Chapter 335: Chapter 335 Arrogant Black-Clothed Fat Mage_1

Both sadness and joy filled Qin Sisi’s heart upon hearing the old man’s words. She wanted to comfort him but didn’t know where to start, so she quietly said, "Thank you."

With a flick of Ye You’s paw, the snow-white Spirit Conversion Bottle was conjured, slowly swirling in mid-air, summoning the ghost willing to give up its Soul Power.

The old man’s figure gradually turned transparent until it transford into faint white smoke, drifting gently into the Spirit Conversion Bottle.

Having gathered the old man’s Soul Power, there was technically no need for his eldest son to keep mourning at the grave, but Qin Sisi didn’t want to let him off easy.

Not until the old man’s eldest son and daughter-in-law had finished their three-day mourning did Qin Sisi inform them calmly that everything had been resolved and there would be no more misfortunes to co.

The eldest son and daughter-in-law expressed their gratitude towards Qin Sisi. They massaged their sore backs and legs, supporting each other as they slowly walked away.

It was the sixth day of the twelfth lunar month, the villagers had started slaughtering pigs and sheep, making tofu; the atmosphere of the upcoming New Year was starting to fill the air.

After bidding the innkeepers goodbye, Qin Sisi boarded the four o’clock bus to C City.

As the bus bumped along the rugged mountain roads, she reflected on the events of the past few days, feeling those short three days had spanned particularly long.

Qin Sisi once asked Ye You whether he had guessed the old man’s intentions to kill his second son and daughter-in-law.

Ye You admitted he had so suspicions, but he hadn’t been entirely sure.

Qin Sisi felt a small resentnt towards Ye You. If he had warned her, perhaps she could’ve dissuaded the old man from murdering them. Now, two lives were lost and the old man had committed a serious cri.

Ye You, shaking his head, responded, "So things, perhaps, are destined to happen and are beyond human control. Let’s imagine what would’ve happened if we hadn’t been there..."

Qin Sisi reflected on this. Without her intervention, the old man would probably have tornted his daughters-in-law long term, causing them endless nightmares and ill health. Also, the heavy Yin energy in the family house would have affected his sons’ health and fortune.

Over ti, this unhealthy environnt would’ve shortened the lives of all four.

Had the old man’s ghost been noticed and they called upon an unreliable mage to perform rituals to trap it, they likely would’ve ended up doing what the fat black-robed mage did - driving a nail into the grave.

Supposing the old man’s ghost was truly trapped, his sons and daughters-in-law would have been free from danger, but treating an ancestor in such a way wouldn’t bring prosperity or harmony to the household.

The trapped ghost of the old man would’ve descended into eternal loneliness, filled with sorrow and despair.

If the old man’s ghost had luckily escaped, it would’ve been difficult for his two sons and daughters-in-law to avoid his wrathful vengeance.

Thinking about these possibilities, Qin Sisi felt sowhat relieved.

Although she hadn’t been able to fully change the circumstances, at least she had turned the situation toward a better direction.

The fact that the old man’s second son and daughter-in-law were beyond redemption was not sothing she could control.

Qin Sisi held Ye You tightly, rubbing her chin against his soft fur.

Ye You, feeling playful, raised his head and gently licked Qin Sisi’s chin.

Qin Sisi’s face flushed bright red as she softly scolded, "You..."

A gentle smile filled Ye You’s purple eyes.

Qin Sisi, with a quick glance at the other passengers on the bus, didn’t dare engage further in their playful exchange. Instead, she gently pinched his back and broke into a bashfully joyful smile.

By the ti they arrived in C City, it was already evening. The bus to return to S City had already departed and they would have to wait until the next day to get ho.

Feeling slightly vexed, Qin Sisi hugged Ye You and stepped out of the bus station, ready to find a hotel to spend the night.

Just as Qin Sisi was looking around for a hotel, two familiar figures entered her vision.

One was the fat black-robed mage who had been hired by the old man’s second son and daughter-in-law to drive a nail into the old man’s grave.

The other astonishingly was Mi Xian, the female college student Qin Sisi had t on the bus from S City to C City.

How had these two unrelated people ended up together?

Intrigued, Qin Sisi took a few steps towards them.

She noticed Mi Xian walking at a faster pace while the fat mage strolled along leisurely behind her. Every few steps, Mi Xian would stop and wait for the mage, displaying a sense of urgency.

Growing tired of guessing, Qin Sisi strode up and called out, "Mi Xian."

Hearing her na, Mi Xian instinctively turned around. With an expression of delight, she exclaid, "Qin Sisi! What a coincidence!"

Qin Sisi gave the fat mage a aningful look and replied with a restrained smile, "Indeed, didn’t you invite

to visit you when I’m free?"

There was a slight hesitation before Mi Xian replied, "Of course, you’re welco to visit. However, sothing happened at my house recently..."

Qin Sisi swiftly responded, "No worries. Maybe I can help with whatever is going on."

As she said those words, Qin Sisi realised she might have been a bit presumptuous.

However, her curiosity about why Mi Xian was with the fat mage led her to find out what was happening. She didn’t want Mi Xian to be fooled by the mage.

Just then, the fat mage impatiently spoke, "Miss Mi Xian, who exactly did you bring to do the work,

or soone else?"

Quickly putting on an appeasing smile, Mi Xian explained, "Master, she’s my friend. I’d already invited her to visit my house. We just happened to run into each other today, so we’re going together."

The fat mage looked at Qin Sisi disapprovingly. He hadn’t forgotten how she had interfered with his ritual a few days earlier in the hill village.

Seeing the disapproval on his face, Qin Sisi knew she was not in the mage’s good graces. Blinking her eyes, she respectfully curtsied to him, saying, "Master, I am only planning to visit a friend for a few days. I won’t interfere with your important tasks."

The fat mage snorted and replied arrogantly, "Fine. I’m a magnanimous person, I won’t bother arguing with children like you. But if you disrupt my rituals again, don’t bla

for being rude."

Qin Sisi imdiately responded in an understanding tone, "Rest assured, Master."

Seeing Qin Sisi behave so modestly, the fat mage refrained from speaking further, allowing Mi Xian to take the lead as they continued their journey.

When they reached the main road, Mi Xian hailed a taxi and everyone got in, heading to where Mi Xian’s house was located.

Mi Xian made sure the fat mage sat in the passenger seat at the front, while she and Qin Sisi sat in the back.

The mage didn’t have his hat on today, exposing his shiny, bald head. His round do peeked over the top of the seat, reflecting a dazzling light that seed funny against the upholstery of the seat.
