Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Every Debt Has Its Debtor_1

Not long after, a more familiar scene arose.

The river, the sa river where Xiao Jin’s body was dumped by two thugs.

Under the dim street lamp, the silently-flowing river seed like an abyss of slowly shifting darkness, leading to a lifeless chasm.

Zhou Zichen started to drive onto the bridge over the river. Upon seeing this empty bridge, Qin Sisi felt a surge of inexplicable fear. Just as she was about to warn Ye You, suddenly, a terrifying scene unfolded.

Zhou Zichen’s car, which had been driving at a moderate speed, unexpectedly started to accelerate. It was like a wild horse that lost control, veering erratically on the narrow bridge.

After several chaotic spins, the car accelerated once more, charging straight toward the bridge railing.

With a deafening crash, fragnts of rubble flew around. The barrier was torn open as Zhou Zichen’s car plunged straight into the river.

With a splash, a huge wave fanned out. Then the car slowly sank. Finally, everything subsided, as if nothing had happened.

Qin Sisi suddenly rembered at the instant of the car’s plunge into the water, how strikingly similar it was to the scene of Xiao Jin’s corpse being dumped. Could this be retribution?

Or was it so revenge seeker’s purposeful act?

Qin Sisi’s heart clenched. She hurried over to Zhuang Qin not far in front and asked fervently, "Did you do this?"

Zhuang Qin shook his head, "I didn’t."

"It wasn’t you?" Qin Sisi exclaid with widened eyes.

Zhuang Qin paused, then said, "This scene does align with my plans. I was about to act when it happened."

If not Zhuang Qin, who then? Could this really have been an accident caused by Zhou Zichen drunk driving?

Qin Sisi looked puzzled at the scattered rubble, the broken railing, and the dark water.

Ye You, however, was looking in a different direction. Calmly, he said, "It was her."

Her?

Qin Sisi imdiately looked in the direction indicated. Zhuang Qin too discerned sothing and looked that way.

On the other side of the bridge, a slender figure stood by the bridge’s edge. Her white blouse was clean; a pair of beautiful legs were straight underneath her black skirt; her dark hair was draped over her shoulders, and her face was clear, even with a touch of adolescent innocence.

"Is that you?" Zhuang Qin exclaid.

Qin Sisi naturally recognized her; it was Xiao Jin, the female server from the nightclub who was killed by Zhou Zichen.

However, she was dead. The figure before them could only be her ghost.

Xiao Jin floated over to Zhuang Qin; her beautiful eyes locked onto this man, to her both a stranger and an acquaintance.

They were strangers because they had never t in life before; they had not spoken a word to each other.

Yet they were also acquaintances; after Qin Sisi had left the private room last night, Zhuang Qin had said many things to Xiao Jin’s cold corpse on the floor - about his grievances, unwillingness, persistence, belief...

He also said, "I’m sorry I couldn’t save you."

Yet, surely it wasn’t he who should be apologizing, but the man who, despite his veneer of sophistication committed murder at the least provocation.

But he took all the bla upon himself, crying inconsolably in front of her corpse.

From the corner of the dark room, Xiao Jin watched this man who was weeping for her.

Her body was starting to stiffen, and as a ghost, she was already cold. But for the first ti, Xiao Jin felt warmth in her heart.

"Thank you," Xiao Jin’s ruby lips parted slightly; her ethereal voice echoing like it ca from the distant heavens.

This was the second ti she uttered these words. Last night in the private room, Zhuang Qin thought he was alone with a cold corpse, unaware that another ghost was not far from him.

He thought he was keeping her company, but in reality, she was also keeping him company.

Looking at the familiar face in front of him, Zhuang Qin smiled wistfully, kindly, warmly.

As Qin Sisi watched the interaction between Zhuang Qin and Xiao Jin, she said with a sudden realization, "So her ghost didn’t go far but was lurking nearby, waiting for the right mont for revenge."

Lowering her gaze towards Ye You, she asked, "Did you know this all along?"

Ye You nodded his head; he had sensed Xiao Jin’s ghostly return last night when he and Qin Sisi had left the private room.

Qin Sisi pouted and muttered under her breath, "All that talk about her appearing when she wants, making things sound mysterious."

Ye You gave a gentle smile, saying, "Now she’s had her revenge, and Zhuang Qin is able to retain his high moral character, isn’t this the best outco?"

Qin Sisi looked at the two serene ghosts with twinkling eyes in the distance and silently nodded her head.

Just then, a gust of cold wind blew, lifting Qin Sisi’s clothes and hair. A chill crept onto her exposed skin through her clothes, causing her to shiver involuntarily.

She looked up while holding Ye You and saw a figure in a black cloak hovering in mid-air. The figure’s entire head was concealed in the shadow of the black hat, with no discernible features, evoking a sense of terror.

The ssenger of Death.

Qin Sisi had already encountered it once when she collected Wang Longhe’s ghost. However, there was not just one ssenger of Death in the underworld. She wondered if it was the sa one she had seen last ti.

It probably wouldn’t be that much of a coincidence. The two places were so far apart, and there were many ssengers of Death.

The ssenger of Death wasn’t looking at Qin Sisi, rather, he stood behind Xiao Jin and said coldly, "Your ti has co. Leave your mortal affairs and journey with ."

Xiao Jin glanced at Zhuang Qin one last ti before turning and floating towards the ssenger of Death.

Last night, Xiao Jin was stabbed to death by Zhou Zichen with a broken beer bottle. Her soul, though had not reconciled to the fact that she was already dead, pooled all her strength to run out of the nightclub and into the desolate and endless night.

Then, the ssenger of Death appeared and inford her that her earthly life had ended and it was ti for her to report to the underworld.

With the thought of her young life being unjustly squandered, Xiao Jin stubbornly asked the ssenger of Death for a little ti to exact revenge. Once her revenge was settled, she would willingly go to the underworld with him.

The ssenger of Death was still reeling from the admonishnt for having previously lost Wang Longhe’s ghost. Although he took the opportunity to extort so money from Qin Sisi, it was nevertheless a chastising experience, so now, this ghost was important to him.

After so consideration, the ssenger of Death agreed to Xiao Jin’s request.

"I will return for you in 24 hours, and I hope you keep your promise. If not, you will be dood to suffer eternal tornt in the underworld."

So, Xiao Jin finally claid her revenge on the second night.

And when the ssenger of Death reappeared, Xiao Jin naturally went with him.
