"I don’t understand." Chloe Grant shook her head, licking her lips, "I just think a child is truly innocent..."

She wasn’t a saint, it was just her natural instinct as a woman to not bear seeing a child suffer.

"I can’t possibly forgive her. The most I can do is guarantee her so material comfort. And this child, if born, is destined to never have a complete family. With the Morgan family’s ways, this child would definitely grow up with them, but what about the mother? I could ensure the child never ets the mother in their lifeti, but what kind of trauma would that inflict on a child’s heart?

Instead of leaving scars on this child’s heart in the future, it’s better to end it swiftly."

Chloe Grant listened dazedly to Lucas Morgan’s words.

She sowhat understood, but... it was still a bit cruel.

There was really no way to say which step was correct, or where it went wrong.

Chloe Grant looked down, "I won’t comnt on your matters."

Lucas Morgan looked at her, finally smiling, "I’ll handle this properly."

"Are you hungry? Co and eat." He naturally took Chloe Grant’s hand and led her to the dining table.

Lucas Morgan pulled out a chair for Chloe Grant, and only after she sat down did he return to his original seat.

He pushed her favorite foods in front of her.

"Eat a little more," he reminded her.

Chloe Grant nodded and picked up her chopsticks to start eating.

"There’s a fireworks show at the plaza tonight. Shall I take you?" Lucas Morgan asked as he looked at Chloe Grant.

And when he ntioned fireworks, Chloe Grant suddenly thought of that night...

Everyone went to watch the fireworks while she stayed ho, silently sad, yet was called out.

That night, he lit a cigarette with one hand and walked towards her, his other hand in his pocket.

At that ti, Chloe Grant couldn’t see the fireworks; she only felt he was the finest spectacle.

"What are you daydreaming about?" Lucas saw Chloe Grant was in a daze and reached out to tap her head.

Chloe Grant snapped out of it, rubbing her head and frowning, "What are you doing?"

He never moderated his strength, it hurt!

"Eat, what are you thinking about now?" Lucas couldn’t help but laugh.

He naturally took an egg, peeled it for Chloe Grant, and removed the yolk, giving her the white part.

Since she was young, she’d been picky and lazy.

She clearly liked eggs but was too lazy to peel them and didn’t like yolks, so she preferred not to eat them.

And not just with eggs, it was the sa with fruits.

"After dinner, I’ll get you so fruit," Lucas said, "You haven’t played gas for a few days, right? I’ll play a few rounds with you later."

"I want to go out..." Chloe Grant shook her head.

Lucas looked at her in surprise.

It’s the first ti he heard Chloe, a ga enthusiast, actually refuse to play gas.

"Did you make plans with classmates, or...?"

"I’m going to et soone." Chloe Grant finished the last bit of egg white, then put down her chopsticks, "I’m done eating. I’ll head out first."

"Hey!" Lucas quickly stood up and grabbed Chloe Grant’s wrist.

Chloe looked back in confusion, "What is it?"

"Where are you going? I’ll take you."

"No need, I can drive. I already got a license and Uncle Morgan bought a BMW MINI that I haven’t really driven. I’ll just take that."

As Chloe refused, she gently wriggled her hand free and then quickly walked outside.
