"Fellow Daoist, you shouldn’t drink that." The middle-aged man watched Lin Fan gulping down the wine and devouring the at. He grew increasingly anxious. Where exactly did this fellow Daoist co from? How could he be so foolish and fail to see such an obvious problem?

These three are all Demons in disguise, using so ans to conceal their demonic aura.

The Old Woman lowered her eyes, anger flashing in them. It seed there was no way to keep their cover anymore. She could only act directly. This cultivator wouldn’t be easy to deal with, and he might have already seen through their true identities.

But just then—

Lin Fan shouted angrily, "What’s your deal, man? It’s the middle of the night, and you’re the one who knocked on the door. They kindly invited you in to sit, and yet instead of being grateful, you say such things. Isn’t that a bit much?"

"Young master, please don’t be angry. This Immortal Master must have misunderstood, truly a misunderstanding." The Old Woman hid her killing intent once more. She hadn’t expected that this Human Clan man still didn’t believe the cultivator’s words. For her and her companions, this was a golden opportunity.

As long as soone believed them, everything would be much easier.

Chun i and Qiu Dong were already a bit tipsy, but they knew that the cultivator who had just arrived was indeed difficult to deal with. They quickly tried to calm Lin Fan’s volatile temper. "Young master, don’t be angry, don’t be angry."

"Hmph, if you don’t like it here, then leave. No one’s stopping you. Do you think it’s easy for soone to prepare a al for you in the middle of the night?"

"Eating for free, drinking for free, and even being served—where else would you find a life like this? Yet you’re still nitpicking. Sigh... I don’t even know what to say about you."

Lin Fan shook his head, clearly displeased with the behavior of this fellow Daoist.

The middle-aged man said, "Fellow Daoist, I’m trying to save you! These won are not good people—you’ve already fallen into an illusion and have been blinded by them."

"Immortal Master, what do you an? I’ve lived here with my two daughters for decades, never doing anything unjust or wicked. Yet you accuse us of not being good people? How could you slander us like this?" The Old Woman spoke while bowing her head, pretending to cry. However, her tears were scarce—barely a drop fell. It was a pity, truly, because with such acting, she could undoubtedly win an award.

"Heh, you can deceive others, but not ." The middle-aged man sneered.

Lin Fan said, "If you don’t want to stay, then kindly leave. I like it here—it’s nice. This old lady worked hard to raise her two daughters, and now they’re even willing to accompany . Why must you stir up trouble here for no reason?"

The middle-aged man shook his head, deeply disappointed in Lin Fan. This fellow Daoist had already fallen completely into the Demons’ trap. To make him believe the truth, the only option was to expose these Demons’ true forms.

"Fine. Since you don’t believe , I have nothing more to say. Everyone has their fate, and fate cannot be resisted. I will take my leave then."

He stood up, ready to leave the place.

The Old Woman did not stop him. Since there was no guarantee of defeating this cultivator, it was better to let him go. One person staying behind was already sufficient.

But just at that mont—

As the middle-aged man reached the doorway, he suddenly spun around and pulled out a golden mirror, aiming it directly at the Demons. "Fellow Daoist, open your eyes wide and take a good look—these are Demons!"

The mirror bore simple symbols on its surface and seed unremarkable. However, when the man channeled mana into it, it instantly erupted with dazzling golden light. As the light shone on the Old Woman and the two young won, they all let out sharp, piercing screams.

Clearly, the golden light made them extrely uncomfortable.

"Fellow Daoist, just look!" the middle-aged man roared.

The Old Woman’s true form was revealed, her demon traits on full display. The two young won also could no longer maintain their human guise—black and white wings appeared on their bodies, and their slender fingernails turned into razor-sharp claws.

"So you’re Crane Demons. I was wondering why your demonic aura was so faint. Once noble Immortal Birds have degenerated into Demons—what a pity. However, it is my duty to exorcise evil and uphold righteousness. Since we’ve crossed paths, bla your misfortune." The middle-aged man ford a spell in his hands, and the sword strapped to his back shot out of its sheath with a sharp whoosh.

"Damn it! I didn’t expect you to figure it out." The Old Woman snarled angrily, dropping her pretense. They had already ensnared one victim, only for this ddleso cultivator to ruin everything. It was infuriating.

Lin Fan, holding his wine cup, remained calm and unbothered as he sipped his drink.

Now he was truly furious.

Bam!

Lin Fan slamd the table and roared, "All of you, shut the hell up!"

He was very angry.

The consequences were dire.
