Chapter 634: Chapter 634: Colluding in Embarrassnt_1
Qin Sisi’s gaze moved away from the objects in the office, focusing on Mao Xiaolu’s face.
This face was beautiful yet odd, as if sothing was slightly amiss.
It took Qin Sisi a mont to realize that it was a surgically enhanced face: the brow, eyes, nose, and mouth had all been altered.
Each feature appeared perfect on its own, but the combination gave a sowhat unnatural impression.
As Qin Sisi studied Mao Xiaolu, Mao Xiaolu was likewise sizing her up, scrutinizing her face and chest.
Just as Qin Sisi was about to speak, Mao Xiaolu preemptively asked, "What is it that you’re dissatisfied with about yourself, dear?"
Qin Sisi hesitated, then replied, "I’m not quite sure. I just don’t feel satisfied. As an expert, what do you think?"
Mao Xiaolu smiled lightly and in an arrogant tone advised, "I think there are many places on your body that should be worked on. First, your eyebrows need an enhancent; then, the corners of your eyes should be enlarged and your double-eyelids widened. Next, your nose bridge needs to be heightened and your lips aren’t red enough, so they can be dyed.
Lastly, this part here isn’t ample enough."
Mao Xiaolu reached out a finger to point towards Qin Sisi’s chest, continuing, "You might want to consider breast augntation. Our hospital’s breast augntation procedures are very advanced; we use imported silicon, internationally certified, and safe for the body. It won’t harm you; instead, it will greatly enhance your charm."
The sound of Mao Xiaolu’s voice was pleasant, and had an alluring quality. She made these alterations sound like the path to becoming a breathtaking beauty.
Qin Sisi blinked, wondering if her face really had that many flaws, and looked down at her chest with a touch of disappointnt.
On this point, Mao Xiaolu was not wrong; her chest wasn’t particularly ample.
Ye You nestled in her arms, and on seeing Qin Sisi’s expression, he turned away to hide his amusent.
Clearing her throat, Qin Sisi cautiously asked, "Are breast augntation surgeries really safe? I’ve heard of people dying from them..."
Mao Xiaolu’s expression shifted dramatically as she quickly interjected, "Those are people who ignored safety asures and sought treatnt at unqualified clinics. Our facility is certified and has never had any issues."
Listening to Mao Xiaolu brazenly distort facts, Qin Sisi rolled her eyes inwardly.
Leaving aside the cause of An Ran’s death, Mao Xiaolu’s manipulative attitude was reprehensible.
Seeing that Qin Sisi didn’t seem persuaded, Mao Xiaolu continued to encourage her to consider subtle changes to her facial features.
While Mao Xiaolu was in full flow, Ye You stealthily lifted his paw and shot a blue light towards her head.
Mao Xiaolu froze as the blue light hit her. Her eyes went out of focus and she slumped onto the table.
Seeing Mao Xiaolu unconscious, Qin Sisi swiftly stood up to close the office door.
Ye You hopped onto the table and placed a paw on her head, his light blue aura glowing around them.
Ti rewound to the night before An Ran’s breast augntation surgery. In a bigger, more luxurious office, a man and a woman were lying on a bed.
The woman was Mao Xiaolu, and the man, rembered from her mories, was Qian Wu, the Vice President of this costic surgery hospital.
After a few whispered exchanges, Mao Xiaolu got up to dress and leave, ready to return to her own office for the night shift.
Qian Wu stopped her, retrieving a small, elegant box from his office desk and said, "I found an unused silicon implant during the inventory – it must have been accidentally dropped and is now half a year past its expiry date. Find a way to use it."
Mao Xiaolu took the box with a certain degree of concern and asked, "It’s expired. Wouldn’t it cause problems?"
Qian Wu dismissively replied, "It’s not like it’s food. What harm could it cause? Just give it to one of those who’ve had children and aren’t nursing anymore. It’ll be fine."
If the silicon implant contained a large amount of harmful substances and the user breastfed post-pregnancy, these harmful substances could enter the milk and harm the baby’s health.
If such a situation occurred and the patient caused a fuss, it could lead to troubleso consequences.
Mao Xiaolu held the expired silicon implant and examined it closely, her brows furrowing as she said, "There is a breast augntation scheduled for tomorrow, but..."
Qian Wu lightly patted her shoulder and reassured her, "Don’t worry. As long as her body isn’t allergic, it should be all right. Would I harm you? I plan to sell the unused silicon that we have in stock, and you can keep the proceeds."
Concerned about the slight allergic reaction indicated in the dical examination results, but reassured by Qian Wu’s assertions and the promise of financial gain, Mao Xiaolu finally pocketed the expired silicon implant.
She was unaware, however, that An Ran’s examination results identified her as having a mild allergy.
Eager to spend more ti with Qian Wu, Mao Xiaolu delegated the task of reviewing the examination results to a nurse.
Given that a mild allergy typically doesn’t affect surgeries, the nurse, subscribing to the principle "less said, soon nded," chose not to inform Mao Xiaolu.
This negligence, intentional or not, on the part of these three people ultimately led to An Ran’s death on the surgery table.
Having learned the true cause of An Ran’s death, Ye You withdrew his paw, hopping onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder and quietly said, "Let’s go."
Qin Sisi nodded, taking one last glance at Mao Xiaolu still slumped at the desk, before exiting the office.
Once ho, Ye You recounted the true cause of An Ran’s death to Qin Sisi, omitting the scene in Qian Wu’s office, but shared that Mao Xiaolu and Vice President Qian Wu were having an affair.
Qin Sisi felt a surge of anger. Mao Xiaolu and Qian Wu disregarded human life for petty gains, not even bothering to thoroughly check dical results to accommodate their nightly rendezvous. When An Ran found out, she would more than likely refuse to let them off the hook!
That night, Ye You released An Ran’s ghost from the Portable Space and Qin Sisi inford her of what had truly transpired.
As expected, An Ran trembled with rage and bit out, "You’ve seen it all; my death was no accident but human malice. Will you help
exact my revenge now?"
Qin Sisi hesitated for a mont, and then nodded, "Alright."
She had initially assud that An Ran’s death was an accident, which is why she refused to assist in taking a life. However, if it was caused by human actions, that was a different matter entirely.
"However, let’s get one thing straight: I’ll only provide so convenient opportunities for you, but you will have to do the deed on your own," she added. She was heeding Ye You’s advice about not staining her hands in the Human World; it was a principle she needed to uphold.
