Chapter 1089: Chapter 1089 Flower Thief
Qin Sisi also had a talent for music. Under Ah Xia’s ticulous guidance, she quickly mastered the tunes and lodies. However, her comprehension of the pieces was not as profound as Ah Xia’s, so her playing always lacked a bit of its soul.
As the composer, it was only natural for Ah Xia to have a deeper understanding of the music than she did. Qin Sisi knew she couldn’t be impatient and could only accumulate and comprehend gradually through life experiences.
It was already past midnight. Except for the guards keeping watch, the other mbers of the caravan were already asleep. Qin Sisi put away the Half Moon zither and bid farewell to Ah Xia.
Ah Xia was reluctant to part with her but understood that it was indeed ti to rest in the deep of the night. Moreover, staying together alone for too long wouldn’t be good for Master Fairy’s reputation.
The two exchanged goodnight wishes. Qin Sisi turned and walked to her own carriage as Ah Xia watched her leave. He gazed at her figure until it disappeared behind the curtain of the carriage.
Just as Qin Sisi sat down, she suddenly heard a low cry from outside, followed by the faint sound of wind, as if soone had left in a hurry.
She hesitated briefly, then leaped off the carriage, looking in the direction where the sound had co from. Sure enough, Ah Xia was no longer there.
"Ah Xia!" Qin Sisi ran over, scanning her surroundings while calling out his na.
The guards keeping watch heard her shouts and ran over. So of the others in the caravan were also woken up. Hearing that Ah Xia had suddenly disappeared, everyone grew worried. They searched through the caravan but couldn’t find any trace of him.
Yu Miao was anxious. With the caravan scheduled to enter the city the next day, this disruption was giving him a major headache.
Bu Lang suggested that those among them who had activated the Magic Source could go farther out to search. Qin Sisi thought for a mont and then said, "No, the caravan still needs protection. We’re so close to the city, and everyone has worked hard to get here. The goods must absolutely not be lost. You all stay here, and I’ll go find Ah Xia."
Yu Miao, concerned about the potential loss to the caravan, agreed with Qin Sisi’s suggestion and instructed everyone to stay vigilant and safeguard the goods on the carriages.
Qin Sisi released her magic power, summoning a pair of translucent wings on her back. Recalling Ah Xia’s last shout, she picked a direction and flew off in pursuit.
She and Ah Xia had practiced music together for a long ti and hadn’t noticed anyone nearby. If Ah Xia had been attacked, it was impossible for soone to abduct him in such a short ti.
It was more likely that Ah Xia had gone off on his own, perhaps seeing sothing and setting out to take action.
The long night limited her vision to only her imdiate surroundings. At this mont, Qin Sisi wished she had eyes like Ye You, a nose like Yun Wang, or perhaps even Jiu Ge’s ears wouldn’t be bad.
But she knew these were just idle wishes. Right now, all she could do was give it her all to search.
After pursuing for over ten miles, Qin Sisi finally heard sounds of combat. Her spirits lifted as she rushed toward the noise, arriving at a rather brutal scene.
To be precise, it was Ah Xia who was being beaten rather badly.
The opponent was a man in black, wielding an Iron Ring Machete in his right hand that jingled as he moved. Green magic energy swirled around the blade as it slashed relentlessly at Ah Xia.
Ah Xia’s movents were still relatively agile; he dodged left and right, avoiding many attacks. The Ice Bone double sticks in his hands blocked nurous strikes, but the opponent was a Magic Master. The power disparity between them was vast. Ah Xia could only barely fend off the attacks, occasionally taking strikes that had already left him covered in wounds.
In truth, this battle shouldn’t have lasted so long. The issue was that the man in black had a large black sack slung over his left shoulder. He had to keep one hand free to hold the sack steady, restricting both his movents and the release of his magic power, which was the only reason Ah Xia hadn’t been killed yet.
Qin Sisi narrowed her eyes and examined the black sack. Its shape was long and rectangular, with a pair of bare feet sticking out of the bottom. Judging by the size and shape, it seed to belong to a woman.
Understanding flickered in Qin Sisi’s mind regarding Ah Xia’s sudden disappearance. Ah Xia, who had shown compassion by helping her when she was severely injured and unconscious, was clearly a kind-hearted person. Seeing a woman being abducted and stepping in to help would be typical of him.
Qin Sisi wanted to assist but worried that using magic skills from a distance might accidentally harm the woman on the man in black’s shoulder. After a mont of thought, she activated her Earth Attribute magic power and used the Earth Escape Skill to burrow underground, closing in on the man in black and Ah Xia.
Erging halfway out of the ground behind the man in black, Qin Sisi swung the Moon Spirit Golden Feather in a flash. With a single strike of the Vigor Gold Knife, she severed the man’s legs at the knees.
Focused entirely on Ah Xia, the man in black hadn’t expected Qin Sisi’s attack at all. Moreover, Magic Masters and Magic Spirits were on entirely different levels to begin with. Screaming in agony, the man collapsed to the ground.
Qin Sisi leaped out of the ground, seizing the large black sack from his shoulder. Spinning around, the Moon Spirit Golden Feather slashed again, cleaving from his right shoulder diagonally to his left waist. The man in black was dead before he could even see who had attacked him.
"Ah Xia, are you alright?" Qin Sisi carried the woman in the black sack over to Ah Xia.
Ah Xia forced a smile through his pain and replied, "I’m fine. Thank you, Master Fairy, for saving ."
Placing the woman on the ground, Qin Sisi handed Ah Xia a Bodhi Pill. After a mont, Ah Xia’s wounds were nearly healed under the pill’s effects. The two then returned to the caravan camp with the unconscious woman.
Yu Miao, with his extensive experience, inspected the woman after untying the black sack and determined that she was rely drugged and would wake up after so ti.
Hearing this, Qin Sisi was relieved. Since the woman would recover on her own, there was no need to waste additional dicinal pills.
Ah Xia, visibly emotional, animatedly recounted to the others Qin Sisi’s heroic feat of slaying the flower thief.
After listening to the story, Yu Miao frowned slightly and said to Qin Sisi, "You should have left him alive to find out what was going on. Now that he’s dead, we have no way of understanding the reasons and details of what happened."
Qin Sisi paused, realizing Yu Miao was right. She had acted impulsively. Upon seeing Ah Xia battered and near death, paired with the woman on the man’s shoulder, she had instinctively assud the man in black was a flower thief and killed him on the spot without further thought.
To be thorough, Yu Miao suggested that Qin Sisi take him to the scene to examine it. Qin Sisi, aware that while Yu Miao’s magic power wasn’t as strong as hers, his extensive experience and careful consideration outweighed hers, agreed without hesitation.
