Chapter 891: Chapter 891 Thin-skinned

Wen Xuan stepped forward, smiling, and said to Qin Sisi, "Not bad, you’ve attracted fifteen butterflies in just half a day."

Qin Sisi curved the corners of her lips and asked crisply, "Your result must be better than mine, right? How many?"

Since Wen Xuan ca with Teacher Yirou, it indicated that he had also completed the task. Seeing that he remained fairly calm after noticing Qin Sisi had attracted fifteen butterflies, she guessed that his achievent must be even better than hers.

Wen Xuan smiled and replied, "Not too many, just two more than you, seventeen."

Qin Sisi nodded and said sincerely, "That’s pretty impressive, are you the top scorer?"

Wen Xuan nodded a bit shyly.

Qin Sisi purposefully congratulated him and said a few words of encouragent, because she knew Wen Xuan needed it at this mont.

Wen Xuan had a deep understanding of Music Magic and a bright future, but his performance in other Attribute Magic was diocre, which was also a frustration for him.

In Qin Sisi’s view, it was quite normal for Wen Xuan to take first place today. His musical talent was decent to begin with, plus he had spent a long ti with Teacher Yirou, and most importantly, he genuinely loved music.

Talent and passion—these two qualities Qin Sisi also possessed, it’s just that she had a relatively shorter ti to learn, so her Magic Level was still a bit behind Wen Xuan’s.

As for Qing Pu and Li Li, they viewed Music Magic rely as a tool for completing their studies; it didn’t hold much affection in their hearts. Qin Sisi estimated they wouldn’t specialize in Music Magic in the future.

Teacher Yirou smiled coquettishly, her voice sweet and soft, "Let’s go check on how Young Master Qing and Miss Feng are doing."

Young Master Qing referred to Qing Pu, and Miss Feng naturally ant Li Li. Although not using their real nas, everyone could imdiately understand the reference.

Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan followed Teacher Yirou, walking along the winding path to reach Qing Pu’s location.

Qing Pu was situated in a lakeside pavilion, surrounded by a gently rippling lake, with the graceful reflections of weeping willows bordering the water. A long corridor stretched from the shore to the pavilion.

Qing Pu sat in the pavilion with his set of bells in front of him, holding a delicate hamr, tapping away to produce a series of notes that ford a very pleasing piece of music.

The lake water was green; the person in the pavilion was also dressed in green. At first glance, there truly was a sense of an unparalleled noble gentleman.

For so reason, Qin Sisi suddenly thought of Qing Xun. She had only t Qing Xun briefly a few tis and was not well-acquainted, yet she felt that if Qing Xun was in the pavilion, there would be an even more carefree and unrestrained ambiance.

Qing Pu was Qing Xun’s cousin, and although he was a dashing young man, the impression he left Qin Sisi with, ultimately, seed to lack sothing.

Teacher Yirou in front, Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan behind, the trio entered the lakeside pavilion and all looked towards Qing Pu’s Adsorption Magic. Upon seeing it, Teacher Yirou couldn’t help but burst into loud laughter. Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan glanced at each other, both corners of their mouths twitching with smiles they were desperately trying to suppress.

Around Qing Pu’s Adsorption Magic, in addition to butterflies, bees, and so other small insects, there was also a black crow.

The crow’s call was notoriously unpleasant, and that it was attracted by Qing Pu’s music was quite a surprise.

Of course, there was another possibility: the crow might have just been passing by and accidentally got caught by the Adsorption Magic, a pure accident.

If Qin Sisi had encountered this situation, she would have found it amusing and surprising beyond the accident, and would have brushed off others’ harmless mockery with a laugh.

However, Qing Pu clearly did not find the incident funny; his face flushed red, his expression complex, and there was even a hint of anger in his eyes as if he felt humiliated.

Teacher Yirou quickly noticed Qing Pu’s mood was off and stopped laughing. With a gentle wave of her hand, she emitted a faint purple Magic Light, dispelling the Adsorption magic, and the creatures that had been stuck began to rapidly fly away.

Then, Teacher Yirou spoke to Qing Pu in a gentle tone: "I counted just now, there are eleven butterflies in total, you’ve completed the task."

Qing Pu nodded, his complexion eased slightly, but he still kept his lips sealed, saying nothing.

Teacher Yirou continued, "I’m going to see Li Li, would you like to join , or would you prefer to finish the class now?"

Only then did Qing Pu speak, "I would like to go to the trial tower for practice, I will take my leave now!"

Qing Pu’s words subtly indicated his intention to devote more energy to other Attribute Magic, suggesting he didn’t plan to spend much ti on Music Magic.

"Alright, then go!" Teacher Yirou’s tone was still gentle, but the warmth in her eyes had visibly lessened.

Qing Pu did have talent in the Music Attribute, but since he wasn’t interested in specializing in it, there was nothing Teacher Yirou could do, though she inevitably felt so disappointnt.

Qing Pu politely bowed to Teacher Yirou and nodded towards Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan before turning to walk down the mountain.

Qin Sisi watched Qing Pu’s figure disappearing into the distance and whispered to Wen Xuan beside her, "He seems upset."

Wen Xuan nodded slightly and replied, "Perhaps he’s just thin-skinned."

Thin-skinned? Qin Sisi looked at Wen Xuan with surprise. If she herself wouldn’t have minded if the sa thing happened to her, did that an she was thick-skinned?

After reflecting for a mont, Qin Sisi slowly shook her head. Qing Pu probably felt his sense of self-respect was hurt, but to her, the incident didn’t seem that serious.

Self-respect is necessary, but if it’s overly sensitive, it can lead to being disturbed by trivial matters, which isn’t conducive to one’s growth.

"Alright, I’m going to see Li Li now. What about you two?" Teacher Yirou turned to look at Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan.

Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan exchanged glances and answered in unison, "Together."

They both valued Music Magic, naturally curious to know about soone else’s achievents.

Teacher Yirou’s mood brightened again as she led Qin Sisi and Wen Xuan to find Li Li.

Li Li was found in a rather lofty and cold spot, atop a high cliff on a suspended boulder, standing there silently and solitarily playing the reed pipe.

Behind her was the rolling and unfolding blue sky, and beneath her feet, the unfathomable abyss. The mountain wind stirred her hair and the hem of her clothes, her long hair sotis floating up, sotis falling, and the black windbreaker billowing backwards, the red lining even more vivid.

The tune "Floral Butterfly Dance" is a gentle lody, but as Li Li played, it took on a sense of desolation and solitude, as if she was not trying to attract butterflies, she was simply expressing her emotions to the vast sky and the rustling mountain breeze.
