Chapter 1445: Side Story 3: I’m Your Painkiller (Lin Shan Side Story)
The unexpected death of her sister beca an eternal pain for Lin Shan; she often saw her sister gently smiling at her in her dreams.
Because of this, she had always avoided love. Whenever a man showed interest in her, she instinctively kept her distance, giving no one any chance.
Several years passed in a flash. Now thirty, Lin Shan spent all those years focused on her job, managing to save up so money.
After carefully considering, she decided to buy a small apartnt in the city, a one-bedroom, one-living room place, which would provide so stability.
During the weekend, she visited several properties and took a liking to one that t her requirents with good infrastructure; the price was exactly all she had saved. It seed just right!
After discussing the paynt date with the sales lady, Lin Shan felt delighted overall.
On the agreed day, she got up early, dressed nicely to look lively, and prepared to head out after tidying up.
Just then, a tooth suddenly started aching.
The sudden pain made Lin Shan moan involuntarily, holding her cheek tightly, nearly in tears.
She had to put down her handbag and pour herself a glass of hot water, but even after drinking it, the toothache didn’t ease.
With no other choice, Lin Shan postponed her visit to the sales office and took a cab to the hospital.
After going through the necessary procedures, Lin Shan finally sat in front of a doctor in a white coat and mask.
Preoccupied with the pain, Lin Shan didn’t pay much attention to the doctor, only knowing he was a man.
The doctor observed Lin Shan for a mont, then had her lie down and open her mouth for an examination.
"Your wisdom tooth is inflad," said the doctor softly with a final conclusion.
"Do I need dication?" Lin Shan asked quietly.
"Yes," the doctor replied, "I’ll prescribe you so antibiotics."
Lin Shan asked with a frown: "Could I also get so painkillers, or else I can’t work."
The toothache was too distracting, and antibiotics wouldn’t work instantly, making her unable to accomplish anything.
The doctor hesitated: "If you can endure it, it’s better not to take painkillers."
Lin Shan blurted out: "The point is, I can’t."
The doctor couldn’t help but smile and said, "Alright then!"
After writing the prescription, the doctor carefully instructed Lin Shan on where to get the dication.
Lin Shan noted everything carefully, feeling a good impression of the doctor, and said brightly, "Got it, thank you, doctor, goodbye."
The doctor was about to say "goodbye" but paused, then asked, "Have you ever lived in S City?"
Lin Shan was taken aback, nodded, and replied, "Yes, you..."
Seeing Lin Shan’s puzzled gaze, the doctor removed his mask, revealing a scholarly face with regular features—not particularly handso but pleasing, with a gentle smile on the lips.
Lin Shan was even more confused: "I don’t think I know you?"
The doctor pursed his lips, hesitated, and then said, "I rember, your sister passed away at S City First Hospital."
Upon hearing the words "sister," Lin Shan felt a deep pain in her heart and her expression turned sorrowful.
The doctor imdiately said apologetically, "I’m sorry for making you sad."
Lin Shan forced a slight smile, shook her head, and said, "It’s okay."
The doctor carefully observed Lin Shan’s expression and softly said, "I rember, the day your sister passed away, you rushed out of the ward. I was just passing by the door, and you held onto , pleading for help for your sister."
"Huh?" Lin Shan looked at the earnest doctor in surprise, feeling both sad and awkward.
It indeed happened, but she was so distressed that she randomly clutched a passerby in a white coat, crying and sobbing, saring tears and snot all over him.
She thought such an embarrassing incident had long passed, but unexpectedly, life is full of surprises. She encountered such a ’non-acquaintance’ acquaintance thousands of miles from S City in the south.
Seeing Lin Shan’s embarrassnt, the doctor understandingly said, "Go get your dicine, I prescribed three days’ worth. If the symptoms don’t ease after three days, co back to see , here’s my business card."
