Chapter 710: Chapter 710: Accidentally Entering the Underground Maze_1
Although she had punished those ill-intentioned brutes, Qin Sisi was in a dire predicant now.
In order to silently escape, she used the Earth Escape Skill to burrow into the soil beneath the fields, planning to erge once she was far enough.
With no vision within the earth, she had to rely on her senses and hearing to determine direction. As she felt that she had moved far enough, she drilled upwards according to her feelings, preparing to return to the surface.
Her head felt loose, distinctively free from the restraint of the soil. She tried to jump out of the earth, but to her surprise, she stumbled onto a hard surface, causing her to exclaim in pain.
Qin Sisi sat up, rubbing her bruised posterior. She opened her eyes in confusion. What’s going on? There was utter darkness before her.
She blinked hard and opened her eyes again, nothing but darkness.
Am I blind?
That was Qin Sisi’s first thought. As she sat there in a daze for a while, she suddenly rembered sothing. Hurriedly, she summoned her magical power within her body to cast the Fireball Technique at her feet.
The fireball, emitting a brilliant fla, soared into the air and lit up the ground. Finally, objects started appearing before Qin Sisi’s eyes.
She heaved a sigh of relief. Thank goodness, she was not blind.
Devoid of care for the mud on her body, Qin Sisi quickly rose to her feet. Using the firelight, she began to closely examine her surroundings. It was a circular hall, with several pitch-black entrances around her, their ends unknown.
Before she could observe more, the brightness of the fireball quickly faded, leaving her in total darkness again.
What now? Even if she launched another fireball, it would quickly extinguish, and wouldn’t be of much help.
She suddenly rembered her cell phone. Reaching into her pocket, it was empty. Her phone was long lost.
Frustration set into Qin Sisi’s brows. Thought of Ye You’s ability to ignite Ziwei Heaven Fire in his hand struck her. She wondered if she could do the sa.
Qin Sisi spread her palm, concentrated her magical power onto her palm and gently chanted, "Fire Ignition Skill!"
With a slight flicker of her fingers, a small fla really sprouted in her hand.
Qin Sisi carefully sensed and felt no burns, pain, or discomfort. Probably because the fla was emitted by herself, it could coexist peacefully with her body.
At this point, she didn’t have the ti to ponder the reasons. Watching the small fire in her palm, she couldn’t help but laugh in joy. She slowly marshalled more magic power in her palm, the fire flas subsequently grew bigger and brighter, finally lighting up the hall sufficiently.
Under the glow of the fire, Qin Sisi slowly surveyed her surroundings. There were four entrances in total, each facing a different direction in the hall. However, she had long lost her sense of direction.
Besides that, there was nothing else there.
Approaching the edge of the wall, she gently touched it with her other hand. Although the wall was earthen, a special substance had been applied that increased its hardness, making the hall sturdier and preventing any collapse.
It was only then that Qin Sisi realized her current location was deep underground, much deeper than the graves in the fields.
It seed that her skills in the Earth Escape technique had fallen short causing her to misjudge the direction. Instead of digging upwards, she ended up digging downwards, eventually reaching her current location.
Understanding the situation, Qin Sisi cald down. Since she entered accidentally, she just needed to burrow back to the surface.
She extinguished the fire in her palm and once again tapped into her magic power, imrsing herself in the earth attribute in the Magic Source within her. With a little jump, she disappeared into the tough wall.
Qin Sisi tried hard to burrow upwards, constantly reminding herself, upwards, the direction can’t be wrong.
After digging for a while, her head felt a bit loose, and the montary joy made her jump out of the earth with a heavy push.
However, when she opened her eyes, reality once again disappointed her. It was darkness all around.
With a sigh of frustration, Qin Sisi spread her palm and ignited the fla again using fire magic. She saw that it was not a circular hall this ti, but a long tunnel.
The height and width of the tunnel were about two ters each, with no visible end in sight, forwards or backwards.
She recalled the four pitch-black entrances that she had seen in the circular hall earlier. If she had stepped into those entrances, would she have ended up at a place like this?
The possibility sent a chill down her spine. If that were truly the case, had she wasted all her effort only to remain at the sa spot?
Qin Sisi fought to suppress her chaotic thoughts and calm herself down. She sat on the ground to rest for a while. Then she stood up, marshalling her magical power again, preparing for another round of the Earth Escape Skill.
Heartbreakingly, she found herself back in the circular hall from before.
She stayed still for a mont, then tried again.
After several attempts, Qin Sisi was standing in the sa circular hall she’d first arrived in, as despair began to creep up on her.
She had really tried her best, why couldn’t she get out?
Qin Sisi slumped to the ground, powerless. How long had it been since she fell into this eerie subterranean passage? One hour? Two hours?
What if she really couldn’t find her way out? What was she going to do?
She had promised to accompany Ye You to the Demon Sacred Realm, and now, she was trapped here. How was she to accompany Ye You in leaving?
Thoughts of Ye You brought tears to Qin Sisi’s eyes. Remaining missing for this long, he would surely be worried, right?
After a while, Qin Sisi wiped her tears and stood up. Since the Earth Escape Skill didn’t work, she decided to walk through these endless passages.
At this point, Qin Sisi was tired, hungry, and thirsty. After a quick thought, she tilted her head back and opened her mouth. Upon pointing her finger to her lips, she cast the Silent Drizzle.
Thin wisps of rain fell into her mouth, temporarily relieving her thirst. However, she knew she should conserve her magic powers as much as possible.
Every use of magic would deplete her stamina, and with no resupply, she was only getting wearier.
Despite this, there were so magic skills that she had to use. Spreading the palm of her hand, Qin Sisi ignited a fire again and ventured into the leftmost tunnel, proceeding cautiously.
She didn’t know how long she walked or how much distance she had covered. Finally, the seemingly endless tunnel ended. However, at the end was another circular hall, identical to the starting point.
Qin Sisi stared blankly at the circular hall before her, feeling an overwhelming sense of despair, as if the all-consuming darkness was gradually swallowing her.
Without a doubt, this was an underground maze.
Qin Sisi had lived here for many years and was unaware of, nor heard of, such a huge maze hidden beneath.
