Chapter 376: Chapter 376: The Sound of the Piano on a Snowy Night_1

At eleven o’clock, Qin Sisi once again put on her warm black trench coat, donned a black face mask and witch hat, opened the balcony window, and leapt down. Within the invisible bubble of Ye You, she summoned the Wings of Rainbow and soared in the vast night sky.

Having been busy all night the day before, Qin Sisi and Ye You slept through the whole day and paid no attention to the weather outside after waking up.

Only when she jumped directly into the night sky did she notice that snowflakes had begun to fall at so uncertain ti.

Qin Sisi slowly fluttered the Wings of Rainbow, looking up at the ink-stained night sky that resembled a massive black hole. Countless delicate snowflakes fell like a never-ending cascade.

Shielded by the invisible bubble, the snowflakes couldn’t land on Qin Sisi and Ye You.

Even so, on a whim, Qin Sisi reached her hand out of the bubble to catch a tiny snowflake and inspected it closely.

The tiny snowflake, smaller than her pinky fingernail, lted instantly from the warmth of her palm, condensing into a sparkling and transparent droplet of water.

After Qin Sisi examined it for a while and was about to flick off the water droplet and continue her journey, Ye You on her shoulder suddenly lowered his head. His coarse tongue gently lapped at Qin Sisi’s palm, the droplet adhering to his tongue tip, cool and clear, akin to Qin Sisi’s serene and limpid eyes.

Qin Sisi stared in mild surprise, and as she looked up at Ye You, their eyes t. Outside the invisible bubble was the frigid chill of the snowfall, whereas inside was a warm gaze flowing with unclear intent.

"Let’s go," Ye You softly urged.

"Mm." Qin Sisi gingerly complied, her rosy cheeks rippled with faint smiles. Then she swiftly gathered her wits, controlling the Wings of Rainbow to fly off into the distance.

Since she was unfamiliar with the route, Qin Sisi didn’t fly fast. After about an hour, she arrived at the main gate of the No.1 Middle School in the city.

From mid-air, Qin Sisi flew over the gate and, according to the location she had found, went towards the haunted old library ntioned by Ding Jiayuan.

Without spending much ti, Qin Sisi found the old library.

Because it truly was very old, it consisted only of two floors. The style of the roof was classical. The sides were triangular, the top of the sharp peak was a straight line, and rows of red tiles were neatly arranged. The four corners of the roof curled up elegantly.

Around the first floor of the old library stood about 20 or 30 large red pillars, appearing extrely magnificent and conspicuous.

Qin Sisi hovered around the entire library in mid-air. Discovering that the windows on the second floor were sealed from the inside and would probably make a large noise if she forced an entry, she gave up the idea of entering through the windows. Instead, she controlled the Wings of Rainbow to slowly descend to the ground and walked leisurely to the front door of the library.

On the broad red wooden door were mottled traces of ti. A thick iron chain passed through the door handle, on which an iron lock was affixed.

Qin Sisi turned and nodded to Ye You on her shoulder. Ye You stared at the lock on the door, blinked hard, and with a click, the lock opened.

A faint smile curved on Qin Sisi’s lips. Just as she was about to push the door, suddenly, beautiful piano music emanated from the inside of the library.

Qin Sisi’s body stiffened, she shared a glance with Ye You, her expression filled with both gravity and joy.

The windows were sealed and the front door was tightly locked; definitely, no one had entered. With the piano sound ringing out, it was almost certain that a ghost was inside.

The joy was because another ghost was about to be hers.

The gravity was due to the fact that she was thankful, she didn’t agree to Ding Jiayuan coming along. Otherwise, Ding Jiayuan might have been scared.

This ti, after subduing the ghost, even if Ding Jiayuan cos in the future, she will not encounter any danger.

Qin Sisi lifted her head, watching the falling snowflakes, and thought of Ding Jiayuan’s words and the content she found online: Every rainy night, piano music would sound from the library.

Now with the snow fluttering in the sky, piano music echoed from the library.

Perhaps, whether it’s falling rain or flying snow, both could inspire the artistic inspiration in the ghost.

A string of beautiful piano notes drifted from the old library, blending the notes with the falling snow, a pleasing lody filled with intense sorrow.

Qin Sisi was very familiar with this piano piece—"Für Elise". Her father was a music teacher. When she was a child and would visit her father’s school, he would play pieces on the school’s piano for her. The piece most frequently played was "Für Elise".

Most of Beethoven’s compositions were majestic and mournful, with only a few small pieces that were soothing and romantic. "Für Elise" was among the most famous.

The first part of the piece was bright and lively, simple and playful, like an innocent and adorable girl who’s unfamiliar with worldly affairs.

The second part was sad and somber, with a few tones of seriousness and sadness.

So said that this piece expressed Beethoven’s yearning for beautiful love and the grief of a miserable romance.

Qin Sisi took a long breath, lifted her head from her reminiscence, and gently pushed open the library’s wooden door.

"Creak!" An age-long sound ca out from the ancient wooden door.

Qin Sisi walked into the library, closed the door behind her, and then put away the Wings of Rainbow.

Simultaneously, Ye You extended his claws and lit up the Ziwei Heaven Fire so that Qin Sisi wouldn’t be lost in darkness.

Qin Sisi held her position and surveyed her surroundings.

As expected it’s a library, with rows of bookshelves filled with books. However, judging by their color and binding, these books were very old.

As described in the forum posts, due to fear of the old library, only unwanted old books were placed in it, avoiding any necessity of entering to find books.

Nevertheless, the cleanliness of the walls and the ground was decent, showing that the cleaning staff had been quite responsible.

The mont Qin Sisi entered the library, the piano music abruptly ceased, leaving only a waveless silence.

Qin Sisi and Ye You exchanged looks. It appeared that the ghost might have already noticed them.

Qin Sisi gripped the Divine Dog’s Fury tight and slowly advanced further in, found the wooden staircase in the corner, and ascended to the second floor.

As in the past, the stairs emitted a creak with each step she took due to its old age.

Even though she was shielded by the invisible bubble, her presence was revealed by the continuous creaking.

Qin Sisi looked down at the worn-out and faded wooden stairs and shook her head helplessly. Taking a deep breath, she continued to move upstairs.

After so many encounters with ghosts along with Ye You, Qin Sisi had beco quite brave. Facing the imminent appearance of a ghost, she didn’t feel scared in the slightest.

The buildings from ancient tis seem to be much taller than the present ones. Qin Sisi felt like she had climbed up a massive staircase before finally setting foot on the second floor.
