Chapter 359: Chapter 359: Bringing the Big Yellow Dog Ho_1
Deep into the night when all was quiet, cloaked under an invisible bubble, Qin Sisi controlled the vibrant and dazzling Wings of Rainbow, flying across the star-speckled night sky.
Ye You, as usual, was perched on Qin Sisi’s shoulder, his gaze frequently drifting towards the bundle in her arms, an expression of dissatisfaction on his face.
In Qin Sisi’s arms was the large dog Da Huang, raised by Chen Gang.
Qin Sisi feared that if the villagers of Chen Gang’s village found Da Huang, they would kill him, which is why she insisted on taking him away.
Da Huang being too large could not be concealed, and hence, couldn’t travel by car.
In the end, Qin Sisi had to choose to fly back to S City using the Wings of Rainbow in the middle of the night.
To avoid Da Huang from struggling and potentially hurting anyone, Ye You put him into a deep sleep with his magic.
Thus, Qin Sisi set off, carrying Da Huang in her arms.
However, holding such a big dog was indeed physically exhausting.
After an hour of flight, Qin Sisi, drained of energy, gradually descended to the ground.
They had landed at the edge of a highway’s green belt. It was the middle of winter, deciduous trees all around had withered, only so evergreens remained, albeit with a slightly dull color.
Fearful of getting lost, Qin Sisi decided to follow the highway back, using the road signs on it for navigation.
As soon as they landed, Qin Sisi quickly put Da Huang down on the ground, and began rubbing her sore arms.
Ye You looked at Qin Sisi sympathetically, sighed, and raised a paw which gathered a large cluster of green light. He lightly waved his paw, and the green light floated up to envelop Qin Sisi.
After a while, the green light gradually faded away, and Qin Sisi felt refreshed and invigorated.
Qin Sisi turned towards Ye You, grinned in gratitude, and gently said, "In the Spring Breeze."
The na of this magic skill was In the Spring Breeze. Once before, when Qin Sisi had wanted to practice her magic for a while, Ye You had used this skill to help her restore energy.
Ye You blinked his purple eyes and said in a deep voice, "Good, you rembered."
"Of course I rember." Qin Sisi replied crisply, looking at the slumbering Da Huang on the ground, she couldn’t help but sigh. "Oh, this guy is just too heavy."
Ye You frowned internally, and told Qin Sisi, "We are quite far from C City now, let’s just leave it here!"
Qin Sisi pondered for a while, then shook her head and said, "I still don’t feel right about it. Since we’ve already taken him with us, let’s take him ho first."
Ye You sighed and said helplessly, "Alright, be careful, and if you’re tired, let
know."
"Got it." Qin Sisi said sweetly to Ye You, her eyes shone with trust.
Then, Qin Sisi picked up Da Huang and resud the journey.
After another hour, the effective ti of the Invisible Bubble had run out. Qin Sisi had no choice but to retract the Wings of Rainbow. Ye You then used his magic power to condense a silver sphere to carry them forward.
Since condensing the silver sphere required maintaining as well as propelling it forward, Ye You’s magic power could only sustain it for about an hour.
When Ye You also started feeling exhausted, they were forced to stop.
Qin Sisi found a motel in the nearest village by the highway for a day’s rest. They resud their journey on the following night, first using the Wings of Rainbow, then Ye You’s silver sphere.
Finally, just before dawn, they managed to return to S City.
Ye You was very weary at this point, but since they were so close to their ho, he didn’t want to give up.
So he gritted his teeth, struggling to keep the silver sphere intact, and finally brought Qin Sisi and Da Huang back to their residential complex.
At the foot of their residential building, Ye You stopped, removed the Invisible Bubble and, exhausted, flopped onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder.
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You with concern. She wanted to hold him in her arms, but with Da Huang already in her arms, she had no way to hold Ye You. So, she swallowed her guilt, and headed quickly up the stairs to their flat.
Upon returning ho, Qin Sisi released a long sigh, put Da Huang down on the ground, and quickly held Ye You in her arms, softly asking, "Xiao Hei, how are you?"
Ye You managed to lift his eyes and replied softly, "I’m fine, just need to rest a bit."
After saying that, Ye You used the last of his magic power to aim a purple light at Da Huang from one of his paws, ensuring Da Huang would continue to sleep for another day. This would prevent any harm coming to Qin Sisi and himself in case Da Huang woke up during their rest.
Ye You, weakly nestled into Qin Sisi’s embrace, slowly closed his eyes.
Qin Sisi, feeling heartbroken, gently kissed Ye You’s fluffy forehead, before carrying him off to the bedroom.
Not taking the ti to tidy up, she just made their bed. Qin Sisi hugged Ye You and drifted off to sleep.
The two nights of flying had left both of them utterly worn out.
It wasn’t until noon the next day that Qin Sisi managed to crawl out of bed. She stretched her sowhat sore body and looked back at the still sleeping Ye You. A faint smile appeared on her lips.
Qin Sisi tiptoed out of the bedroom to the kitchen to cook. Being away from ho for several days, there were no vegetables left.
So, she first made a pot of rice porridge, then stepped out to a nearby convenience store to buy so vegetables and at, and fried two dishes.
After serving the al and placing it on the dining table, Qin Sisi gently pushed open the bedroom door, walked to the bedside, and gently patted Ye You’s body, softly calling out, "Xiao Hei".
However, Ye You seed to be in a deep sleep and didn’t respond.
Qin Sisi rembered the ti when they helped Qian Qian jump the reincarnation queue. Ye You had used up all of his magic power to infuse spiritual power into the yellow paper. He had slept for a whole day and night before waking up.
Could this ti be the sa?
Unable to wake Ye You, Qin Sisi felt disappointed and sowhat concerned.
She returned to the living room, ate a few bites, and then put down the chopsticks.
Fearing that Ye You might wake up earlier, and that the food would lose its taste if put in the fridge, Qin Sisi covered the dishes with two large bowls.
Without Ye You to create a magical barrier, Qin Sisi couldn’t practice her magic, for fear of causing a fire.
Feeling a bit frustrated, Qin Sisi realized there were many things she couldn’t do without Ye You.
In the end, she could only nestle on the sofa and flip through her magic notebook.
It wasn’t an entirely unproductive activity though. Those sowhat abstruse theories of magic, through multiple readings, began to beco clearer. It was as if a small stream was forming in her mind, stringing together all the knowledge she had accumulated.
The sun set again, and the night deepened.
Qin Sisi had been reading her magic notebook for a while, and feeling a bit sleepy. She thought to lean on the sofa for a little nap but fell asleep instead.
