewed pig trotters for you. Isn’t it said that you supplent what you eat? Pig trotters are great, full of collagen and nutritious."

Qu Chaozong jokingly said, "Oh my, won’t my foot be supplented into a pig trotter then?"

Everyone in the room laughed together.

While leaving the hospital to go ho, Zhao ii asked Shi Yang, "Brother, how did my Brother Chao hurt his leg?"

Shi Yang said, "He fell down the stairs."

Zhao ii exclaid, "That must hurt a lot! How could he just fall while walking normally? Was it at the hospital?"

Shi Yang: "Yes."

Zhao ii asked, "Then why didn’t the hospital take responsibility?"

Amused, Shi Yang asked, "He fell on his own, the hospital isn’t responsible."

Zhao ii said, "Rember when, hey brother, do you recall there was a kid who fell in front of the Naughty Castle, and you compensated her? How much did you pay? Wasn’t it five hundred? Didn’t she also fall on her own?"

Shi Yang said, "That’s not the sa."

Zhao ii: "What’s different about it?"

Shi Yang laughed, reaching out to rub her head playfully, "Don’t worry, your Brother Chao won’t be at a disadvantage. I’ll definitely help him get justice."

Zhao ii, catching those words quickly, asked, "Brother, was my Brother Chao hit by soone?"

Shi Yang did not want to say, "Alright, stop asking. What do you want to eat tonight? Should we go to the supermarket later? The fridge at ho is almost empty."

Zhao ii’s curiosity was piqued, demanding, "Brother, please tell what happened, I’m really curious."

Shi Yang, unable to avoid her pestering, eventually explained everything.

Zhao ii was furious after hearing, filled with righteous indignation, "Sun Yingyu must be crazy! My Brother Chao should have called the police, this is outright assault! Intentional injury! He’s committing a cri!"

Shi Yang reached out to grip Zhao ii’s neck from behind and squeezed it twice habitually to reassure her, "Don’t worry, I’ll take care of this, and I definitely won’t let your Brother Chao suffer."

Zhao ii angrily remarked, "Sun Yingyu is simply a madman! How can a person be so vile! That’s so wicked!"

Shi Yang advised her, "You just need to know about this, don’t tell anyone outside."

Zhao ii agreed up front but imdiately turned around and vented to Peng Hui.

Zhao ii said, "Your sister divorcing Sun Yingyu was the right decision, she shouldn’t have had kids with him, he’s just a madman."

Zhao ii eagerly recounted the incident to Peng Hui, whose face turned pale at once, and she grabbed Zhao ii asking, "Why didn’t you tell earlier! I must go see Brother Chao after school today, Sun Yingyu avenged himself on him because he saved my sister."

Peng Hui then recounted how Sun Yingyu had caused a scene in her sister’s hospital room and was eventually chased away by Qu Chaozong and the other patient’s family.

Zhao ii imdiately burst into anger, "Sun Yingyu is definitely retaliating against my Brother Chao!"

Peng Hui was equally enraged, "He’s really despicable, attacking from behind. If sothing really happens to Brother Chao, it would be unimaginable."

The two huddled together and cursed Sun Yingyu fiercely, unable to do much except relieve their anger verbally.

After school in the afternoon, Peng Hui insisted on taking Zhao ii to visit Qu Chaozong, and Zhao ii only then realized belatedly and stopped her, "My Brother Chao is currently in the sa ward as my sister-in-law’s grandpa, if you visit him, won’t the family find out how my Brother Chao got hurt! My Brother Chao doesn’t want others to know, you can’t go!"

Peng Hui was persuaded, feeling guilty, and insisted on dragging Zhao ii to the supermarket to buy two boxes of nutritional supplents, entrusting Zhao ii to deliver them.

Zhao ii had no choice but to carry the items and go to the hospital with Peng Hui. Peng Hui accompanied her in the elevator to the sixth floor, then turned to go to her sister’s ward.

Following Peng Hui’s instructions, Zhao ii handed the nutritional supplents to Zhang Xin, only saying she bought them herself.

Upon hearing this, the others imdiately started to reproach Zhao ii, saying that they’re all family and there’s no need to waste money!

Smiling apologetically, Zhao ii thought, Peng Hui, I’ve really gone all out for you.

While Zhao ii comforted Qu Chaozong, Peng Hui entered her sister’s ward. As soon as she walked in, she saw a bouquet of fragrance lilies placed on the cabinet next to the hospital bed, along with a thermal food container.

Peng Hui imdiately got angry and asked, "Sis, where did these things co from?"

Peng Rui said, "My mother-in-law and the others know I like flowers, so they specially brought them."

Without saying a word, Peng Hui went ahead and took the flowers out of the vase, rushing to the bathroom to throw them into the bin.

Peng Rui was dumbfounded, "Peng Hui, what are you doing?"

Peng Hui was still too young and couldn’t hold back her feelings. The more grateful she felt towards Qu Chaozong, the more guilty she felt, especially with her sister, the instigator, happily accepting everything.

Peng Rui could tell Peng Hui didn’t seem in a good mood, but she herself hadn’t been feeling great either. Ever since Sun Yingyu caused a commotion, her stomach had been uncomfortable. Yesterday, she heard from the pregnant woman in the next bed about fetal malformation issues, and her hypersensitive nerves imdiately spiraled out of control. The more she paid attention, the more she felt sothing was wrong with her stomach.

On top of these issues, she had no one to confide in, keeping everything bottled up, tornting herself with thoughts and feeling increasingly agitated.

Watching Peng Hui’s unruly actions, Peng Rui couldn’t help but complain, "The flowers were perfectly fine, why did you throw them away?"
