Chapter 684: Chapter 684: The Pitiful Male Master_1
The place they were heading today was a villa complex located in the eastern suburb of S City, another gathering area for the rich.
As Boss Zheng drove, he briefly explained the situation to Qin Sisi.
This business deal was introduced to Boss Zheng by a friend, whose friend, Mr. Zhao, had recently purchased a villa in that complex at a very low price because it was haunted.
Half a year ago, the male owner of the villa was found dead in the basent of his own villa.
The police didn’t find signs of a second person at the scene, so they assud that this man had either committed suicide or died accidentally.
Mr. Zhao bought the villa due to its discounted price but was worried about any unclean things inside. Hence, he wanted to invite a skilled person to check it thoroughly, and he was introduced to Boss Zheng through a friend.
After all, Boss Zheng’s reputation was pretty good in this circle.
After hearing Boss Zheng’s story, Qin Sisi silently prayed, hoping that the ghost of the deceased male owner was still lingering in the villa.
For her, the reward was not important at all right now. She was entirely focused on finding ghosts and collecting Soul Power.
When they arrived at their destination, the security guard at the entrance of the villa complex made a phone call to the hoowner for confirmation before letting Boss Zheng’s car in.
Each villa in the community had its own courtyard, complete with landscaping and parking spaces.
Knowing that Boss Zheng was coming, the villa’s gate was already opened. Boss Zheng drove the car directly in, parked in the parking space, got out of the car, and walked with Qin Sisi towards the interior door of the villa.
A middle-aged man of dium height and a slightly plump figure greeted them with a smile, very politely greeting Boss Zheng.
Boss Zheng shook hands with the middle-aged man, exchanged pleasantries with him very courteously, and then he pointed towards Qin Sisi and introduced her to Mr. Zhao, "Mr. Zhao, this is the Mage I’ve invited, Master Qin Sisi."
Mr. Zhao’s expression stiffened, he took a few doubtful looks at Qin Sisi, and his face grew even more gloomy when he saw her holding a black cat. He spoke to Boss Zheng with so displeasure, "I thought you were going to do it yourself, Boss Zheng."
Boss Zheng, unconcerned with Mr. Zhao’s attitude, just laughed and said, "I’m getting older and don’t want to take such big risks anymore. Young people are now taking the lead."
After hearing Boss Zheng’s words, Mr. Zhao didn’t feel appropriate to insist. He simply looked at Qin Sisi and said, "Master Qin looks very young!"
Qin Sisi knew that these were not complints about her youth but doubts about her ability.
She smiled faintly, nodded politely at Mr. Zhao but didn’t say a word.
Since he didn’t trust her, saying too much would look like bragging in his eyes. Under such circumstances, Boss Zheng’s words would be more convincing.
Sure enough, Boss Zheng seized the opportunity to say, "Mr. Zhao, you do not need to worry. Ambition doesn’t depend on age. Master Qin was born with divine eyes. In the past year, all the jobs I took were handled by Master Qin, and she always did great. If you have any doubts, you can have soone else look at it later. If anyone finds any issues with the property, I’ll return all the money."
Boss Zheng’s eyes were firm, and his words were powerful, which sowhat relieved Mr. Zhao’s unease. When he heard that Qin Sisi was born with divine eyes, his gaze towards her beca a bit more probing.
In the end, Mr. Zhao decided and said, "Since this person is invited by Boss Zheng, I’m sure she must be skilled. Please, both of you, co in."
Boss Zheng politely nodded, following Mr. Zhao into the villa, with Qin Sisi following behind.
The villa was purchased just last month, and no one had moved in yet. Mr. Zhao planned to have the property checked out, renovated, and let it sit for a while before considering moving in. After all, he didn’t lack a house to live in.
Since he was to entertain Boss Zheng briefly, Mr. Zhao had soone lightly sweep and tidy up the living room.
Knowing that Mr. Zhao hadn’t moved in yet, Qin Sisi straightforwardly said, "Mr. Zhao, please take
to the basent where the incident occurred, and then you can leave. Co back tomorrow morning."
Mr. Zhao was sowhat surprised by Qin Sisi’s confident tone. He looked at Boss Zheng and said, "Alright, I’ll take you both to the basent to have a look."
He stood up and gestured for Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi to follow him.
Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi also promptly stood up and followed Mr. Zhao towards the basent.
A narrow alley by the living room led to the entrance of the basent. There was a sturdy security door at the end which required a code to open.
Mr. Zhao had already received the password from the seller and swiftly entered a string of numbers. The security door opened with a muffled noise.
Mr. Zhao opened the door and led Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi down the stairs slowly.
Unlike the usual basents, this one wasn’t gloomy. After the lights were turned on, the surrounding walls were covered with beige wallpaper, creating a sowhat warm atmosphere.
It seed that the previous owner cared a great deal about this basent or perhaps, things inside it.
There were so irregularly arranged steel nails on the beige wallpaper, with shallow square-shaped marks underneath that suggested sothing used to hang at these places.
After examining for a while, Qin Sisi asked, "What used to be stored here?"
Mr. Zhao answered, "I heard that the previous male owner loved painting and had collected many exquisite works, which were stored here. Sohow, those precious paintings were cheated away, and he committed suicide out of sorrow.
Well, I just heard it from others. I’m not sure if it’s true or not."
Qin Sisi ntally noted all these details. The basent was currently very clean, showing no signs of what might have happened before. Whether these details were true or false, knowing more about them would an having more certainty when negotiating with any potential ghosts.
After spending so ti in the basent, Qin Sisi began to sll a peculiar scent. She sniffed carefully and asked strangely, "Why is there the sll of alcohol in here?"
"Oh," Mr. Zhao answered cooperatively, "I think there were dozens of expensive bottles of wine here before the previous owner died, and he drank all of it."
Drank dozens of bottles of wine?
Even if Qin Sisi didn’t know anything about wine, she understood that drinking dozens of bottles of wine was not an easy task.
Did the previous owner commit suicide because of depression?
It could be possible. Having so many valuable paintings deceived away was indeed very miserable.
