Chapter 547: Chapter 547 I’m not a Good Man_1
Back at her dwelling place, Qin Sisi took out her phone and checked the ti, which was already past three in the morning.
There was still a bit of ti before four o’clock, when the Yang energy would begin to rise again. However, Qin Sisi rembered when the adolescent ghost, the one that was attached to Xiao Jie, appeared last ti, it was extrely agitated.
After discussing with Ye You, they decided to let the adolescent calm down for a bit. They planned to let him out again later that night for a proper discussion.
Also, having been busy up until now, both of them were a bit tired. They decided to store the ghost away for a bit and cleaned up a bit before getting into bed. They snuggled together and fell into a peaceful sleep.
They woke up the next day around late morning. After eating, Qin Sisi had Ye You set up the barrier and continued practicing her Fire Bomb.
After this period of practice, the destructive power of the fireballs she released had increased. However, there was still no substantial impact on Ye You’s barrier. When the Fire Bomb was launched, it was as if it had hit a mound of cotton, dissipating silently.
But just as it had been when she was practicing the Fire Ignition Skill and the Fireball Technique, only through a long and arduous practice period was she able to succeed, so Qin Sisi was not in a rush.
Five hours of practice passed in a flash, with no apparent progress as always.
Qin Sisi took a long breath, preparing to do one last practice exercise before calling it quits.
She straightened her back, with her palms facing each other in front of her. She channeled her Magic, silently recited the incantation, then pushed her hands forward, shouting: "Fire Bomb!"
A fist-sized fireball rocketed out and quickly flew forward, disappearing silently in the distance.
Just as Qin Sisi thought this was yet another futile drill in her practice, she suddenly felt a slight tremor in the surrounding scenery. Even though it was very faint, she was sure that she wasn’t mistaken.
Instantly, Qin Sisi froze, spinning her gaze around in confusion. What was happening? Was there an earthquake?
Ye You, who was ditating with his eyes closed, suddenly opened his eyes, and said with joyful undertones, "The barrier reacted."
"What?" Qin Sisi seed to understand a bit, but she didn’t quite believe it.
Ye You looked at Qin Sisi, and said seriously, "The barrier shook; it ans it was attacked. This demonstrates that your Fire Bomb has developed a certain degree of destructive power now."
Qin Sisi’s eyes shone brightly. She pursed her lips and asked, "You an my Fire Bomb is ready?"
Ye You shook his head, explaining, "One could say it has had a minor success. A true success would be to shatter the barrier."
Nevertheless, Qin Sisi still felt extrely satisfied. At least she knew her efforts hadn’t gone to waste, and she was making steady progress.
Ye You’s gaze deepened as he thought to himself, "I’ve said before that the Fire Bomb is a relatively simple magic, based on the Fireball Technique, so achieving minor success would co relatively easily."
Qin Sisi gave Ye You a slight smile and calmly said, "Don’t worry, I understand."
Looking at Qin Sisi’s expression, which was both joyful and calm, Ye You felt a remarkable sense of tranquility.
He hoped for her to make great strides, but feared that she’d be unstable in her foundation; he hoped she would be successful but feared that haste might prevent her from reaching her goal.
Ultimately, his apprehension seed to be more than hers.
Contrarily, Qin Sisi herself was composed and patient – not proud, not irritated, and step by step, she had reached where she was now.
Even though she was just a small magic apprentice, for an ordinary person who had not been practicing magic from childhood, this was quite an accomplishnt.
As midnight once again approached, Qin Sisi leaned on the table with Ye You standing beside her. He flicked his claw and released the teen’s ghost from her Portable Space.
The boy, who would have been a teenager, initially bewildered, changed to a fierce look when he saw Qin Sisi. It seed as if he was preparing to launch an attack.
Qin Sisi’s brows furrowed. Holding the Divine Dog’s Fury, she lashed it hard on the ground, shouting sternly, "If you want your soul to scatter, just co on!"
A foolhardy kid doesn’t fear a tiger. The boy probably resented being chased from Xiao Jie’s body, and wouldn’t let go of his hostility.
But while there were not many people who feared death, there were fewer ghosts who weren’t afraid of their soul scattering.
Eventually the boy stopped in his tracks, standing at a distance and glaring at Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi held Divine Dog’s Fury in front of her, as much a protection for herself as a show of force to the boy.
After a long while, the boy’s expression changed from fierce and angry to one of grief. He suddenly collapsed onto the ground, hitting the floor with his fists, wailing, "Why? Why? I never did anything wrong. Why does everyone want to harm ? Life is so unfair!"
With red-rimd eyes and tears streaming down his face, his expression was both sorrowful and angry - it didn’t seem like he was pretending.
Qin Sisi slowly lowered the Divine Dog’s Fury in her hand. She took two steps towards the boy and softly spoke, "I’ve told you before, I can help you fulfill your unfinished wishes. If there’s anything you can’t let go of, just tell !"
The boy lifted his head, eyes filled with surprise and distrust. He asked in confusion, "Help ? Why would you help ? What are the conditions?"
Qin Sisi saw traces of past injury and hurt in the boy’s eyes. Only soone who had been hurt would show such a cowardly and anxious expression, wanting to move forward but also wanting to retreat.
But Qin Sisi didn’t want to fool him with sweet words. She candidly said, "I need Soul Power."
The boy sneered, "So much for saying you’d help , you’ve got an ulterior motive."
Looking into the boy’s eyes, Qin Sisi said clearly, word by word, "Didn’t you just say you wanted fairness? I’ll help you fulfill your wishes, and in return, you give
your Soul Power. We each get what we need; that’s what fair trade is."
The boy paused, mumbling, "Aren’t good people supposed to do good deeds without expecting anything in return?"
Qin Sisi sighed and responded, "Yes, but such people are rare, not sothing you can expect to co across. I’m not a good person, just soone conducting a fair transaction."
A look of confusion appeared on the boy’s face as he tried to comprehend Qin Sisi’s words.
After a while, he seed to understand sothing. Looking at Qin Sisi, there was a trace of resentnt in his voice as he asked, "I was beaten to death. Can you help
kill those people and take revenge for ?"
The boy’s body was riddled with wounds, indicating he had suffered many abuses in his life. Even though Qin Sisi could guess as much, she still couldn’t help but ask when the boy himself confessed, "Judging by your age, you should be a middle school student, right?"
The boy nodded, "Yes, I was in the second year of junior high school in our town."
"Why did they want to kill you?" Qin Sisi was very curious. A teenager in junior high school was really just a child. Who could be so offended by a child that they’d want to kill him?
The boy was silent for a mont, a look of rage and unwillingness filling his expression. He gritted his teeth and said, "Because I wouldn’t give them money."
