Chapter 137: Chapter 137 The Matter is Over_1
Upon learning about what had transpired, Wu’s wife couldn’t help but scold Wu Cheng for his thoughtlessness. She was previously unaware of the fifty thousand yuan; Wu Cheng had only told her about the blue and white porcelain.
Although Wu’s wife was also heartbroken over the money, she persuaded Wu Cheng for their future safety. Now that the porcelain had been returned, the fifty thousand yuan should naturally follow suit. If he had returned the money sooner, perhaps they would have avoided so much trouble.
Under the relentless pressure from those n and his wife’s persuasion, Wu Cheng finally gave in. He gave eight thousand yuan to each of the five n, putting the matter to rest.
However, Wu Cheng and his wife ended up conflicting again after discussing further at night.
If the fifty thousand yuan originally belonged to Qin Sisi and had now been given to those n, how should he repay Qin Sisi? Surely he can’t bleed his own pockets?
Wu Cheng was depressed, saying that he was unwilling to spend any more money. Though he could afford to pay fifty thousand yuan, it was the last of his savings.
At the sa ti, Wu’s wife was also in a dilemma. From the perspective of familial safety, she naturally wanted to avoid disaster by spending, but after consecutive expenses which exhausted most of their savings, they had to plan for the future!
Unable to make a decision, the couple temporarily put the matter aside. But right afterward, an accident occurred forcing them to make a decision right away.
Ever since he started suffering from insomnia, Wu Cheng didn’t stay in his rented house. Every night, he drove ho for over an hour.
One day on his way ho, a black sedan rushed in from the opposite direction. It seed certain that they were due to collide, but Wu Cheng quickly swerved the steering wheel, and the two cars narrowly skated past each other.
Weakened, Wu Cheng slumped in the driver’s seat, panting heavily for a while before calming down. When he thought of what happened to his friends, his fear increased.
He had hardly arrived ho in a state of high stress when he found that his wife wasn’t at ho.
In normal circumstances, Wu Cheng would have considered it unremarkable, assuming his wife had just gone out for errands. But at this mont, he felt frantic and went out to search for her. Only to find out that the elevator in their building was malfunctioning, and his wife had been trapped for over two hours.
That night, the terrified and exhausted couple clung together, their hearts pounding from the fear of recent events, finally deciding to put an end to this matter once and for all.
The next day, Wu Cheng withdrew money from the bank, transferred it to a bank card that allowed mobile transfers, and returned the fifty thousand yuan to Qin Sisi using the card number she had given him.
At this point, Wu Cheng finally realized that he was unsuited to the antique market and decided to pursue other opportunities, so he sold his shop at a low price.
When she received the ssage from the bank, Qin Sisi was at Boss Zheng’s Ju Ya Zhai, having tea. This ti Ye You didn’t curl in Qin Sisi’s arms but instead sat alone on a chair.
Upon reading the text ssage, a faint smile appeared on Qin Sisi’s face. She looked up at Boss Zheng and said, "It’s done."
Boss Zheng exhaled lightly, his expression quite pleased. He smiled and said, "Well, that’s done then – saving
a lot of trouble. I was actually planning to give you fifty thousand yuan after the sale of the blue and white porcelain!"
The relationship between Qin Sisi and Boss Zheng, friends regardless of age, had beco much more familiar these days, and even the gentle and noble Boss Zheng started making jokes.
The two exchanged a look and a smile, both obviously pleased with this rather positive outco.
Boss Zheng was curious about how Qin Sisi had handled the matter, but noticing her reluctance to speak, he didn’t press for further details.
Qin Sisi gazed at Ye You, who had been dashing around these past days, with an expression of affection. Turning to Boss Zheng, she said, "To prevent future issues, maybe we shouldn’t sell that piece of blue and white porcelain at Ju Ya Zhai?"
Boss Zheng nodded and answered, "I was careless this ti. Rest assured, I have entrusted colleagues from out of town to find a buyer."
"That’s good." Qin Sisi crisply replied, then offered a tea cake to Ye You.
Having watched Qin Sisi dote on this cat these past days, Boss Zheng was no longer surprised.
As Boss Zheng watched Qin Sisi and Ye You’s intimate interactions with a gentle smile, Ye You slightly lifted his eyes, his sharp deep gaze sweeping over Boss Zheng’s face.
Boss Zheng was taken aback. It’s just a cat, yet why did its eyes seem to convey human emotion? Could this cat have so sort of psychic abilities, or be connected to the mysterious person supporting Qin Sisi?
Boss Zheng pondered for a mont before saying to Qin Sisi, "Sisi, I would love to et the wise person guiding you from behind the scenes, to thank them properly."
Qin Sisi paused, and apologetically responded, "Boss Zheng, I’m sorry, that person prefers peace and doesn’t want to reveal their identity."
Having spent many years in the antique industry, Boss Zheng, now of an age where he knew his destiny, was naturally aware that there existed reclusive wise n in this world who preferred not to reveal their whereabouts.
Seeing Qin Sisi speak so, Boss Zheng didn’t insist. He gracefully responded, "In that case, I won’t impose. If there’s ever anything I can assist with, just let
know."
Qin Sisi gave a graceful smile: "Then I thank you in advance, Boss Zheng."
After chatting casually for a bit, Qin Sisi got up to leave.
Upon leaving Ju Ya Zhai, Qin Sisi, carrying Ye You, walked towards the exit of the antique market with a spring in her step. After a few steps, as if she rembered sothing, she paused.
"What’s up?" Ye You asked.
Qin Sisi looked around and then whispered, "I just rembered, I never paid for this mahogany bracelet. We don’t have anything else to do today; let’s take care of that."
Ye You frowned internally, Qin Sisi seed to have a good mory, persistently rembering that matter.
"How about it?" Seeing Ye You silent, Qin Sisi asked again.
Ye You calmly replied, "If you want to go, then go. But how do you plan to explain to the shopkeeper?"
Qin Sisi hesitated, stamring, "Just say, my cat stole a bracelet from your store over two months ago..."
The mont the sentence left her mouth, even Qin Sisi herself couldn’t help but smile. A cat stealing a bracelet? And then telling its owner where it had stolen it from? This sounded implausible, like nobody would believe her. She would probably be laughed at as a fool!
Qin Sisi could already imagine the odd looks she would receive from people upon uttering those words.
Qin Sisi tilted her head and thought for a while but couldn’t co up with a good solution and could only sigh. Turning to Ye You she asked, "Do you have any good suggestions?"
Ye You suggested, "My suggestion is not to ntion the past. Go directly to his shop and buy sothing, without bargaining, treat it as compensation."
After considering Ye You’s recomndation, she decided to go with it, apparently, it was the best solution.
Hence, following the address given by Ye You, Qin Sisi arrived at an antique shop nad "Ximbao Pavilion".
