Chapter 374: Chapter 374: I’ll Take You to Catch Ghosts_1

Unlike Ding Jiayuan and Ding Jiawang, Mrs. Ding didn’t enjoy having animals in the house and she urged her son: "Jiawang, hurry up and give the dog back to Master Qin."

Ding Jiawang hesitated. He looked down at Da Huang for a mont and reached out to gently touch its head.

With Ding Jiawang’s touch, Da Huang nuzzled his palm with his wet nose, an appeasing gesture that was hard to resist.

After contemplating for a bit, Ding Jiawang finally asked Qin Sisi, "Master Qin, it seems that this dog and I have a connection. Would you be willing to part with it?"

After saying this, Ding Jiawang quickly added, "If you’re not willing, I won’t force you."

After all, she was a mage with mana and she had helped him before. He didn’t want to cause unnecessary disputes over a dog.

Mr. Ding, at his daughter’s urging, also chid in: "Master Qin, if it’s a matter of money, don’t hesitate to speak up."

Qin Sisi’s gaze swept over the four faces of the family mbers, and finally, she said, "The most precious thing in the world is fate. Since Da Huang and Jiawang are fated to be together, let it be."

Ding Jiayuan cheered. A smile spread across Ding Jiawang’s face and he thanked Qin Sisi.

Ever helpful, Mr. Ding added: "Master Qin, how much did this dog cost you? I’ll pay double."

Qin Sisi shook her head calmly and said, "That won’t be necessary. After all, our eting was destined. Let Da Huang be a gift to Jiayuan and Jiawang."

Mr. Ding was slightly surprised but Qin Sisi’s words resonated with him. "Since Master Qin has said so, we’ll accept the kind gesture. If there’s anything I can help with in the future, I’ll do my best to offer assistance," he said graciously.

It was indeed rare for Mr. Ding, who was usually a hard man to please, to say such words.

Qin Sisi smiled in response, "Thank you, Mr. Ding."

Among the family of four, Mrs. Ding was the only one feeling out of sorts. However, with everyone else eager to accept the dog, she would seem unreasonable if she continued to resist. Therefore, she rely gave Da Huang a dismissive look and refrained from comnting further.

Qin Sisi didn’t worry about Mrs. Ding. It was obvious both Ding Jiayuan and Ding Jiawang liked Da Huang. Da Huang would lead a comfortable life here.

Interestingly enough, Jin Zhu’s ghost was considered attractive, yet she didn’t catch Ding Jiawang’s fancy.

Now, a fragnt of her spirit resided in a dog’s body. In its canine form, she seed to be receiving so attention from Ding Jiawang.

Perhaps it’s because Da Huang was entirely harmless.

The way of this world can truly be unpredictable.

Leaving Ding’s Mansion with Boss Zhang, Qin Sisi left Da Huang behind.

Just as Ye You had described, Da Huang was gentle, obedient, and smart. Not only did he win the affections of Ding Jiawang and Ding Jiayuan, but eventually even Mrs. Ding had co to accept him.

Da Huang lived with Ding Jiawang for twenty years, far beyond the average canine lifespan, before eventually passing away under Jiawang’s fond gaze.

But that’s a story for another ti.

After leaving Ding’s Mansion, Boss Zheng drove Qin Sisi ho.

Outside Qin Sisi’s apartnt complex, they opened the small suitcase Mr. Ding had gifted them; just like last ti, it contained 100,000 yuan in cash.

Both took the agreed-upon amount from the suitcase--70,000 yuan for Qin Sisi and 30,000 for Boss Zheng.

After returning ho, Qin Sisi tidied up briefly before cuddling up with Ye You for a good sleep.

Having not slept in over a day and being restless during the few hours of sleep earlier, her eyelids were on the brink of closing.

She didn’t wake until late in the afternoon.

After having dinner with Ye You, Qin Sisi was about to practice magic when her phone suddenly rang. The caller turned out to be Ding Jiayuan.

Qin Sisi was surprised. She had just left Ding’s Mansion in the morning and already there was a call. Could it be that sothing happened to Da Huang?

"Hello, Jiayuan, is anything the matter? Is Da Huang misbehaving?" asked Qin Sisi in confusion.

Ding Jiayuan quickly replied: "No, no, Da Huang is well behaved. He just keeps tagging along with my brother and paying little attention to ," said Jiayuan, her voice slightly petulant.

Unable to reveal the truth, Qin Sisi could only comfort her, "Feed him often and spend more ti with him. I’m sure he will grow to like you."

"I hope so," said Ding Jiayuan with a sigh.

"Jiayuan, so why did you actually call?" Qin Sisi asked curiously, as Jiayuan was yet to state the reason for her call.

Lowering her voice, Ding Jiayuan asked, "Sisi, is it true that you can catch ghosts?"

Instead of directly answering, Qin Sisi cautiously asked, "Why do you ask?"

"Well, there is a ghost at our school, and I was wondering if you could help us catch it," Jiayuan said mysteriously, her voice sent a chill down Qin Sisi’s spine.

Qin Sisi fell silent for a mont before finally saying, "Jiayuan, stop joking. I am really busy."

Seeing that Qin Sisi didn’t believe her, Jiayuan hurriedly exclaid, "I’m not joking, there really is a ghost in our school’s old library. It is said to play the piano when it rains at night. That’s what everyone says."

Qin Sisi couldn’t contain her amusent, "Everyone says? Has everyone in your school seen this ghost?"

Ghost stories often circulated about old buildings. At tis, these could be real, while at others, they were rely due to one’s imagination, leading to exaggerated tales.

Jiayuan hesitated, "Well, nobody I know has seen it, but it’s a popular story. So, I chose to believe it."

After mulling it over, she said, "Sisi, let’s just go and see. If it’s a ghost, we catch it, if not, consider it a fun outing. How does that sound?"

Shaking her head, Qin Sisi thought, Did she think ghost catching was so sort of a ga?

Saying that, even if there was a ghost, Qin Sisi certainly couldn’t take Jiayuan with her.

First, it could be dangerous, and heavy yin energy might adversely affect Jiayuan’s health and luck.

Secondly, her Wings of Rainbow, fire magic, and Ye You’s hidden identity could not be exposed to others. Otherwise, it would undoubtedly result in endless trouble in the future.

Therefore, Qin Sisi refused, "Jiayuan, I have lots of things to do and can’t join you on your adventure. You should go with your classmates instead."

Jiayuan rushed to add, "But... but none of us know how to deal with ghosts. What if there really is one?"

So, in reality, Jiayuan wasn’t even sure if there was a ghost? It seed more like she was looking for an adventurous outing.
