Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Petty Quarrel Cheers up the Mood_1

Qin Sisi sat disheveled on the ground, her thin clothing insufficient against the autumn chill. She dropped her head, nose stinging with regret.

He had left just like that? Not even giving her a chance to explain?

Suddenly, a familiar voice entered her ears: "What’s wrong?"

Qin Sisi looked up in surprise, eting Ye You’s radiant, purple eyes. She felt simultaneously elated and despondent. The fleeting hints of anxiety and unease in his gaze, she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagining things.

"I’ve sprained my ankle," Qin Sisi murmured. She didn’t want to bla Ye You, though she did feel sowhat aggrieved.

"Does it hurt?" Ye You asked softly, extending a paw to gently press on Qin Sisi’s ankle.

"It hurts..." Qin Sisi couldn’t help but groan, casting a resentful glance at Ye You before lowering her head again.

Ye You withdrew his paw, sighing in resignation, "Let’s head back first."

Qin Sisi was about to say she couldn’t stand when she saw Ye You trace a semicircle in the air with his paw. Following his movent, a silver sphere appeared, enveloping both of them.

Qin Sisi looked on in surprise, but an even more astonishing thing was yet to happen.

The sphere, carrying Qin Sisi and Ye You, started to float gently upwards, ascending higher before leisurely floating towards their dwelling.

This sensation was peculiar. The dayti turmoil had settled with the night, replaced by a tranquil silence.

The silver sphere was practically transparent. Qin Sisi looked out, seeing the city lights beneath her feet, lush, green trees at her side, and sparse stars overhead — all seemingly within reach.

Previously, when flying with the Wings of Rainbow, she had to exert all her strength to control them, thereby lacking the energy and mindset to enjoy the surrounding scenery. But now, sitting leisurely in the sphere while admiring the resplendent and mysterious night view, the lancholy in Qin Sisi’s heart seed to lessen.

Qin Sisi raised her head to say sothing to Ye You, only to see him staring intently at the outside view. His gaze was as deep as the ocean, lost in thought. She swallowed down the words ready to escape her lips and simply shared the silence with him.

The silver sphere entered Qin Sisi’s house through the open glass window. After gently placing them onto the bed, it disappeared as magically as it had appeared. This, Qin Sisi concluded, must be the charm of magic.

Ye You helped Qin Sisi roll up her pant leg. As expected, a large area around her ankle was swollen red. Ye You fell silent, his heart filled with guilt and remorse. He quietly extended his paw to rest on Qin Sisi’s ankle and silently recited the healing charm.

Qin Sisi rembered that when Ye You had earlier healed her, it was fast. However, this ti, it took longer—possibly because her injury was more severe than before. A dozen minutes later, the red swelling on Qin Sisi’s ankle finally subsided, and the pain disappeared as well.

Qin Sisi moved her ankle, seeming to have fully recovered. Although she still felt a little uneasy, she was ultimately grateful. Just when she was about to say "Thank you," Ye You suddenly began: "Sisi, I’m sorry, I was too impatient."

Qin Sisi raised her head, eting Ye You’s gaze, and said softly: "Xiao Hei, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have doubted you."

The two held each other’s gaze for a while, Ye You let out a deep sigh, and gently kissed Qin Sisi’s ankle where she had been hurt. His long whiskers grazed her skin, ticklish and tingling.

Startled, Qin Sisi quickly curled up her legs and hugged her knees, her cheeks burning with embarrassnt.

An unusual spark shimred in Ye You’s eyes as he stared at Qin Sisi in silence.

Avoiding Ye You’s intense gaze, Qin Sisi asked softly: "Are we going out again tonight?"

Ye You shook his head and replied: "No, we’ll get a good night’s sleep tonight."

"Okay," Qin Sisi nodded, deliberately not dwelling on the ambiguity in Ye You’s words. However, when she looked up, she found his gaze had dimd, revealing an overwhelming sense of exhaustion.

"Xiao Hei..." Qin Sisi called out in concern.

"Sisi, I’m very tired, let

rest... don’t be angry..." As Ye You spoke, he sprawled on the bed and closed his eyes.

Qin Sisi rembered Ye You saying that his magic was weak recently. Running around collecting Soul Power for the past few days, using magic to fly her back to their place, and healing her injury must have left him exhausted.

Feeling sympathetic, Qin Sisi reached out with her soft palm, gently stroking Ye You’s small body, murmuring: "I’m not angry, how could I be angry with you?"

This was a quiet, relaxed night. After several days of stress and surprises, the tranquility of the evening was especially precious; a minor misunderstanding had led to an even tender bond.

The next day was a Sunday. They slept till they woke up naturally, both refreshed and full of vigor.

After breakfast, Qin Sisi took Ye You for a walk around a nearby park. They strolled leisurely, conversing gently, sharing fun experiences from their growing up years.

Upon returning ho and opening the door, they found two unexpected guests—a White Cat and a Yellow Cat lounged lazily on the windowsill, their tails swishing leisurely back and forth. Their amber eyes were as crystal-clear as glass.

Seeing Ye You and Qin Sisi, the two cats owed a couple of tis, their voices gentle and devoid of hostility.

Ye You’s expression tightened at the sight of the two felines. He escaped Qin Sisi’s embrace, leaping to the table and advancing a few steps before settling down.

The White Cat and Yellow Cat also hopped onto the table. But they didn’t sit like Ye You; instead, they stood straight and graceful, lowering their heads slightly.

Qin Sisi blinked in confusion. anwhile, Ye You sat there with his head held high, his deanor regal as if accepting the homage of his subordinates.

After a brief exchange in feline language, the White Cat and Yellow Cat left the house through the window, disappearing as silently as they had arrived. Cats indeed had an elf-like deanor.

Ye You turned to Qin Sisi, noticing her perplexed expression, and explained: "I’ve asked them to help

gather information. If they encounter any ghosts, they would quickly inform ."

Qin Sisi asked skeptically: "Can they sense ghosts?" Could all cats possess the legendary spirit?

"Ordinarily they can’t," Ye You replied, "but I’ve granted them so spiritual power so they can perceive the presence of spirits."

Surprised and worried, Qin Sisi said: "There’s a movie called "The Legend of the Evil Cat". Now that these two cats have your spiritual power, they won’t turn into evil spirits, will they?"
