For several days in a row, the weather hasn’t been great, and her leg hasn’t been doing well either.

The air is filled with moist moisture.

At night, her leg feels especially uncomfortable, even turning over could graze it, and not turning over feels numb.

Fortunately, Zane gets up occasionally to adjust her leg, using sothing to prop it up, otherwise, in her drowsiness, turning over could definitely cause the skin to break.

Bathing is another hassle; she has to wrap half her leg in a bag to shower, otherwise getting it wet would cause more trouble with the wounds.

She hasn’t gone out for a few days, but now her leg is slowly getting better, and the scabs are forming quickly.

Coincidentally, the weather is improving today, and the hot sumr is about to arrive.

She’s getting restless and decides to take a trip to the studio.

Eve ca to pick her up.

Along the way, she reported so recent renovation progress at the studio and so issues with clothing customization.

"Mr. Ellison ca by a few days ago, just for a short while," Eve said.

"What was he here for?"

Sophia thought of the ointnt he had rushed over the other day, and although Zane didn’t get angry, he beca extrely clingy afterward.

During als, he stuck to her, feeding her himself; even waiting outside the bathroom and lying on her uninjured leg while reading.

Except for work, he practically epitomized the phrase "inseparable."

"I heard he was just passing by, dropped in to have a look, sotis even bringing us so milk tea."

"Uh..." Sophia tugged at her lips and smiled, "He sure knows how to ’pass by’."

His place to his company was indeed sowhat on the way, just a little detour, so it was indeed possible to make it convenient.

Arriving at the studio, Sophia caught sight of Ethan’s busy figure in the backyard.

The second floor had been renovated, and after applying putty, it looked no different from before; now it was mainly about decorating.

Shelley had already set off for a remote area, Aunt Carter had been silenced by the Lynch Family, taking the bla herself, and had been arrested.

It seed like everything had settled.

But who knows.

"President Sinclair, what a rare visitor." Sophia walked into the yard, looking at the man covered in dust from his work.

He had been working here for so ti. Hugh initially tried to shoo him away but eventually got tired of it. After all, why refuse free labor?

"My dear lady, you’re finally out." Ethan removed his dusty gloves.

Hugh quickly ca over, "Why are you out here? Why not rest a little longer at ho?"

Sophia sighed, "I was almost getting moldy, needed to air out the dampness."

"You should find a place to rest, don’t get in our way while we work." Ethan gestured at her.

Originally, it was just the two of them in the backyard, planning to talk about sothing no one else should hear, and this lady cos over to join the fun.

"That’s true, it’s ti to find sowhere to rest." Hugh smiled playfully, clapped the dust off his hands, "Let’s go, Sophia, let’s have so afternoon tea and take a good rest."

"..." It’s for her to rest, not for you, why are you escaping?

Ethan pursed his lips, unsure of what to say.

Hugh playfully remarked, "President Sinclair, it’s been hard for you."

"..." Yes, it has been quite hard.

Sophia smiled, "I’ll bring back so coffee for you later."

The two exchanged smiles.

"Wait for in the front yard, I’ll take a shower, I’m all dusty, I’m embarrassed to go out with you," Hugh said.

Sophia nodded, "I’ll wait outside for you."

She walked out.

Hugh returned to the backyard to change clothes in the third-floor lounge.

"You guys are really sothing..." Ethan, exasperated, "Can’t you take too?"

"Advisor Sinclair, don’t tell you’re lacking stamina?" Hugh shot a backward glance with a smile.

Ethan’s stern face softened a bit; her joking wasn’t a bad sign at least.

"Professor Irving, besides Burthan and , no one else bends over backward for you, how can you insult like this?"

"Then let’s see your performance tonight." As she said this, Hugh turned and left.

Let’s see your performance tonight...

Does this an there’s progress?

Ethan smiled aningfully.

Thick-skinned persistence still works sotis.

Before Hugh ca out, Sophia sat on the sofa in the front yard lobby, and soon saw Faye Ellison walk in with his mother.

A few days ago, he ca alone, but now brings a family mber?

Their gazes t instantly.

"Teacher Hale." Sophia went up to greet.

"Oh dear, Sophia." Teacher Hale looked a bit more haggard than usual.

"Sophia," Faye Ellison greeted.

"Faye Ellison." She felt a bit uneasy and kept a slight distance from him.

Faye saw through her small action but didn’t mind, just smiled.

He said, "Wanted to order a few dresses for my mom, she’s lost a lot of weight recently, and her old clothes no longer have the sa vibrancy. I figured you might know her preferences. I’ve been stopping by for a few days but didn’t catch you, so I thought I’d try my luck today."

"Oh, he’s always like this. As soon as I get back, he has doing this and that, like I’m useless," Teacher Hale complained, then turned kindly to ask, "That scar removal ointnt I had Ellison send you, did you use it? It’s the best kind, you can’t buy it here."

Sophia was taken aback; the ointnt was really from Teacher Hale, not him?

Teacher Hale asking about it now ant that Faye didn’t ntion returning the ointnt to her.

She forced a smile, "It’s very effective, I’m using it."

Faye nodded at her, and they tacitly chose not to expose the matter.

"Mom, go inside to get your asurents taken. I have a few words with Sophia," Faye looked at the sowhat unwell Teacher Hale.

Teacher Hale smiled, "Alright, you two talk, I’ll go check inside."

Sophia nodded, glancing at Corinne Chapman at the front desk.

With a smile, Corinne approached and said, "Ma’am, this way please."

Sophia watched their departing backs, feeling a bit awkward.

"Faye Ellison, thank you, I didn’t know..."

"It’s alright, my mom insisted that I deliver it. I wanted to bring it myself, but felt it inappropriate, so I arranged for express delivery."

Faye glanced at the sofa beside him, "Sit down and let’s talk, I need your help with sothing."

Sophia nodded, surprised that Faye would need her help. Why not discuss it over the phone, why co to the studio specifically?

Faye paused, uncertain where to start.

Sophia poured him a glass of lemonade, feeling nervous herself, sitting with him so formally for the first ti, feeling sothing amiss.

It felt sowhat like a matchmaking event...

"My mom wasn’t hospitalized due to hypertension; she has cancer," Faye said calmly, his eyes devoid of any light.

At this mont, his sorrowful eyes were like a fog in Berlin...

"..."

Cancer...

The word seed distant yet close to them at the sa ti.

Sophia’s heart tightened as if soone grasped it firmly, unable to breathe.

Teacher Hale was kind, having greatly assisted them in their studies. Pretending sadness wasn’t possible.

"She doesn’t know; we’ve kept it from her, but not for long. She’s in the late stage now." Faye’s sudden choked voice filled Sophia with sadness.

"What do you need to do?" Sophia asked.
