"The pajamas and underwear are new, and they’ve been washed. The daily essentials in the bathroom are new too, feel free to use them."

Chloe Grant said simply, "Oh, by the way, there are two other people at my place. One is Jodie Cooper, my best friend.

The other is Benjamin Grant."

"Your brother?" Michael Taylor took the stuff and instinctively continued the conversation.

Chloe Grant shook her head, "No, he’s not. Benjamin Grant is Jodie Cooper’s friend, back from Country A, staying temporarily at my place."

"You probably heard he shares my surna, maybe our ancestors were related."

Just as Chloe Grant was joking, there was a noise downstairs.

Jodie Cooper and Benjamin Grant had returned.

When Chloe Grant was on the second floor looking down, she saw Jodie Cooper supporting Benjamin Grant as they ca in.

Chloe Grant subconsciously thought they had gone out partying sowhere and were drunk.

"You go ahead, I’ll go down and take a look," Chloe Grant said, then turned and went downstairs.

Jodie Cooper had just helped Benjamin Grant inside, and dropped him onto the sofa.

"Are you drunk or... wow! What happened?"

Chloe Grant turned her head to look at Benjamin Grant and found his usually handso face now bruised and swollen, quite surprising her.

"Got into a fight with soone!"

Jodie Cooper rolled her eyes wearily and flexed her wrist.

Apparently, getting him back ho had exhausted her.

Benjamin Grant was slim but tall, and his bones were hard, making it difficult.

"Why did you start a fight out of nowhere?"

Chloe Grant looked down at the injuries on Benjamin Grant’s face... a few small cuts on his forehead, his eye and the corner of his mouth a bit swollen.

There were quite a few cuts and bruises on his arm too.

"Who knows, rebellious teenager," Jodie Cooper cursed disdainfully. "Don’t bother with him, wait for him to wake up and deal with it himself tomorrow, let’s go upstairs to sleep."

Jodie Cooper said and tried to take Chloe Grant away.

"But... he’s hurt..."

Chloe Grant still felt uneasy.

Although the injuries didn’t look too serious, so places were still bleeding slightly, making her feel uneasy.

"He won’t die," Jodie Cooper replied, pulling Chloe Grant away and turning off all the lights in the living room.

While Jodie Cooper was taking a shower, Chloe Grant couldn’t shake off her concern and eventually went downstairs again.

She fetched a warm towel and a dical kit.

Chloe Grant intended to turn on so warm lights, but she couldn’t see, so she just turned on all the lights.

She used the warm towel to gently wipe Benjamin Grant, then began to treat his wounds with dicine.

Even though Benjamin Grant was Jodie Cooper’s friend,

for so reason, Chloe Grant felt a sense of familiarity when she looked at Benjamin Grant, as if they had so connection.

Especially seeing Benjamin Grant so injured, Chloe Grant couldn’t just sit by without helping, feeling restless inside.

And then...

Just as Chloe Grant was wiping Benjamin Grant’s face one last ti, he suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed Chloe Grant’s wrist.

Chloe Grant was startled.

Benjamin Grant stared at her, "What... are you doing?"

Maybe because of the injury and the ti, Benjamin Grant’s voice had a bit of a smoky tone.

"You’re injured... I’m helping you," Chloe Grant replied.

She struggled to pull her hand back, but Benjamin Grant refused to let go.

He kept staring at her, using his other hand to support himself on the sofa to sit up.

"Why are you helping ?" Benjamin Grant leaned closer, questioning her, his voice noticeably lowered.
