Chapter 438: Chapter 438: Complicated and confusing _1

Looking at this couple, who were so mismatched in age and appearance, Qin Sisi imdiately thought of a phrase — n with wealth, won with looks.

Perhaps it was because the glamorous, enchanting Mrs. Fu was indeed too stunningly beautiful that even the worldly Boss Zheng was captivated, unable to keep his eyes off her.

Mr. and Mrs. Fu cordially nodded their acknowledgnt to Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi, leading them into the mansion.

It was indeed the ho of a wealthy family, with sumptuous interior decor that was stunning to behold.

Qin Sisi had previously visited Mr. Ding’s ho with Boss Zheng. Mr. Ding’s ho had a more subdued and sophisticated style, unlike the ostentatious display at Mr. Fu’s residence.

Mr. and Mrs. Fu invited Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi to take a seat on the sofa, as a servant quickly brought out fragrant hot tea.

Mr. Fu introduced his vivacious wife to Boss Zheng, describing him as a long-ti and trusted friend.

Boss Zheng also introduced Qin Sisi to Mr. Fu, stating that she was his apprentice with a spiritual talent which he wanted to expose to the world.

Mrs. Fu’s lips curled into a beautiful arc, greeting Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi with a smile. Yet, a brief flicker of disgust crossed her gaze as it moved over the black cat cradled in Qin Sisi’s arms.

She thought her radiant smile was flawless, but that fleeting expression did not escape Boss Zheng, who was attuned to reading people, and Qin Sisi, who was already on guard.

Aside from her guard, Qin Sisi, towards the captivating Mrs. Fu, had developed a mild antipathy.

However, Mr. Fu was suspecting that the strange happenings in his house and his deteriorating health were linked to his newlywed wife, while Qin Sisi only sensed that the beauty might not be as friendly as she seed. Nothing else appeared to be out of the ordinary.

Mrs. Fu radiated no Yin energy, and there was a dark shadow beneath her in the light. It was clear that she was not a ghost, she was very much alive.

Qin Sisi felt that Mr. Fu might be worrying over nothing; the strange happenings in their house likely had nothing to do with his delicate spouse.

Even if her impression of Mrs. Fu wasn’t favorable, Qin Sisi was reluctant to judge her hastily.

The atmosphere during the conversation was a bit strange; Mr. Fu didn’t want, nor could he allow, Mrs. Fu to know that he had invited Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi to inspect their house and subtly evaluate Mrs. Fu’s situation.

As such, Mr. Fu tried to facilitate a casual tea party atmosphere among old acquaintances.

However, both Qin Sisi and Mrs. Fu had no interest in the topics he broached, resulting in several prolonged silences. Only Boss Zheng entertained Mr. Fu’s attempts at conversation out of respect for their longti friendship.

After their third round of tea, Boss Zheng proposed a tour of Mr. Fu’s luxurious mansion.

Mr. Fu gladly agreed, suggesting Mrs. Fu stay behind to watch so television while he personally led Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi on a tour.

Mrs. Fu gracefully assented, observing their departure with a faint, mocking smile on her face.

With their backs turned to Mrs. Fu, Mr. Fu, Boss Zheng, and Qin Sisi moved ahead, oblivious to her peculiar smile. Ye You, however, the black cat nestled in Qin Sisi’s arms, caught the display.

It lay atop Qin Sisi’s shoulder, its purple eyes scanning the surroundings cautiously. It caught the expression on Mrs. Fu’s face.

Ye You furrowed its brows internally, feeling suspicious about this woman.

But she wasn’t a ghost, what could be wrong with her?

Unable to figure it out, Ye You decided to continue touring the lavish mansion with Qin Sisi, hoping to discover other clues.

When the group moved beyond the hearing and sight of Mrs. Fu, Mr. Fu turned to Boss Zheng, asking nervously, "What do you think? Is there anything wrong with her?"

Boss Zheng didn’t respond imdiately as he didn’t notice anything unusual about Mrs. Fu.

Turning to query Qin Sisi, she too shook her head slightly, indicating she had not observed anything noticeable either.

Boss Zheng was left to tell Mr. Fu, "We haven’t detected anything unusual yet."

Mr. Fu seed disappointed, expressing anxiously, "What should I do? I increasingly feel that sothing is not right."

Qin Sisi curiously asked, "Mr. Fu, can you explain what exactly feels off?"

Since he knew that Qin Sisi had been invited by Boss Zheng to perform spiritual investigations, Mr. Fu addressed her courteously.

Upon hearing her question, Mr. Fu shook his head, answering helplessly, "I can’t quite explain it, but sothing is off. The house is off, the wife is off, even I feel off."

Qin Sisi furrowed her brows. Without being in his shoes, it was difficult to understand the precise aning of "feeling off."

Boss Zheng then suggested, "Let’s have a look around first, and see if there’s anything wrong with the house."

"Alright then." Not having any other options, Mr. Fu led Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi on a tour through every room in the mansion.

After their round trip, Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi found nothing unusual.

Boss Zheng had an eye for Feng Shui and could confidently attest to the good layout and design of the house. He had even sold many of the decorative items to Mr. Fu and so, knew they had no significance.

Qin Sisi couldn’t discern anything amiss either. Occasionally, she looked down at Ye You hoping he might have caught sothing.

However, Ye You remained taciturn throughout the tour, evidently, like her, he’d discovered no valuable clues .

Qin Sisi was a little downcast; could Mr. Fu be just imagining things? Could it be that there was no ghost in this house at all?

However, when Mr. Fu claid that they had seen everything there was to see, an idea flashed through Qin Sisi’s mind and she quickly asked, "I don’t believe we’ve visited your and your wife’s bedroom, have we?"

Mr. Fu looked montarily awkward before stuttering, "We... Well, let’s go and look."

With that, Mr. Fu took the lead in pacing towards the room.

Puzzled, Qin Sisi watched his retreating figure then turned to Boss Zheng.

If there were indeed problems with his wife or the house, their bedroom should have been the most likely place to find traces, so why didn’t he seem too keen on letting others inspect it?

Boss Zheng was at a loss as well, saying simply to Qin Sisi, "Let’s go and have a look."

Qin Sisi nodded, cradling Ye You close to her as she followed behind Boss Zheng and Mr. Fu.

Finally, they stood before a door, upholstered in genuine leather, ornate with dozens of glimring tal studs arranged in a diamond pattern; it was quite obviously a pricey door.

Mr. Fu hesitated a mont before opening the door. As Qin Sisi looked inside, the room’s gilded interior nearly blinded her with its opulence.
