Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Night Investigation of the Cri Scene_1

Qin Sisi stared into Ning Hao’s eyes, asking with a serious tone, "If that’s the case, why won’t you accept my help."

Ning Hao looked at Qin Sisi, a hint of affection, unnoticed even to him, evident in his eyes. He said softly, "Sisi, I’m just worried about you..."

Qin Sisi interrupted Ning Hao, "Ning Hao, do you think I’m the kind who acts impulsively?"

Ning Hao remained silent. Despite her young age, Qin Sisi was indeed very steady in her actions.

Qin Sisi went on, "Since I dared to take on this case, I am confident enough."

"But..." Ning Hao was still hesitant.

If his opponent were human, he would naturally strategize and strike fearlessly. However, dealing with an unknown ghost, as an ordinary person, his heart harbored so fear.

Moreover, he wasn’t sure just how capable Qin Sisi was in this regard and feared she might get hurt in trying to capture the culprit.

The brightness in Qin Sisi’s eyes was clear and pure. She said firmly, "I am a Mage. Catching ghosts is my responsibility. Whether or not you go, I will be at the scene of the cri tonight to search for clues related to that ghost."

Ning Hao’s heart sank, saying imdiately: "Then of course I’ll also go. Success or failure, we need to give it a try."

Qin Sisi smiled slightly and said, "Good, glad we could work together."

With that, Qin Sisi stretched out her hand towards Ning Hao.

Ning Hao understood the gesture. A smile tugged at his lip, and he reached out and gently high-fived Qin Sisi.

Thinking of the task for that night, Ning Hao uneasily asked, "Should we find so more ’brothers’ to go with us?"

Qin Sisi shook her head and said, "Ordinary people can’t help much with ghost-catching. Besides, if too many people know about it, I’m afraid it will cause panic."

Ning Hao thought for a mont. Realizing that Qin Sisi made sense, he replied, "Alright, let’s not call anybody else then. Are there any preparations we need to make?"

Thinking of Ye You’s recent instructions, Qin Sisi asked, "Do you have glasses?"

Ning Hao found the question strange but still answered earnestly, "I have sunglasses in the car. Occasionally wear them when driving."

"That will do," Qin Sisi said, "There’s nothing else I need. I’m going ho to rest a bit to ensure I have enough energy for tonight."

"Alright, I’ll drive you ho."

Ning Hao led Qin Sisi to his car and drove her back to their residential area.

The two agreed to set off at nine in the evening, and Qin Sisi got out of the car and went ho.

Ning Hao sat in the car, watching Qin Sisi’s silhouette disappear in the distance, his eyes filled with a complicated yet tender gaze.

Ning Hao returned ho afterward, intending to rest for a while to regain his energy for the night’s activities. However, sleep continued to elude him.

Qin Sisi’s face and words constantly flashed in his mind. Filled with worry about the night’s actions, Ning Hao finally gave up on sleep. He got up from the bed, and practiced boxing on the punching bag in his room for two hours. Only then, exhausted, did he finally close his eyes.

At nine o’clock in the evening, Ning Hao appeared promptly beneath Qin Sisi’s apartnt. He had just lit a cigarette when he saw Qin Sisi coming out of the building. Ning Hao hurriedly put out the cigarette.

Qin Sisi entered the car with a white sweater and jeans on, covered by a black trench coat. Her black ponytail swayed with her movents.

Despite the simple outfit, Ning Hao found it hard to take his eyes off her.

Sisi opened the car door and told Ning Hao, "Let’s go."

"Hmm," Ning Hao answered with a nod, but made no move to start the car. Instead, he took a few more glances at Sisi before asking, "Is that coat yours?"

Sisi froze for a mont, then laughed casually, "Yes, why?"

Ning Hao lightly smiled and said, "Nothing, just thought it seed a bit on the large side."

Sisi felt sowhat nervous in her heart. Ye You, nestled in her embrace, also twitched his ears slightly. Ning Hao, however, didn’t linger on the subject. He stepped on the gas, and they headed toward their destination for the night.

Sisi lowered her head, her palm gently stroking Ye You’s soft back, thinking to herself, ’what sharp eyes.’

The coat she wore was the self-heating one given to her by Ye You. Uncertain they could indeed catch the nacing ghost that night, she had prepared for the possibility of waiting fruitlessly the entire night.

As the weather grew colder, fearing she might get cold, Qin Sisi decided to wear the coat. She hadn’t expected Ning Hao to notice how oversized it was for her.

After all, as the coat belonged to Ye You, it was naturally too large for her.

Sisi discreetly glanced at Ning Hao, who was focused on driving, seemingly not bothered by the previous subject. She was slightly relieved.

They arrived at the building where the beauty salon was located. It was late at night and the first five floors were in darkness. The staff working in these places would naturally have left by now.

As Ning Hao was about to get out of the car, Sisi asked, "Where are the glasses?"

"Here." Ning Hao had rembered that Sisi ntioned needing glasses, so he had put the sunglasses in his pocket in advance. As Sisi brought up the topic, he fetched them from his pocket and handed them to her.

With a nonchalant look, Sisi took the sunglasses and said, "Let’s go."

Before Ning Hao had a chance to respond, Sisi already opened the car door and stepped out. At that mont, her back to Ning Hao, a faint purple light shot out from Ye You’s eyes, spreading invisibly on the sunglasses in her hands.

Ning Hao got out of the car, locked the door, and walked over to Sisi.

Sisi handed him the sunglasses, saying, "It’s ready. Once you put on the glasses, you will be able to see ghosts."

Even though Ning Hao was brave, he hesitated before putting on the glasses. However, once he did, he saw no anomalies around him and gradually relaxed.

The two took the elevator straight to the sixth floor where the beauty parlor was located.

It seed fine during the day, but coming here again in the depth of the night, they felt an additional chill in the air for no apparent reason.

Ning Hao, having been here many tis, was familiar with this place. He quickly found the switch for the light and turned it on.

The light, spreading warm brightness, sowhat dissipated the coldness in the room.

Ning Hao looked around, asking, "Do you think it’s here?"

Sisi also looked around before answering, "Not currently. However, I have a feeling that it may be lurking nearby. If sothing unusual happens here, it might be tempted to co back and check."

"Unusual event?" Ning Hao frowned, deep in thought.

Sisi suddenly asked, "Have the lights been turned on here during the past few nights?"

Shaking his head, Ning Hao answered, "No, it’s best to investigate a cri scene during the day. As no one ca here at night, the lights wouldn’t have been turned on."
