Today’s performance of Qin Sisi was beyond Ning Hao’s expectations, despite not knowing her exact plans, he sensed things were not as simple.

After all the necessary words were said, they chatted casually for a bit, before saying goodbye to Boss Zheng and walked back to their residential area.

As they were heading towards the building where Qin Sisi lived, Ning Hao glanced at the cat that Qin Sisi had been tightly holding the whole day. He tentatively asked, "Do you take this cat everywhere you go?"

Qin Sisi laughed and replied, "Yes, it’s very clingy."

Ning Hao nodded, "Goodbye."

As Qin Sisi turned towards the entrance of the building, Ning Hao suddenly called her, "Qin Sisi."

Qin Sisi turned back in confusion.

Ning Hao locked onto Qin Sisi’s eyes, "The incident with Wang Ji’an... it’s related to you, isn’t it?"

Upon hearing the na she hadn’t heard for a long ti, Qin Sisi’s expression froze. She pressed her lips together and managed to say calmly, "I do not understand what you an."

Seeing Qin Sisi’s frightened expression, Ning Hao softened his voice, "Can you tell

the reason?"

"What?" Qin Sisi was bewildered as she looked at Ning Hao in confusion.

Ning Hao said softly, "I don’t believe you would hurt soone without reason; you must have your rationale. Can you tell ?"

Qin Sisi closed her eyes in agony. Even though the incident involving Wang Ji’an was thwarted by Ye You that night, every ti she recalled it, the degrading humiliation made her feel a cutting deep pain.

Seeing Qin Sisi’s expression, Ning Hao felt a sense of guilt. He was torn and couldn’t ask further.

After a while, Qin Sisi opened her eyes. Her expression was calm, and her gaze at Ning Hao was cold, no longer the previous warmth.

Ning Hao felt a stinging pain in his heart that was beyond words.

Qin Sisi spoke in a cold and clear voice, "Because he tried to assault ."

"You’re smart." Ye You stared at Ning Hao’s retreating figure and comnted coldly.

Qin Sisi hugged Ye You tighter and rested her cheek against his soft body. Her voice trembled slightly, "I was so scared."

Ye You wrapped his paws around Qin Sisi’s neck and whispered comfortingly, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here. Let’s go ho."

Qin Sisi nodded, held Ye You tightly, and walked towards her block with shaky steps.

Once ho, Qin Sisi still seed unsettled, and looked troubled.

Ye You nestled next to her and said, "He said it himself: he didn’t ask anything, and you didn’t say anything. You don’t need to worry."

While the uncertainty in Qin Sisi’s heart was far from gone, she expressed her worry, "But he’s a police officer. If he continues to investigate that incident..."

"Then I’ll make sure he’ll never speak again." Ye You’s voice was filled with a chilling threat.

Qin Sisi was startled and quickly said, "Xiao Hei..."

Ye You covered Qin Sisi’s hand with his paw and said softly, "That’s the worst-case scenario. It hasn’t co to that yet."
