Chapter 1108: Chapter 1108: Brushing Past Each Other

At that ti, Ye You, Yun Wang, and Qing Xun were drinking tea in a secluded little teahouse. They had all disguised themselves, making it impossible for strangers to recognize them.

After arriving in Midair City, Qing Xun had gone to the Chief Mansion’s gate several tis requesting to et Jiu Ge, but each ti Jiu Ge refused, citing that he had no ti.

After repeated attempts, Ye You and the others were certain that Jiu Ge was deliberately avoiding them. He clearly didn’t want to involve himself in the matter of his mother preparing to marry Tian Xiaozi.

Ye You had grown impatient. He had once considered sneaking into the Chief Mansion to investigate, but Qing Xun stopped him.

Ye You and Qing Xun were now Low-level Magic Gods, while Yun Wang was a High-level Magic Spirit—by no ans weak.

However, the Changkong family’s Clan Leader, i Ji, was at the High-level Magic God rank, and she was accompanied by four grand elders. It was said the grand elder was also a Magic God, while the other three elders were of Magic Spirit rank.

Adding Jiu Ge to the equation, the other side would have three Magic Gods, and they were extrely familiar with the surrounding environnt.

If Ye You and the others recklessly barged in, they might alert the enemy and face difficulty retreating unscathed.

In Qing Xun’s view, Ye You bore heavy responsibility and had to exercise utmost caution; there could be no room for mistakes.

Ye You understood these principles deeply. Yet, he could not afford to wait any longer. He knew full well that the union between Tian Xiaozi and the Changkong family must never be allowed to succeed. If this precedent was set, the Eight Great Families would only grow more unstable.

The first traitor successfully altering allegiances would undoubtedly lead to the ergence of a second, then a third... The situation would beco increasingly uncontrollable.

At the teahouse, they were softly discussing whether to try finding another way to et Jiu Ge or to temporarily leave Midair City and plan anew.

When news spread that Jiu Ge had caused a commotion at the Forgemaster Guild, the three of them imdiately rose to their feet and hurried toward the guild.

Flying in broad daylight would draw too much attention, and they weren’t ready to reveal their identities, so they refrained from using magic wings.

When they arrived at the Forgemaster Guild, they saw Jiu Ge dressed in red, riding the wind away from the sky above. Behind him was a palanquin driven by four Blood Eagles, followed by dozens of guards.

Ye You’s eyes sharpened, and without hesitation, he unleashed his magical power to manifest translucent magic wings behind him, pursuing Jiu Ge’s departing figure.

Yun Wang and Qing Xun exchanged a glance and, likewise, used their magic to conjure wings and followed closely behind Ye You.

Jiu Ge quickly noticed the three figures chasing him relentlessly. His expression darkened. Though their appearances were unfamiliar, their ability to summon magic wings and their astonishing speed made their identities unmistakable.

Jiu Ge glanced uneasily at the palanquin beneath the Blood Eagles before placing two fingers into his mouth and blowing a loud whistle. He then sped up, heading toward the Chief Mansion.

He had no intention of confronting Ye You and the others directly; he rely wanted to steer clear of the matter and feign ignorance.

The four Blood Eagles, hearing Jiu Ge’s whistle, imdiately flapped their enormous wings with force, significantly accelerating their flight and staying close behind Jiu Ge.

Li Li picked up on the tension and ordered the surrounding guards to advance at full speed.

One major advantage of Wind Magic was its ability to make one’s movents agile and swift. The group resembled a sharp response team of battle eagles, speeding through the ominously overcast skies.

Qin Sisi was still immobile; otherwise, she would have been able to reunite with Ye You. All she could do now was feel the increased velocity of the flight without seeing Ye You chasing from behind.

Ye You stared at the palanquin carried by the Blood Eagles and was struck by a peculiar sensation in his heart. Yet, given the urgency of the mont, he didn’t have ti to ponder its aning and could only focus on relentlessly chasing Jiu Ge.

He needed to confirm Jiu Ge’s stance personally before deciding on the next steps for his plan.

Jiu Ge and the Blood Eagles moved quickly, but even with Li Li and the guards employing Wind Magic, they could not outpace Ye You.

Ye You’s expression was steadfast—his lips pressed tightly together, his eyes calm. Magic power surged within him as he flew, though he displayed no hint of panic. The distance between him and Li Li’s group was closing rapidly.

Just as Ye You was about to catch up with them, they reached the Chief Mansion. Jiu Ge, the Blood Eagles with the palanquin, and Li Li with the guards all stread inside at astonishing speed and in perfect order.

When the last person entered the Chief Mansion, the gates slamd shut—at the very mont Ye You was about to charge through, leaving him blocked outside by a re breath’s difference.

A painful near-miss, Ye You furrowed his brows and clenched his fists in frustration.

After hesitating briefly, he attempted to release a thread of magical power to attack the gate. The magic struck the door, but no sound was heard; it was as if it had vanished into thin air.

Ye You realized there must be a formidable Defensive Array here or a powerful protective Magic Artifact stationed.

As he searched for a weak spot, countless fire-lit arrows shot toward him. Narrowing his eyes, Ye You swiftly maneuvered away, escaping the range of the arrows.

The attack wasn’t overly fierce, and Ye You easily evaded it, yet his expression did not show any relief. Perhaps this attack was rely a warning.

Every Chief Mansion of the Eight Great Families was fortified with powerful Defensive Arrays and Magic Artifacts; the higher-level arrays often possessed attack capabilities.

Midair City, being one of the Eight Great Families in the Demon Sacred Realm, undoubtedly had the resources to set up a high-level Defensive Array.

Forced entry was clearly not an option.

At this point, Qing Xun and Yun Wang had arrived one after the other.

Within the mansion were i Ji, whose rebellious intentions were certain, and Jiu Ge, whose attitude remained unclear. Yet, they could not penetrate the thin wooden doors to seek them out.

Despite Ye You’s unwillingness to accept this, he had no choice but to retreat for now and craft a new plan.

Night fell, but Ye You tossed and turned, unable to sleep. i Ji’s actions were unequivocally rebellious, and Jiu Ge deliberately avoided eting them. The ruling faction of the Changkong family was clearly neither worth nor possible to rescue or recruit. The only viable approach now was to take hardline asures—striking decisively to warn others.

Additionally, when he thought about the palanquin beneath the Blood Eagles he saw earlier, Ye You felt a faint unease, his mind inexplicably drifting to Qin Sisi.

However, he reasoned it couldn’t be related to Qin Sisi. She was currently thousands of miles away at the Taiyi Mountain Base, under the protection of the Panhu family, and theoretically shouldn’t be in danger.

After Qin Sisi was brought back to the Changkong family’s Chief Mansion, Jiu Ge gave her an antidote to counter the effects of the Goujin Vine.

Though Jiu Ge had indeed presented her with a grand gesture, avenging her grievances, Qin Sisi was still upset with him for rendering her immobile and speechless. As soon as her body recovered, she turned to leave without acknowledging Jiu Ge.
