"Deal with...the wound..."
With Benjamin Grant continuously approaching, Chloe Grant was a bit bewildered.
She always thought Benjamin had the face of a first love; now, injured, he gave off a vibe of youthful impulsiveness, risking everything for the girl he loves.
When Chloe had nowhere else to retreat, she suddenly stood up.
"Why help deal with it?"
Benjamin sat up, touched the corner of his mouth, and eventually went to get the dicine himself, treating the area Chloe hadn’t finished attending to.
"Since you’re doing it yourself, I’ll head upstairs first."
Chloe didn’t say much more and headed out.
"You’re really open-hearted. Letting a stranger like stay at your place, aren’t you worried I might co upstairs at night and...do sothing bad?"
Benjamin leaned back on the sofa, turned his face to look at Chloe, and concluded, "You’re a bit naive."
"That’s because you’re Jodie Cooper’s friend!" Chloe couldn’t hold back, turned her head, and retorted.
It seed like many people had said that to her tonight, and it was getting on her nerves.
How is she naive?
"Jodie is my best friend of over ten years, so as her friend, I naturally would let you stay."
"However, if you feel uncomfortable staying, you can leave anyti, you..."
"Do you have a younger brother?"
Benjamin suddenly interrupted Chloe.
"What?"
"I’m asking, do you have a younger brother? Like...a half-brother, perhaps?"
"No!"
Upon hearing that, Chloe’s expression instantly darkened, "I don’t have a brother! I’m the only daughter my parents have!"
She was very agitated, and after speaking, quickly headed upstairs in anger, her footsteps were heavy.
In the guest room, Michael Taylor, seemingly because of the noise, ca out in his pajamas, his hair just freshly dried, "What’s going on?"
Jodie Cooper also ca out, "What’s the situation?"
After asking, she noticed Michael Taylor and was a bit surprised, "Who is this..."
"I’m Michael Taylor, you can just call Michael," Michael said generously.
Jodie followed with a laugh, "I’m Jodie Cooper."
The two made brief introductions without saying much more, then Jodie turned to ask, "Why are you so angry? What did Benjamin do?"
"He just suddenly asked if I have a brother. How ridiculous, how could I have a brother? I’m an only child! Even if my parents are divorced, that’s their child, what does it have to do with !"
Chloe’s mood was terrible, and she spoke sharply.
Jodie was a bit taken aback after hearing it.
Michael was completely puzzled and couldn’t understand what Chloe was talking about.
"Why get angry, he’s just being silly," Jodie consoled, then smiled and said to Michael, "It’s late, let’s get so sleep."
Michael nodded, "I’ll head back then."
She knew she wasn’t very close to either Chloe or Jodie, so so things were not suitable for her to hear.
After returning to the guest room, Jodie pulled Chloe back into the room and shut the door.
"Didn’t you tell that you no longer cared about your parents’ divorce?"
Jodie walked Chloe over to the bed.
Chloe flopped onto the bed and said sulkily, "I never said I cared."
"Why aren’t you bothered then? Look at how angry you were just now; if your brother really showed up, you’d probably be so mad you’d want to strangle him..."
"I told you, I don’t have a brother!"
Before Jodie’s teasing words were finished, Chloe sat up from the bed, her face flushed with agitation.
Jodie was a bit surprised.
