Chapter 1391: Chapter 1391: The Only Friend
Under the guidance of Inkwest City, Mu Ze’s flute skills improved, his magic power grew stronger, and he beca more familiar with Inkwest City.
Mu Ze regarded Inkwest City as his best friend, his closest elder brother, and he would confide in him about anything on his mind.
Inkwest City mostly listened, only occasionally speaking, appearing aloof, but only he knew how important Mu Ze was to him.
Mu Ze was the only warmth in his lonely life, his only friend, the most important person for his future vitality.
He was willing to do his utmost to help him, guide him, let him achieve what he wanted.
Inkwest City was a deity, and for deities, eating and sleeping were optional.
Mu Ze would bring the delicious food he’d tasted to share with Inkwest City, and only then Inkwest City realized that food could not only fill the stomach but also bring happiness.
Normally, Inkwest City’s appearance wouldn’t change, but Mu Ze would gradually grow up and age.
Since the day he t Mu Ze, Inkwest City had been worried about what he would do if one day Mu Ze was gone, how he would face the long, lonely tis ahead.
Before he found an answer, Mu Ze suddenly told him that he had fallen for a girl and might soon get married.
This left Inkwest City at a loss for quite a while, as he began to realize that Mu Ze had grown up and was no longer the little boy who liked to be by his side; he would have other lives, and in those lives, there was no place for him.
No matter how unwilling Inkwest City was, a year later, Mu Ze still got married.
Mu Ze invited Inkwest City to the wedding, but he did not go; he only sent a very expensive gift, one so precious that it outshone all the other gifts at the wedding.
Married life occupied much of Mu Ze’s ti, and he had less and less ti to accompany Inkwest City.
However, Mu Ze still regarded Inkwest City as an important elder brother and would still try to find ti to visit him, bringing along delicious food handmade by his wife.
Inkwest City ate the food made by Mu Ze’s wife, finding it tasteless and feigned a smile.
Five years later, Mu Ze’s father couldn’t withstand the heavenly tribulation during his breakthrough and turned to ashes within it, and his mother fell seriously ill from grief.
Among all their children, Mu Ze’s magic power was the strongest, so he was nad the heir and succeeded as the clan leader.
Because of this, Mu Ze beca much busier, having to care for the Mu family’s affairs and being responsible for the whole Mu Water Clan, making it harder to find ti to visit Inkwest City at Kurosawa Highland, with months passing sotis without a single visit, returning Inkwest City’s life to its previous tranquility and loneliness.
Being relatively young, Mu Ze encountered many difficulties in ruling the Mu Water Clan and, after much pondering, went to Kurosawa Highland to seek advice from Inkwest City.
Inkwest City didn’t like the outside world’s clamor, but seeing Mu Ze’s furrowed brow and expectant eyes, he agreed to Mu Ze’s request, leaving Kurosawa Highland with him and moving into the Chief Mansion of Stoning Plain.
However, Inkwest City’s cold and arrogant personality didn’t deign to flatter small and petty characters, so he outright killed those who constantly caused trouble for Mu Ze.
With a deity of formidable magic as a guardian, no one dared disrespect Mu Ze anymore, but fear spread among the Mu family mbers.
At this mont, the highly respected grand elderly Pu Lizi intervened. He approached Mu Ze, advising him to let Inkwest City leave the Mu family.
He believed that since Mu Ze had succeeded as clan leader, he should rely on his own strength to solve problems. No clan leader excelled from the start; all experienced hardship and effort first.
Although Inkwest City possessed impressive mana, he was not of the Mu family. Having him here, deciding life and death, could harm the unity of the family.
Mu Ze was incredibly grateful for the help Inkwest City provided, and sincerely, he was reluctant to have Inkwest City leave.
Unfortunately, when the grand elderly Pu Lizi advised Mu Ze, Inkwest City overheard.
Seeing soone deliberately trying to drive a wedge between him and Mu Ze, Inkwest City was furious. He disliked this environnt of plots and sches and was only staying here for Mu Ze.
In his anger, Inkwest City unleashed his magic power to attack Pu Lizi, but considering Mu Ze, he was lenient, not intending to kill him,
but since he had already slain many, Mu Ze thought he wanted to kill Elder Pu Lizi and rushed to stop him, stepping in front of Pu Lizi.
Inkwest City’s expression changed, hurriedly withdrawing his magic power, just barely missing Mu Ze with a fierce strike.
Inkwest City’s face darkened, realizing that in Mu Ze’s heart, Pu Lizi was that important.
"Xiao Ze, how about we leave here? Stop being a clan leader; let’s go to Kurosawa Highland together and stay away from these bad people forever."
This was the first request Inkwest City made to Mu Ze—a deity of high status, never before begging anyone.
Before Mu Ze could answer, Pu Lizi already sternly shouted, "Shut up! Mu Ze is the clan leader of the Mu Water Clan; how can he leave at will? Inkwest City, stop spreading your nonsense and return to your Kurosawa Highland without further disturbance to the chief."
Pu Lizi’s words indicated a desire to separate Inkwest City and Mu Ze forever.
Inkwest City could not tolerate Pu Lizi’s reprimand and could even less bear to be forever separated from Mu Ze. In rage and grievance, he finally harbored murderous intent towards Pu Lizi. Torrential magic power ford waves capable of devouring everything, sweeping towards Pu Lizi.
"Grand Elder!" Mu Ze saw Inkwest City’s murderous intent and wanted to save Pu Lizi, but the fury of a deity was not so easily quelled.
Seeing he could not rescue Pu Lizi from the waves, Mu Ze was anxious and, in desperation, turned to attack Inkwest City, hoping to force him to stop pursuing Pu Lizi.
Mu Ze’s action completely disheartened Inkwest City. He stood motionless, dumbfounded, gazing at Mu Ze approaching with weapon in hand.
Mu Ze assud that Inkwest City would defend against his attack, but he neither retracted his assault on Pu Lizi nor made any defense.
The sharp blade struck Inkwest City harshly, nearly severing his arm, causing crimson blood to pour forth swiftly. The black robe of Inkwest City didn’t show that terrifying red, but the blood soon ford a small river on the ground, attesting to the severity of his wound.
