Qin Nanyu raised an eyebrow, signaling with his eyes that he agreed.
Ji Weitian then lowered her head to fish out a check from her bag and handed it over to him.
Seeing the amount on the check, Qin Nanyu’s dark eyes flickered as he fixed his gaze on Ji Weitian.
With a crow’s-feet shaped smile, Ji Weitian teased, "Is it a lot of money? Do you know where this ca from? The project manager from Re Group gave it to ... Ah!"
Before Ji Weitian could finish her sentence, Qin Nanyu had snatched the check from her hand. She cried out in panic, trying to take it back, but Qin Nanyu restrained her wrist with one hand, his face darkened with a shadow.
His voice was sullen.
"Did you really sell for a high price?"
"Be careful not to tear the check," Ji Weitian urged anxiously.
Qin Nanyu didn’t care about the check, instead, he gripped her hand a bit tighter.

His ambiguous tone seed half serious, half joking.
Ji Weitian shot him a glance as if he were insane.
"People from Re Group wanted to use this money to bribe into stealing experintal data for them, why would you buy ? To argue with you and drive you to your death?"

Her logic was sound; he couldn’t refute it.
"Besides, this little money is not enough to buy ; at the very least it would have to... bankrupt you and co with a dowry!" After Ji Weitian finished, she turned her head, seeking her daughter’s agreent, but found that Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling had sohow crawled to the edge of the couch.
Reaching out her little paws, she sneakily unzipped the bag, took out the check, and laid it neatly inside her own little backpack.

Ji Weitian sat cross-legged on the couch, propping her head with one hand, and posed the question to the person beside her.
"Why would they try to bribe ? I’m just a contact person. Manager Zhao could have easily found out that I don’t have the clearance to enter the lab. There are better people for Re Group to bribe, so why co after ?"
Qin Nanyu quickly caught the key point in her words, his eyes suddenly turning icy.
"Unless they are targeting you specifically!"
The unspoken understanding also made him guess that Ji Weitian accepted the money to lure the snake out of its hole!
