Lucas felt genuinely displeased, as if sothing was blocking his heart.
He even thought, even if Chloe Grant forgot everything and could only rely on one person, that person should be him!
After all, they’ve been together since childhood.
However, the closer Lucas got, the more Chloe hid from him, clinging tightly to Matthew Morgan instead.
She treated him as if he were a monster!
"Chloe Grant!" Lucas yelled in anger.
Matthew Morgan lifted his gaze, sweeping a sharp look across.
"What are you doing, you’re scaring her!" Isabella Gray also voiced her opinion.
Though she felt Chloe’s amnesia was sowhat inexplicable.
Why did Chloe forget everyone, yet only stayed close to Matthew Morgan?
And it wasn’t just Lucas; even when Isabella tried to get close, Chloe would hide.
She seed very sensitive, afraid of everything around her, only trusting Matthew Morgan.
"The doctor’s here."
At this mont, Mr. Morgan had brought over the doctor.
Isabella and the others made way.
Lucas’s brows were furrowed as he watched Chloe clinging to Matthew, feeling utterly displeased inside.
That feeling...
It was as though sothing precious to him had been taken away.
So frustrating!
"I don’t want to..."
The doctor wanted to approach Chloe to examine her, but she resisted, clutching Matthew fiercely.
Aside from him, Chloe wouldn’t let anyone co near.
"Let’s let the doctor check you out, be good." Matthew tried to pull her away, crouching down and pinching her cheek.
Chloe was still resistant, shaking her head...
"I’m scared, I only trust you."
Matthew looked at Chloe, montarily forgetting to respond.
For the past six months, Chloe’s attitude towards him had been one of fear, like a child in awe of an elder.
The worst was when he’d deliberately gone to her school to see her, wanting to make it seem like a coincidental eting, so it wouldn’t be too obvious.
He thought, no matter how scared Chloe was, she’d co over and greet him, as he was her elder.
But the result...
It really wasn’t like that!
When they were half a street away, Chloe saw him and reacted as if she’d seen a ghost, turning and running away.
Keeping her distance.
Matthew once confronted her about it, and Chloe played dumb, "What? Uncle Morgan, were you on the street? I didn’t see you."
But now...
Seeing her rely on him this way, Matthew was genuinely surprised.
In this room full of Chloe’s closest people, she trusted none of them, allowing no one near, except for him...
"Let the doctor take a look, I won’t leave." Matthew reassured her, tidying her hair.
Chloe was still not particularly willing.
"Hmm?"
"Alright..."
Her tone was reluctant, and her face was full of grievance.
Matthew smiled; her deanor really resembled when she was a teenager.
He stood up, allowing the doctor to examine Chloe.
Though Chloe let the doctor check her, her hand kept gripping Matthew’s tightly during the examination.
"Doctor, what’s going on?"
As soon as the examination was over, Lucas pressed for answers.
The doctor was also at a loss, "There’s nothing apparently wrong..."
"I’ll contact the head of neurology, it might be a concussion’s after-effect, we need to do further tests. But..."
The doctor looked back, seeing Chloe, who seed terrified, clinging to Matthew, "The patient doesn’t rember anything and is in a very fragile, scared state. It’s best to accommodate her, don’t agitate her or make her frightened."
