Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Innocent Spirits_1
The sounds of suffering echoed back and forth, as if countless ghosts, filled with the malice of being wronged and the fury of a brutal death, were gathering at this location. The air temperature seed to drastically drop, and a cold oppressive atmosphere descended, making even breathing a struggle.
Ye You was secretly taken aback, not expecting this person to possess Ghost Manipulation. So powerful mages could manipulate ghosts through Spiritual Power or spells, referred to as "Ghost Manipulation." However, a ghost manipulating other ghosts was rather bizarre.
As the looming aura of death enveloped them like a dark cloud, Ye You, without further thought, sprung up and moved in front of Qin Sisi, protecting her as he once did. Despite the perilous and strange atmosphere, Qin Sisi felt a wave of ineffable warmth in the luminosity and might of Ye You’s small figure.
Even so, this was not the ti for romantic fantasies. Countless wronged spirits wailed in pain as they bypassed Da Hu Zi, advancing towards Ye You and Qin Sisi. The rise of their chilling resentnt was like a tidal wave, which threatened to engulf them both.
Ye You extended his claws, traced a circle in front of him, and used his magic to form a Silver Glowing Shield. The ghosts that touched the shield, infused with Spiritual Power, were instantly obliterated.
To Qin Sisi’s surprise, these ghosts seed bereft of rational thought and relentlessly charged themselves to death. Even more startling was how they could regenerate. After being shattered by Ye You’s shield, they swiftly erged from the ground near Da Hu Zi and resud their attack.
What could they do in such a situation? Even if Ye You’s magic was mighty, he couldn’t continually maintain the shield; he needed to eat, rest, and recover. Yet, the ghosts seed to need none of these things.
That’s it! Ghosts fear the sunlight. They should flee when dawn arrives, but Qin Sisi worriedly glanced at Ye You, wondering if he could hold on till then.
While Qin Sisi was anxious and uneasy, she closely observed the situation. Slowly, she noticed a pattern - the ghosts’ regeneration ti had increased. Initially, it only took a minute or two for them to regenerate, now it required about ten minutes.
It seed that even Da Hu Zi’s ability had a limit. As the clash persisted, his spiritual power was continuously depleted. Qin Sisi also noticed changes in Da Hu Zi’s skin; the black color was gradually fading.
A thought flashed through Qin Sisi’s mind – could Da Hu Zi’s skin color represent his Spiritual Power? Did the fading color signify his loss of power?
Feeling a glimr of hope, Qin Sisi knew Da Hu Zi’s Spiritual Power would soon be exhausted. As long as Ye You could hold on a little longer, victory was undoubtedly theirs.
However, when her gaze fell back on Ye You, her heart instantly filled with concern. Ye You’s body was slightly trembling, seemingly strained to keep up the shield.
Qin Sisi knew that even if the shield vanished, Ye You would certainly be able to protect himself. His desperate effort to sustain the shield was due to his fear of her getting hurt.
While Ye You’s affection ward her heart, a feeling of unease overwheld her due to his fatigue. Qin Sisi no longer wanted to take refuge behind Ye You; she desired to stand fearlessly by his side, fighting alongside him.
Da Hu Zi on the other side continuously chanted incantations with his eyes shut, commanding the ghosts to relentlessly attack the Silver Glowing Shield.
He was utterly focused on controlling the ghosts. If she launched a surprise attack, her chances of success would be high!
Determined, Qin Sisi tightly gripped the Divine Dog’s Fury. Seeing an opportunity when the ghosts were fewer, she suddenly dashed out of the shield and swung the Divine Dog’s Fury with all her might.
True to its reputation as one of the sacred artifacts of the Demon Sacred Realm, wherever the Divine Dog’s Fury went, the ghosts instantaneously dissipated, paving a clear path before Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi dashed straight ahead. As she neared Da Hu Zi, she raised the Divine Dog’s Fury and lashed out at him once again.
Although Da Hu Zi was engrossed in controlling the ghosts, he felt the air’s fluctuation when Qin Sisi rushed out of the shield. Sensing danger and recognising the artifact’s formidable power, he deftly evaded the attack, unwilling to stop controlling the ghosts. He took off into the air, hooked the Divine Dog’s Fury’s rope with one leg and spun it, successfully snatching it from Qin Sisi’s grasp.
Just when Da Hu Zi was about to revel in his triumph, black smoke suddenly erged in front of his eyes. Looking down, he noticed a linear, dark wound on the foot that had touched the Divine Dog’s Fury. Black smoke began to seep out, and the wound quickly spread from the top of his foot to the lower part of his leg.
Da Hu Zi was taken aback. Ignoring the manipulation of the ghosts, he quickly ceased the incantations. His only hand transford into a black blade. Da Hu Zi swiftly swung it down, severing his leg and foot, which fell to the ground. The severed limb erupted in black smoke and quickly turned into ash.
First, Ye You cut off his arm, and now Qin Sisi had severed his leg. Enraged, Da Hu Zi glared fiercely, raising his remaining at-blade hand and striking it towards Qin Sisi.
However, before his hand could fall, a dazzling silver light hurtled towards him, piercing right through his body and leaving a gaping hole in his abdon. Da Hu Zi stood stiffly, looking down in disbelief at his missing abdon. His eyes began to dull and lose focus.
The edge of the hole sparkled with tiny silver lights, which started corroding his body from the hole, spread to his legs and chest. The silver light continued to flicker unstoppably, and before long, it spread to his head.
A few minutes later, Da Hu Zi’s large figure completely vanished. The tiny silver lights gathered and transford into a single mass. With a wave of Ye You’s claw, the silver light transford into a line and flew towards Ye You’s claws, then disappeared without a trace.
The chilling aura of death dissipated as well. Qin Sisi felt the situation around her normalize, and she heaved a sigh of relief. She then anxiously looked ahead and saw Ye You, a short distance away, sitting up and looking at her angrily.
Unbothered by Ye You’s unhappy expression, Qin Sisi quickly moved towards him and anxiously asked, "Are you okay?"
