Zhang Lingying was still a bit disoriented when she hung up the phone.

Leng Jian’s tone was sowhat anxious, as if he had sothing important to tell her.

Zhang Lingying could only tell him that she wasn’t at ho at the mont and would be back in approximately an hour.

Fortunately, Leng Jian didn’t press her about where she was, and just agreed to et at her house in an hour.

"Miss, are you looking for soone?"

At the entrance of the Re Group building, the security guard noticed the young girl who seed lost in thought for a long ti and couldn’t help but step forward to ask.

"..."

Zhang Lingying snapped back to reality, putting away her phone.

She looked up at the skyscraper in front of her, biting her lip in frustration.

Had she really lost her mind!

Just because soone saw Lu Jing at Jiangcheng University, she inexplicably ended up at Re Group.

She hadn’t expected that just as she arrived at Re Group, Leng Jian would call her.

The mont she saw the caller ID, she was so startled that she almost dropped her phone. Luckily, it turned out fine, and Leng Jian didn’t find out she ca to look for Lu Jing; he contacted her for sothing else.

But...

Having regained her senses, Zhang Lingying had lost the courage to enter Re Group.

"I’m just passing by, sorry."

Zhang Lingying offered an apologetic smile to the security guard and turned to leave.

But as she turned around, she failed to notice soone beside her and accidentally bumped her shoulder.

Both of them stopped in their tracks.

Instinctively, Zhang Lingying moved aside slightly, just about to apologize when the person she bumped into asked, "Are you alright?"

The familiar voice made her abruptly look up.

She blinked in surprise, seeing Lu Jing standing in front of her.

Lu Jing was also stunned.

Just asking out of courtesy, he figured that such a light bump wouldn’t cause an injury, especially since it was he who got bumped.

He hadn’t planned to pursue it further and was going to enter the company after confirming the person was okay.

Now seeing that it was Zhang Lingying who had bumped into him, and realizing where they were, his charming eyes flickered slightly.

"Are you here to see ?"

"No, I just happened to be passing by," Zhang Lingying quickly denied.

After saying that, she didn’t even glance at Lu Jing and was about to walk away.

"Sss—"

As she took a step, Lu Jing reached for his shoulder, taking a sharp intake of breath.

The sudden action successfully made Zhang Lingying stop.

"Are you alright?"

Zhang Lingying asked the sa question he just did.

Lu Jing’s gaze flickered slightly, struggling as he raised his shoulder, his face turning pale imdiately.

Yet his words were exceptionally calm.

"I’m fine, you can go."

Zhang Lingying: "..."

"Do you need to take you to the hospital?"

Since she was the one who bumped into him, Zhang Lingying asked patiently despite his indifferent attitude, showing a bit of maturity.

"Didn’t you want to avoid and keep your distance?" Lu Jing retorted.

The sour tone resembled a child sulking for not getting any candy.

Zhang Lingying considered herself mature and wouldn’t argue with a child, plus she was indeed at fault for bumping into him.

So, she answered all his questions.

"You were hurt because of ; I have the responsibility to take you to the hospital."

"Is it just because of that?" Lu Jing’s eyes narrowed slightly, the light in them turning radiant and inexplicably tinged with anger.

That made Zhang Lingying, who was about to nod, hesitate.

Before she could respond, he said coldly.

"The doctor can treat the injury on my shoulder, but can you return the heart I left with you?"
