Chapter 1343: Chapter 1343: Plant Elf

The patience of Zi Yu finally snapped at the Dark Witch’s words. His pale face turned bright red, and he shouted at the Dark Witch, "Ling Wu is not a monster, she is an elf! Isn’t it enough that you hard her like that? You still insult her. Do you want

to beco like her for you to be satisfied?"

The Dark Witch stared blankly at her child, hardly believing her eyes.

Her child was the most obedient and sensible child in the world. She had never thought that one day he would speak to her in this tone.

Long, long ago, after living in the Dark Forest for thousands of years, the Dark Witch felt increasingly lonely. She longed for a child to accompany her.

Her true form was a giant tree with roots that stretched for thousands of miles, its crown capable of blotting out the sky.

To have a child, she cut down her entire canopy, channeling all the energy and Spiritual Power her true form could absorb into a single, mystical vessel.

After thousands of years of nurturing, the energy and Spiritual Power within the vessel finally reached the required level. She then guided it with the life force of plants, forming a tiny embryo.

After centuries of ticulous care and cultivation, a young, beautiful life was finally born.

Ecstatic, the Dark Witch nad the child "Zi Yu," hoping he would grow like her, into a towering tree, full of vitality, resilience, and self-reliance.

Zi Yu was indeed a good child. His childhood with the Dark Witch in the Giant Wood Castle was filled with joyful and happy tis.

The loneliness in the Dark Witch’s heart was finally filled with the warmth and sweetness of family. Her once cold, stone-like face often wore a happy smile.

She thought such days would continue forever, never changing, just the two of them, peaceful and warm, how wonderful.

But nothing in this world remains unchanged forever. Tranquil tis and a stable world are destined to be only a segnt.

As ti went by, Zi Yu grew older and no longer contented with living in the cramped castle. Like all growing children, he wished to play freely outside, eager to see different sceneries, and full of curiosity about the world outside.

The Dark Witch did not like Zi Yu’s yearning for the outside world, but she couldn’t bear to break his heart. She cut down the trees near the Giant Wood Castle, creating this beautiful and pleasant adow.

She would play gas with Zi Yu on this adow, telling him that the outside world was dangerous, restricting his movent to this adow, and if he had to go out, it must be with her company.

At first, Zi Yu was satisfied with this adow and promised his mother not to run outside. However, as he grew older, his longing for the outside world grew stronger.

So, taking advantage of the Dark Witch’s absence when she went to gather herbs, he would sneak into the forest to play, but never dared to go too far. He would return ho early, estimating when his mother would return, pretending he had never left.

After spending more ti outside, Zi Yu finally made his first friend, Ling Wu, a beautiful and adorable Plant Elf.

Back then, they were not yet adults. After getting acquainted at first sight, Zi Yu often went to find Ling Wu to play whenever the Dark Witch went out, and through Ling Wu, he t many friends from the Elf Clan.

As ti passed day by day, Zi Yu and Ling Wu grew up together, their close friendship gradually transforming into a pure and sweet love.

People in love often have their heads in the clouds, and Zi Yu was no exception.

After confessing their feelings to each other, he fell hopelessly in love. Whenever the Dark Witch went out, he would imdiately go to et Ling Wu. Their ti together was sweet but brief, and he wished he could be with Ling Wu all the ti but did not dare to disobey his mother’s orders.

For the Dark Witch had said before that they, mother and son, would live in the Giant Wood Castle for the rest of their lives and never go elsewhere.

When love reached its peak, Zi Yu began to think about discussing this matter with his mother, but she discovered it beforehand.

No one else could be blad for this. As Zi Yu tasted the sweetness of love for the first ti, even when staying with the Dark Witch in the Giant Wood Castle, he would often drift off in a daze, smiling foolishly out the window. This unusual behavior aroused the Dark Witch’s suspicion.

So once, she pretended to go out and hid in the forest.

Indeed, Zi Yu quickly left the Giant Wood Castle, hurrying toward the place where he often t Ling Wu, unaware that his mother was following him.

Then, the Dark Witch saw her pure and lovely son embracing and kissing a Plant Elf, sharing their thoughts passionately and unwilling to part.

She was extrely angry and heartbroken.

Zi Yu was the crystallization of her thousands of years of effort, her only relative in this world. She could not allow others to share his affections; she only wanted them, mother and son, to live happily and peacefully together forever.

The Dark Witch suddenly appeared before the young couple, and Zi Yu was startled, looking at his mother in panic, trying to explain the situation.

But the Dark Witch didn’t listen at all. She grabbed Zi Yu and took him back, warning Ling Wu not to seduce her son again.

Back at the Giant Wood Castle, the Dark Witch scolded Zi Yu harshly, narrating her sacrifices for him over the millennia, her voice full of emotion, tearing her heart to pieces.

Zi Yu felt guilty towards his mother but was more concerned and worried about Ling Wu. He was grateful for his mother’s past sacrifices but also felt so annoyance at her relentless recounting.

The Dark Witch demanded that Zi Yu swear never to leave the Giant Wood Castle again and never see Ling Wu again.

Zi Yu refused and resisted her silently.

So the Dark Witch resorted to the simplest and most brutal tactic: a threat. If Zi Yu dared to see Ling Wu again, she would kill Ling Wu.

This tactic worked. Zi Yu still feared his mother sowhat. No matter how much he missed, he restrained himself, not daring to sneak out to et Ling Wu again.

Just as the Dark Witch thought things would gradually settle, Ling Wu ca on her own.

The mont Zi Yu saw Ling Wu, the suppression and helplessness he had felt during this ti could no longer be contained. He hugged Ling Wu and wept.

Ling Wu gently comforted Zi Yu. Facing the fierce Dark Witch, she showed no fear. Instead, she righteously pointed out the Dark Witch’s mistake, believing that she should not overly interfere with her son’s feelings and life.

Zi Yu was terrified, quickly covering Ling Wu’s mouth, pleading with her not to speak further, attempting to take her away.

But it was too late. Ling Wu’s words and actions had thoroughly enraged the Dark Witch. She decided to make this ignorant Plant Elf pay the price.
