Chapter 712: Chapter 712: Phoenix Coffin in the Underground Mausoleum _1

Having lost two companions, the ghost leader was filled with anxiety. Witnessing Qin Sisi’s increasing bravery, he hesitated for a bit before leading the remaining ghosts to retreat to a safe distance. He then shouted at Qin Sisi, "Enough! Either way, you won’t be able to escape. Your doom is inevitable. Just consider yourself lucky to live one more day."

After saying this, he waved a hand at the ghosts, saying, "Let’s go back. We’ll return tomorrow."

The forms of the ghosts vanished from sight, disappearing abruptly into thin air.

Qin Sisi didn’t move, her body still tense, clutching Divine Dog’s Fury in her hand, her eyes unblinkingly fixed on the place where the ghosts had left from.

Only after a long while, when she was sure the ghosts had departed, did Qin Sisi’s body finally went limp, collapsing weakly on the ground and gasping for breath.

Long without food, her body was already incredibly weak. She had been desperately forcing herself to keep going; if the ghosts hadn’t left, she might not have been able to hold on much longer.

The intense fight left her both tired and sleepy. Her eyelids felt as heavy as lead, and she could no longer keep them open. She lay on the ground and fell into a dazed sleep.

If the ghost leader had returned at that mont, he could easily have captured Qin Sisi’s spirit. Fortunately, he was scared off by Qin Sisi, who had destroyed two ghosts in succession, so he did not reappear that night.

anwhile, as Qin Sisi fought a desperate battle with the ghosts, Ye You experienced an assault at ho.

Qin Sisi had said she would return by noon, but even as midnight approached, she hadn’t returned. Ye You gradually felt a sense of ill-on. He wanted to go imdiately to the location of her parents’ graves to search for her, but he hesitated, fearful that Qin Sisi might just return after he’d left.

During the ti Ye You was restless and indecisive, a group of the sa red-haired, pointed-eared ghosts appeared. The leader, swinging the Soul-Attracting Bell, spoke in a slow, chilling voice, "Little black cat, your life is at its end. Co with !"

The soul-capturing sound of the bell reached his ears, and a wave of slight dizziness swept over Ye You. Instantly, he leaped into the air, spinning through space and releasing a halo of purple flas with a swing of his claws.

Screams echoed one after another. By the ti Ye You’s form stabilized, several of the ghosts that had surrounded him had turned into green smoke, dispersing into the air.

Ye You’s small cat form was quite deceiving. Most people thought he was just Qin Sisi’s pet. As a result, the ghosts sent to take him to the underworld were less powerful than the ones Qin Sisi had faced. Naturally, they were easily dispatched by Ye You.

After dealing with these small-ti troublemakers, Ye You no longer hesitated. He imdiately set off for the location of Qin Sisi’s parents’ graves.

Since he’d been attacked, it was certain that Qin Sisi would also be in danger. Her long absence must indicate that sothing had gone wrong.

Ye You’s eyes were shadowed, his teeth grinding. If Qin Sisi had truly been seized by the underworld, he would have to rescue her.

But if that were the case, he didn’t know whether he could still make it back to the Demon Sacred Realm in ti.

But given the current situation, he didn’t have ti to consider that now.

Ye You summoned the magic within him, materializing two small wings on his back. He sped off into the vast, dark night.

As Sisi, trapped in the underground maze, didn’t know how long she’d slept before she groggily woke up.

Feeling a bit refreshed after a nap, she used the Silent Drizzle skill to drink so water before using Fire Ignition Skill to ignite a fla in her hand. She then rose to her feet and continued searching for an exit in the pitch-black tunnel.

This ti, she chose the tunnel on the far right.

After walking a certain distance through the tunnel, Sisi unexpectedly discovered a cave within this cave, which never appeared in the tunnel on the left.

Having noted the entrance, Sisi stepped into this cave within a cave.

To her dismay, a wall appeared in front of her after so ti. This was a blocked dead-end.

Sisi sighed in disappointnt, turned around, and had to go back to the original tunnel. Continuing forward, she passed by a round hall and once again chose the tunnel on the far right. Before long, another cave within a cave appeared.

Once again, Sisi entered, only to find another dead-end.

She returned back to the original tunnel and continued forward. As she crossed another round hall and selected the tunnel on the right, she found yet another cave within a cave. This ti, Sisi hesitated for a mont before stepping inside.

Even though the previous two caves were dead-ends, it didn’t an that this one was too. Perhaps the fact that the previous paths ended indicated that this one might lead sowhere.

This ti, Sisi didn’t encounter a wall blocking her way, instead, she found a rectangular hall, which was twice the size of the round halls she had seen before.

In the four corners of the hall were four tall candle holders. Astonishingly, a Luminous Pearl the size of a fist was placed on top of each holder

The four Luminous Pearls emitted a frost-like silver light, illuminating the originally pitch-black hall brightly.

Since she no longer needed to provide light herself, Sisi quickly extinguished the fla in her palm. Her spiritual power was now extrely depleted, and she had to save every bit she could.

She then walked into the rectangular hall and carefully observed it.

In the middle of the hall was a rectangular platform half a ter tall, on which sat an expensive looking redwood coffin. The side of the coffin was carved with a soaring Phoenix.

This underground palace must have been in existence for many years. Sisi wondered what kind of pignt was used on the Phoenix; even after so many years, it was still glittering and lifelike.

Taking two steps forward, Sisi’s anxiety increased. This was not a common underground maze, but a tomb. The person inside the coffin, the tomb’s owner, must have been a noble in their lifeti. Who else could own such a colossal maze-like tomb?

However, Sisi wondered if there were ghosts inside the coffin. If there were, were they as kind as Uncle Hong, or as harsh as Princess Gao Yang?

Despite her curiosity, Sisi didn’t dare to get close to the coffin. She was feeling very weak, and it was better to be cautious.

She found a corner in the hall and sat down, leaning against the wall. Not far from her was one of the candle holders bearing a Luminous Pearl, casting a faint silver glow that filled her with a sense of comfort.

This hall was likely the center of the entire underground maze. Sisi rembered Qiu Huxi’s words, "In all things, the center is the most honored." Being the resting place of the tomb’s owner, the coffin was naturally placed in the most distinguished position.
