Chapter 398: Chapter 398 Snowy New Year’s Eve_1

Ye You found out that "Chinese New Year" was the grandest celebration in Qin Sisi’s world, where practically all businesses would shut down. He told Qin Sisi that they would also stop working and not search for ghosts for a few days, resuming only after the holiday season.

Although Qin Sisi was worried for Ye You, she felt a warmth in her heart, knowing that he valued this holiday from her hotown so much.

So, in the days following the preliminary festivities, they stayed ho most of the ti, occasionally practicing magic or having Ye You explain theories of Magic to her. Or sotis they would simply do nothing and sit on the couch, chatting.

When they needed so fresh air, Qin Sisi would take Ye You for a stroll around the neighborhood.

If they didn’t consider their soul powers, life was quite easy and pleasant these days.

In the blink of an eye, New Year’s Eve arrived, the last day of the year.

In the afternoon, Qin Sisi took out the pre-purchased couplets and window decorations and pasted them on both sides of the door and the balcony glass.

With the decorations, a festive red hue filled the house.

As a child, when she was in her hotown, the liveliest activities besides pasting couplets and window decorations were setting off firecrackers.

New Year’s Eve was particularly lively, with the sounds of firecrackers ringing out to dispel the old year, heralding the arrival of the new year in a burst of festive noise and cheer.

However, due to the risk of fire caused by fireworks and firecrackers, large cities didn’t allow their random discharge. If people wanted to enjoy them, they would have to go to designated places, and recently, electronic fireworks were introduced.

Qin Sisi had never visited these designated firecracker viewing spots before, but this year, she wished to do so. It might be her last New Year here.

Although she longed for the Demon Sacred Realm and trusted Ye You’s intentions, leaving her hotown - and never returning - was still a lancholic affair.

When Qin Sisi told Ye You that she wanted to go outside to watch the fireworks, Ye You imdiately agreed and reminded her to bundle up against the cold.

At 11 o’clock on New Year’s Eve night, Qin Sisi summoned the Wings of Rainbow and went unnoticed, cloaked by the Invisible Bubble, jumping from the balcony window and flying towards the designated fireworks discharge area.

The reason she chose this hour was that two hours later when the Invisible Bubble lost its effect, it would already be the next day, enabling the use of another Bubble, giving them four hours of unhindered enjoynt.

Qin Sisi had already planned the routes, and while controlling the Wings of Rainbow, she swiftly flew to their destination, arriving in less than half an hour.

From afar, she could already hear the cacophony of firecrackers and see various fireworks lighting up the sky.

To avoid any danger, she landed on the ground a distance away from the site and then walked over.

She was concealed by the Invisible Bubble; no one could see her. And she was free to enjoy the splendidly colorful sky full of fireworks in peace and silence.

One after another, the fireworks burst like radiant flowers in the night sky, their multicolored lights reflecting off the world below.

On the field, many children bounced around, covering their ears and looking up at the sky with loud shouts of joy as they watched the brilliant fireworks explode overhead. Their laughter was pure and bright.

At midnight, a ti usually heavy with Yin energy, it was now the climax of joy and celebration.

The constant noise of firecrackers made the whole place sound like a popping kaleidoscope, bright displays of fireworks blossoming continuously in the night sky. The shouts and cheers were deafening, transforming the field into a sea of joy.

Qin Sisi looked up at the sky, a faint smile on her face reflecting the changing colors and shadows of the fireworks.

Looking at Qin Sisi, with her vaguely thoughtful smile and the anticipation and confusion in her eyes, Ye You could hardly find words to express his feelings. Every unspoken thought etched itself into his heart.

After another hour, the celebration began to die down, most people packing up to leave.

The mont to bid farewell to the old year has passed, a new year has dawned, and people needed to return ho to prepare for the first day of the new year.

Ye You activated the second Invisible Bubble, allowing Qin Sisi to continue soaking in her peaceful revelry.

Thirty minutes later, Qin Sisi turned to Ye You and said, "Let’s go ho."

"Don’t you want to stay a bit longer? We still have ti," Ye You replied in a soft voice.

Qin Sisi shook her head, "No need, the liveliest mont has passed."

Ye You looked at Qin Sisi deeply, staying silent before hopping onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder.

"Wings of Rainbow!" Qin Sisi summoned, the rainbow-colored wings spreading wide behind her. They emitted a light brighter and more persistent than fireworks.

Qin Sisi took a last look at the field that had been like a sea of joy and, flapping her Rainbow Wings, flew off into the distance.

Snow started to fall, first a few scattered flurries before rapidly turning into a heavy snowfall.

Although the Invisible Bubble could hide her form, it wasn’t insubstantial. It wasn’t long before a small layer of snow accumulated on top of it.

Fortunately, the night was deep and silent, and amid the flurry of falling snow, no one noticed the swiftly moving snow-covered form in the sky.

They were nearing the residential area, and Qin Sisi slowed down her pace, flying leisurely to appreciate the snow on the night of New Year’s Eve.

Then, Ye You suddenly spoke, "Stop for a mont."

Qin Sisi was puzzled but stopped as told, turning to Ye You to ask, "What happened?"

Ye You’s ears twitched, and he pointed in the right direction, saying, "I think there’s a crying sound over there."

Qin Sisi was surprised. She strained her ears to listen, but she couldn’t hear anything, so she asked again, "Are you sure?"

Ye You nodded, replying confidently, "Yes, the crying is quite far. Maybe you couldn’t hear it because your magic power is weaker."

Qin Sisi squinted towards the direction Ye You was pointing, but all she saw was a flurry of snow, making it impossible to see what was happening in the distance.

But Ye You shouldn’t have misheard. New Year’s Eve was supposed to be a ti of joyous reunion and raucous celebration. Why would soone be crying outside?

After a mont’s thought, Qin Sisi said, "Let’s go check it out."

Qin Sisi controlled the Wings of Rainbow, flying through the heavy snow towards the direction Ye You indicated.

This area was an old one-story residential district, largely listed for demolition. Most people had already moved away, and very few inhabitants remained.

As Qin Sisi flew, after a while, sure enough, she started hearing the sobs of soone crying.

Startled, Qin Sisi imdiately sped up, didn’t need Ye You to guide her anymore, and flew directly towards the source of the crying sound.
