Chapter 685: Chapter 685: Little Punishnt _1

It was daylight, but the basent hadn’t seen the sun for years. The temperature was naturally lower than above ground, causing Qin Sisi to doubt the presence of any ghosts.

To her delight, Ye You soon owed softly in her ear, saying, "There is a ghost, stays here at night."

The corners of Qin Sisi’s mouth curled up slightly in relief, but she quickly composed herself, turned her head, and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Zhao, I regret to inform you that indeed, sothing is wrong in this basent."

Her response was cryptic, but Mr. Zhao understood imdiately because the reason he had called Boss Zheng was precisely for this problem.

Upon hearing Qin Sisi’s words, Mr. Zhao couldn’t help but grow anxious. "Master Qin, please find a solution quickly. After everything is finished, I will compensate you generously," he pleaded.

Qin Sisi nodded and replied, "Mr. Zhao, there’s no need to be so formal. I will do my best. Tonight, I need to stay alone in this basent, and no one should disturb ."

Mr. Zhao hesitated for a mont and then said, "Okay, we will follow your instructions, Master Qin."

Then he turned to Boss Zheng and said, "Boss Zheng, sorry for the inconvenience. Our bedrooms aren’t ready yet, so we’ll have to make do in the living room tonight!"

Knowing that Boss Zheng was getting on in years, Qin Sisi didn’t want to keep him up all night for this. So she quickly said, "You all can go back and rest. I can stay here alone. Just co back tomorrow morning."

Mr. Zhao glanced at Qin Sisi before saying gently, "How can we let Master Qin stay here alone and have a hard ti? Boss Zheng can go back and rest, but I will stay here with Master Qin."

His words were polite, but Qin Sisi understood what he was getting at; the villa’s owner didn’t trust her.

Boss Zheng also captured the nuance in Mr. Zhao’s words. He laughed and said, "No problem at all, my health is excellent. I don’t mind staying up all night. We can wait for the good news from Master Qin in the living room!"

While saying this, he gave Qin Sisi a aningful look, hinting at her not to fuss over this matter.

This was Mr. Zhao’s house, and he had the right to decide whether to stay or leave. They were just hired to perform a task. They should respect the client’s wishes.

Qin Sisi caught Boss Zheng’s eye signal and decided to drop the subject.

It was evening and Mr. Zhao had his driver take them to a high-class restaurant for dinner. The al was sumptuous, and Mr. Zhao’s attitude was polite.

At the sa ti, Qin Sisi offered so food to Ye You, making Mr. Zhao frown. He thought it was rather unprofessional to bring a pet to work.

As the dinner was drawing to a close, Mr. Zhao couldn’t stop staring at the black cat in Qin Sisi’s arms. He finally couldn’t resist saying, "Master Qin, do you always bring your pet with you when you go out to work? Your pet has quite the character!"

Qin Sisi gave a faint smile, pretending not to hear the sarcasm in his words. She said, "Mr. Zhao, my cat is no ordinary cat. He is spiritually gifted."

Disdaining her in his heart but feigning surprise on his face, Mr. Zhao asked, "Oh? Spiritually gifted? Does it have nine lives? Hahaha!"

Qin Sisi calmly replied, "I’m not sure about the nine lives, but I can understand his words. And I know his eyes can see things that ordinary people can’t."

Mr. Zhao looked into Ye You’s purple eyes as Qin Sisi spoke solemnly. All he saw were the intriguing purple glimrs and a chilling coldness emanating from the mysterious depths.

A shudder ran down Mr. Zhao’s spine, but he refused to lose face in front of Qin Sisi.

Putting on an air of nonchalance, he chuckled and extended a finger to pet Ye You’s nose.

Ye You nimbly retreated an inch, then lifted his head and blew a breath at Mr. Zhao’s finger.

Mr. Zhao felt a slight chill pass over his finger, causing him to hesitate in his action.

But Qin Sisi had already stood up, holding Ye You in her arms. She said expressionlessly, "I’ve had my fill, let’s go back. I still need to make so preparations."

Mr. Zhao, unnerved by Ye You’s eyes, dared not act rashly again. He nodded in agreent, and the group set off back to the villa.

His finger had rely felt a chill, and he felt nothing else, so he didn’t think much of it.

By the ti they reached the villa, it was already dark.

Feeling reluctant to engage in further pointless small talk with Mr. Zhao, Qin Sisi excused herself to go down to the basent to prepare. Mr. Zhao opened the security door for her, and she descended into the basent.

Behind her, Boss Zheng called out, "Be careful."

Qin Sisi turned back and flashed a grin at Boss Zheng, "Don’t worry, Uncle Zheng, I’ll return victorious."

Boss Zheng had helped her a lot and was a good old friend. She was determined to succeed tonight and saw no reason to worry those who cared about her.

Upon seeing Qin Sisi’s confident smile, Boss Zheng’s worries eased significantly.

As Qin Sisi stepped into the empty basent, she surveyed the room and found it quiet with nothing unusual.

There was still so ti before midnight, not the ti when ghosts usually appeared.

Qin Sisi wanted to sit sowhere and wait, but there were no chairs in the room, and she was reluctant to sit on the floor.

Ye You understood what Qin Sisi wanted and raised a paw. He drew an arc in the air, and a semi-transparent silver sphere ford.

Qin Sisi looked at Ye You affectionately. She sat down in the silver sphere and placed Ye You in front of her. In a soft voice, she asked, "What did you do to Mr. Zhao?"

Ye You blinked and chuckled lightly, "Nothing much, just a tiny punishnt."

"Did you render his hand useless?" Qin Sisi asked, but there was a faint smile at the corners of her lips. She didn’t bla Ye You for acting. Mr. Zhao had it coming when he tried to offend Ye You.

Ye You replied, "Maybe. If he apologizes tomorrow, I might consider healing him."

Qin Sisi didn’t press further about this. It would either be a blessing or a curse, depending on his attitude.

Ti flowed slowly as they chatted. Qin Sisi would have liked to practice her magic, but considering a possible confrontation with the ghost later, she didn’t want to deplete her mana in advance.

As midnight approached, the silent basent suddenly echoed with the sound of sobbing.

Then, a man’s figure materialized. He was lying on the damp, cold floor, his head buried in his arms, sobbing quietly. His shoulders were shaking uncontrollably, a pitiful sight to see.
