Chapter 1104: Chapter 1104: Learning the Piano with 9 Songs
Qin Sisi nodded. She had always been quite interested in musical instrunts, and upon hearing that Jiu Ge also played the Half Moon zither, she naturally wanted to take a look.
She followed Jiu Ge into his room, and to her surprise, the room Jiu Ge currently occupied was quite ordinary, not very large. Aside from the bed that was fairly bright and luxurious, the rest of the items were all in dark tones.
Moreover, the room didn’t have as many decorations as Qin Sisi’s. Besides two large vases, there was only a table and a chair, both made of black sandalwood, with a simple and elegant design.
On the table lay a Half Moon zither. Qin Sisi walked over, picked it up, gauged its weight, and plucked the strings to test the feel.
She quickly realized that this Half Moon zither was worlds apart from hers. If this zither were a beautiful jade, then hers was just an ordinary stone.
Moreover, her own Half Moon zither hadn’t been tested for its star level by the Forgemasters’ Guild. Jiu Ge’s zither had already been tested, and on the headstock, there was a crescent moon and a star pattern, indicating its six-star level.
Qin Sisi’s eyes shined brightly as she sincerely said to Jiu Ge, "Your zither is excellent; make sure to practice well and not disappoint the instrunt."
Jiu Ge grinned and said, "Of course it’s excellent. The wood I used cos from the thousand-year-old Snow Pine Wood atop Yuding Snow Mountain, and the strings are made from Ten-thousand-year Immortal Gold Thread from the sea depths."
Qin Sisi was secretly impressed; such extravagance, he was certainly willful with wealth!
Jiu Ge continued mysteriously, "Guess who the Forgemaster who crafted it is?"
Qin Sisi paused, realizing that if Jiu Ge asked in such a manner, the Forgemaster must be soone she knew. Given the high star level of this Half Moon zither, the Forgemaster must be of a master level as well.
She only had passing acquaintances with a few high-level Forgemasters from the Scholar City Forgemasters’ Guild. The ones she was more familiar with were Teacher Wuduo and Master Shuoyu.
Teacher Wuduo is a fifth-level Forgemaster, and Master Shuoyu is a sixth-level Forgemaster. The answer was apparent.
Moreover, seeing Jiu Ge’s proud expression, there was a ninety percent chance that the Forgemaster was the number one in the Demon Sacred Realm.
So Qin Sisi said, "I guess it’s Master Shuoyu."
"Wow, how are you so clever!" Jiu Ge’s tone was as if lanting but his face was all smiles.
Then Jiu Ge pulled Qin Sisi over to give him a music lesson. Qin Sisi, originally interested in music, was attracted by Jiu Ge’s top-rate Half Moon zither and readily agreed.
The two sat cross-legged on the floor in the room. Qin Sisi let Jiu Ge play once more, then attentively pointed out issues with his playing technique and lody.
Jiu Ge kept nodding in agreent, yet when he played again, he still stumbled, not correcting his previous mistakes.
Qin Sisi frowned and reminded him. Jiu Ge touched his nose and said righteously, "Maybe I’m just too untalented. You can’t rush, a teacher has to have patience."
Qin Sisi was speechless and could only continue patiently instructing him.
Li Li had long withdrawn, quietly standing guard outside the door. She knew this must be a precious ti for Jiu Ge, so she could only try her best to ensure they weren’t disturbed.
Qin Sisi asked about the na of the Half Moon zither. Jiu Ge smiled and said, "I just thought of one, tell
if you like it. Since it’s made of Immortal Gold Thread and Snow Pine Wood, why not call it Fairy Snow, what do you think?"
Jiu Ge’s tone was casual, but this na truly stunned Qin Sisi.
Fairy Snow, as ethereal as a fairy, as tranquil as snow.
Qin Sisi nodded, "Very beautiful, a fitting na for the zither."
Being praised by Qin Sisi, Jiu Ge laughed like a sly fox.
Qin Sisi looked up at the window, suddenly realizing how late it was; she hadn’t noticed how much ti had passed.
She stood up to bid Jiu Ge goodbye, but Jiu Ge, reluctant to let her go, urged, "Why rush? Moonlit nights, playing the zither, wouldn’t that be one of life’s great pleasures?"
Qin Sisi laughed, "Why do you suddenly sound so poetic?"
Jiu Ge coughed twice and replied, "Didn’t I say? I’m cultivating my character and mind."
Qin Sisi shook her head slightly and said, "Another day perhaps; it’s too late, I need to go back and rest."
In truth, she wasn’t tired but felt that being alone with Jiu Ge in the late night for too long was inappropriate.
Seeing Qin Sisi’s determination, Jiu Ge didn’t insist on keeping her and nodded, "Alright, I’ll walk you back."
He turned around first, walked to the door, and opened it.
Li Li was standing outside. Seeing them exit, she silently took a step back and lowered her head slightly.
When Qin Sisi reached the doorway, she glanced deeply at Li Li. Li Li kept her head down, expressionless. Qin Sisi wanted to greet her but decided against it and left directly.
Jiu Ge didn’t speak, just gestured with a "please," and they walked side by side towards the neighboring courtyard.
Both of them were very quiet. Qin Sisi then rembered the real reason she ca to see Jiu Ge and said gently, "Actually, I ca here today specifically to thank you."
"Thank ? Thank
for what?" Jiu Ge didn’t seem to catch on.
Qin Sisi had to say, "Thank you for saving
in the cell, otherwise I might have... been beaten to death by Elderly Fourth."
She initially wanted to say she might have been beheaded and bled, but thinking of i Ji as Jiu Ge’s mother, she swallowed those words back.
"Oh, that," Jiu Ge said casually, "You should thank Li Li for that, she ran into Elderly Fourth on the way and saw the storage ring on your hand."
Qin Sisi suddenly realized, instinctively raising her right hand to look at her storage ring, which Ye You had given her, embedded with a black cat design.
She and Li Li had been classmates for three years, so it was no surprise Li Li could recognize her accessory.
Jiu Ge’s gaze also fell on Qin Sisi’s storage ring. Seeing that small black cat, his eyes dimd slightly.
That storage ring was a gift from Ye You. Ye You had been a cat for a year and gained a girl’s devotion to life and death; he certainly had a significant gain.
As they spoke, they arrived at Qin Sisi’s room door. Qin Sisi stopped, turned to Ye You, and said, "I’m here, you can go back now!"
Jiu Ge stood still, raised an eyebrow, and said, "I took so much of your ti teaching
how to play; I can’t let you work hard for nothing. Tomorrow, I’ll give you a big present."
"What’s the big present?" Qin Sisi asked, curious.
Jiu Ge curved his lips into a smile and said mysteriously, "It’s a secret for now; you’ll find out tomorrow."
Having said that, before Qin Sisi could say anything else, he turned and quickly walked towards the distance, soon disappearing into the deep night.
