Chapter 765: Chapter 765: The First Entry into the Trial Tower_1
The doors of the trial tower behind them closed, isolating Qin Sisi and Ye You in a small enclosed space surrounded by black walls.
Just as Qin Sisi gazed around in puzzlent, two lines appeared on one of the walls, glowing with a red light. The first line read, "Please choose your destination," and the second line listed the abbreviations for thirteen locations: Gold (Jin), Wood (Mu), Water (Shui), Fire (Huo), Earth (Tu), Wind (Feng), Lightning (Lei), Illusion (Huan), Ice (Bing), Sound (Yin), Elixir (Dān), Reward (Jiang), and Exit (Chu).
Ye You lifted his arm to select the word "Gold" (Jin). The red letters vanished and the wall opened. Ye You and Qin Sisi stepped through the wall, entering a spacious hall.
The hall was also an enclosed structure. Its black walls looked extrely sturdy, capable of withstanding the impact of various magical attacks.
"Allow
to demonstrate," said Ye You considerately to Qin Sisi before moving to a distant wall and writing the words "Kingo Iron Rain" on it.
As Ye You ceased his movents, a semi-circular red line lit up on the ground about seven or eight ters behind him.
Ye You quickly moved to the edge of the line, turning back to reassure Qin Sisi, "Don’t be afraid, the area beyond the red line is safe."
Qin Sisi nodded as Ye You turned back to stare intently at the opposite wall.
In an instant, the wall ahead flashed, and a spiked ball the size of a fist ca flying out towards Ye You.
Ye You calmly raised a hand, a ball of black Magic Light gathering in his palm. Mustering his strength, he thrust his hand forward, transforming the black Magic Light into a thin beam that accurately hit the incoming spiked ball.
As Ye You’s magic skill hit the spiked ball, it disappeared.
No sooner had it vanished than the opposite wall flashed again. This ti, two spiked balls ca flying out.
A flick of his wrist sent two beams of black Magic Light from Ye You’s palm, hitting each spiked ball.
As the spiked balls vanished again, the wall flashed, and this ti four spiked balls erged, but Ye You’s composure remained steadfast.
Next ca eight and then sixteen spiked balls... their numbers were doubling each ti.
By the ti thirty-two spiked balls appeared, Ye You finally started using both hands. After dispersing sixty-four spiked balls, he stepped back gracefully, landing beyond the red line.
Finding the trial attendee had retreated, the wall dimd. The red line also vanished, indicating the end of this trial round.
Qin Sisi curiously asked, "Surely this isn’t your maximum capacity. Why didn’t you continue?"
Gazing at Qin Sisi, Ye You responded, "The lead role today is you. I only demonstrated."
Qin Sisi bit her lip, looking toward the wall and silently contemplating how many spiked balls she could handle at once. She was predicting one.
Ye You patted Qin Sisi’s shoulder. Attentively, he told her, "This is Gold Attribute Skill called Kingo Iron Rain. Rember the movents, the power of magic, activate the gold attribute in the Magic Source, and then unleash the force of magic.
You can definitely handle one. After that, focus your mind to divide the magic power you’ve gathered into more beams to hit the targets. Just take it easy, and take it step by step."
Qin Sisi nodded, turning and walking toward the wall.
Ye You worriedly called out to her from behind, "Sisi, the trial really does replicate injuries. You’ll truly get hurt if you’re hit by the spiked balls. If you feel like you can’t hold up, jump out at once."
"I understand." Qin Sisi turned and gave him a reassuring look, letting him know there was no need for concern.
As Qin Sisi began to move towards the wall, Ye You felt a tinge of anxiety — sothing he hadn’t experienced even when it was his turn.
Conforming to Ye You’s instructions, Qin Sisi stood before the wall and wrote "Kingo Iron Rain". Then, she quickly retreated to the red line.
The wall flickered rapidly, and a spiked ball, just as she’d expected, erged.
Prepared, Qin Sisi had already charged her palm with Gold Attribute Magic Light. Seeing the spiked ball fly toward her, she promptly thrust her palm forward. A beam of black light, much thicker than Ye You’s, shot out. Accurately, it hit the spiked ball; it vanished.
Without waiting for Qin Sisi to catch her breath, the wall lit up. Two spiked balls were rapidly hurled towards her.
In haste, Qin Sisi attempted to divide the magic power in her palm into two beams to counter the two spiked balls.
She failed. The light she shot out remained as one beam, hitting one spiked ball while the other struck her shoulder.
"Sisi!" Yelled Ye You, who had been watching from behind, his heart aching at the sight.
Qin Sisi exclaid in pain. The scenario was indeed realistic; the spike pierced through her flesh, numbing her entire arm and making it almost impossible to lift.
However, the wall was indifferent to her predicant. It flashed again, and another two spiked balls ca shooting out.
Sensing danger, Qin Sisi, putting aside her pride, hastily rushed beyond the red line. The spiked balls in midair halted and disappeared. The wall dimd once more.
Ye You rushed forward, pulling Qin Sisi’s arm as he anxiously said, "Let
see."
"It’s... Okay." Qin Sisi quickly reassured him although she felt embarrassed. Ye You easily hit sixty-four spiked balls, yet she had only hit one, as she had predicted.
Ye You, however, wasn’t focusing on this. He wanted to tend to Qin Sisi’s injury but the wound was on her shoulder and her dress couldn’t be pulled up high enough. Thus, they had to unbutton the front of the dress.
Ye You laid his fingers on the pearl buttons on her bodice and hesitated, looking at Qin Sisi with conflicted eyes.
"Don’t..." Qin Sisi blushed, nervously grabbing Ye You’s hand to stop him.
"I just want to help you," Ye You spoke softly, "Don’t worry, I won’t do anything inappropriate."
With a burning pain radiating from her shoulder, Qin Sisi hesitated for a mont, before finally letting go of Ye You’s hand and turning her head away.
Ye You tried to calm his mind as he unbuttoned each pearl button and pulled down one side of her dress, revealing Qin Sisi’s fair shoulder marked by several bloody punctures—the wounds left by the spikes.
Gazing solemnly, Ye You lifted his hand, a pale green light gathered in his palm, laying it over Qin Sisi’s wounds.
