Chapter 1092: Chapter 1092: The Fat and Thin Goalkeepers

Qin Sisi raised her head to look at the Forging Master Guild above, silently marveling at the wonders of Midair City.

As one of the most majestic structures, the Forging Master Guild was also suspended in midair. Although its height was not as impressive as the Chief Mansion, among the many buildings, it was already considered to occupy one of the higher positions.

On her way, she bought so food and daily necessities to prepare for contingencies and chatted briefly with an elderly shopkeeper. When she expressed her amazent at the floating buildings with an admiring tone, the old man proudly began to explain.

The western side of Midair City was the westernmost edge of the Demon Sacred Realm’s Mountain of No Regrets, and further west lay one of the Four Forbidden Zones—the Deep Pupil Desert. Right across from Midair City was a massive gap through which violent winds from the Deep Pupil Desert roared into the city.

The rulers of Midair City, the Changkong family, possessed intrinsic wind attributes. Harnessing the winds from the west, they used their mastery over Wind Spirit Power to set up an enormous formation within the city, altering the direction and nature of the powerful winds.

The wind was transford into lifting force, causing the buildings in Midair City to float in midair, suspended between the ground and the skies.

The Changkong family could further control this, allowing so buildings to receive weaker wind currents, while others received stronger ones. The height at which buildings floated to a certain extent symbolized the status of their owners within Midair City.

Those who had not activated the Magic Source or mastered a practical life skill had no choice but to live on the sandy ground below.

After being converted into lifting force, the intensity of the wind was greatly reduced, though near the ground, the gusts could still be felt—not too strong, but not weak either.

Walking along the sandy ground, Qin Sisi’s shoes and the hem of her dress were already covered in a layer of yellow dust. Only then did she notice that the won in Midair City typically wore shorter skirts, often knee-length, paired with form-fitting trousers resembling tights. Likely, this attire was designed for ease of movent and to avoid the skirts getting dirty.

An elderly woman nearby took the opportunity to offer Qin Sisi so of the clothes she was selling. The fabric was the simplest quality, but adapting to the local customs, Qin Sisi purchased two sets of the local outfits.

Each set included four items: a skirt, leggings, a headscarf, and a face veil. The elderly woman explained that during windy days, the headscarf and veil could be worn to protect the hair and skin.

Qin Sisi decided that once she settled in at the Forging Master Guild, she would find a place to wash up and change into one of these regionally distinctive outfits.

Now, she was finally standing beneath the Forging Master Guild. Seeing the structure’s design and height, it was evident that this building held significant status in Midair City. It seed that becoming a forging master had truly been the right decision.

Qin Sisi took a deep breath, released magic power to condense a pair of semi-transparent wings on her back, and flew into the air, arriving at the entrance of the Forging Master Guild.

The atmosphere was grand and solemn, with its tall, deep-red doors wide open, yet no guards were present.

Qin Sisi paused for a mont, then took a step forward and walked inside. Just as she entered, two young n—one fat, one thin—rushed out from the side and blocked her path, scrutinizing her from head to toe.

Seeing that Qin Sisi didn’t wear the Forgemaster’s dal on her chest and noticing her dirty clothes and shoes, the two gate guards revealed scornful expressions and sneered arrogantly, "What are you, and do you even know where this is?"

Qin Sisi blinked and countered with a question, "Isn’t this the Forging Master Guild?"

The fat guard planted his hands on his hips and said, "You know it’s the Forging Master Guild, yet you dare to break in. The Forging Master Guild is for forging masters only, got it?"

Qin Sisi nodded, "Got it."

With that, she sidestepped the guards and continued walking forward.

The two guards were stunned and quickly chased after her to block her path again. The thin guard, growing angrier, pointed a finger at Qin Sisi and yelled, "Do you not understand human language? I said only forging masters are allowed inside. If you dare take another step forward, don’t bla us for being rude!"

Qin Sisi frowned slightly. She knew that showing them the Forgemaster’s dal might allow her smooth access, but the arrogant attitude of the two gatekeepers had irked her. If they had initially asked whether she was a forging master, she certainly would have politely presented the dal.

But instead, these two had made assumptions based on her appearance, shouting rudely with no inquiry whatsoever. From their ranks, it was obvious they were re magicians—hardly deserving of such arrogance.

The fat guard waved impatiently, urging, "Alright, alright, hurry up and leave. If the manager cos, you won’t be able to leave even if you want to."

Qin Sisi smiled faintly, "That’s perfect, since I’m here to see the manager anyway."

With that, she ignored the two guards’ obstruction and walked straight inside.

The two guards were thoroughly enraged. They exchanged sharp looks and simultaneously unleashed their magic, attacking Qin Sisi from both sides—the fat guard using fire magic, and the thin guard wielding golden magic.

A blaze of red and black magic energy waves surged toward Qin Sisi, yet she still walked forward unhurriedly, as though completely oblivious. The guards’ faces lit up with smug smiles.

Just as the magic waves were about to strike Qin Sisi, her body spun lightly. She released a thread of wind attribute magic power from her palms, subtly shifting the direction of the magic waves.

Wind attribute magic power boasts a significant propelling effect, allowing the user to alter the trajectory of an opponent’s magic energy waves to so extent. However, this is most effective when the user’s power far exceeds the opponent’s.

If the power difference is minimal, wind attribute magic power might fail to redirect the opponent’s magic skill, and without tily alternative asures, the user could end up injured.

Qin Sisi was confident that the two gate guards were far weaker than her, which is why she dared to use this tactic.

The two magic waves scraped closely past Qin Sisi’s body and continued roaring forward.

Since the guards were positioned to Qin Sisi’s left and right, the fat guard’s fire magic surged toward the thin guard, and the thin guard’s golden magic collided with the fat guard.

Although they were associated with the Forging Master Guild, they were essentially just gatekeepers with hardly any practical combat experience.

Seeing Qin Sisi’s plain attire, they had dismissed her as irrelevant, failing to realize her strength vastly surpassed theirs.

By the ti they noticed the magic waves barreling toward them and realized they should defend or dodge, it was already too late.
